The story is getting better as Jude Watson writes about the Killbots discovering another group of survivors from a previous crash on the alien biome that occurred in the 1960s. This allows more personalities to surface and new characters to join the party. Because understanding the physics of time is difficult, I was somewhat confused about how the characters reacted to and comprehended the time warps or time folds that were part of the setting for this book. Overall I was pleased, and I might pick up some other books by Jude Watson to read. I am hoping to get hold of the next book in the series soon so that I can continue reading the adventure. What will happen to Molly? Is there help available where they plan to go? Who created this place? And who were they fighting?

I recommend this book for 5th and 6th graders with higher reading ability.

This book respects its length, unlike deadzone. Deadzone felt too short. This felt the right length. Along with the great action, this is the best so far upon reread.

This was my first time reading anything by Jude Watson, and I have to say I did enjoy book #3 in this series. As with the other books, I can't go into too much detail with my review or it will spoil it for you; but I will do the best I can!

First off, I was disappointed with MYSELF for not paying attention to the title. It's called "A Warp in Time" for a reason. So, I doubt other readers were as surprised as I was, and you probably won't be either. For me though, it made the big plot twist within the first half of the book even better! I was thinking "did not see that coming. I should have, but wow, very good plot point."

The new characters were a nice addition to the story! They fit in well with the Killbots; we do not get their POV however. It still sticks with our 4 narrators: Javi, Yoshi, Anna and Molly. THANK YOU authors for not adding more voices, it would have been too much. Speaking of POV and voices/narrators, I think Jude Watson did a great job picking up where our last author left off. It flowed very well, and the characters did not read as drastically different.

I wish we got more answers with this book! Instead, we get even MORE questions. So far, in three books, the only things the characters have managed to discover is that they are stuck in a "rift" in Alaska. Still on our planet, but false biome/environment that is maintained by robots. We still don't know who did this, why, and if any of the robots are good/evil. Instead, we have questions because: more new animals are introduced, Molly is still sick/gaining super powers?, there are still possible monsters out there, new devices are found, Oliver is MIA, and more I can't remember. This just worries me, because I am afraid that we won't get answers until the very last book and it will feel more like an info dump than a solved mystery. I'd like to discover some things now, so that it will all make sense by book #7. And we can be guessing now to see if we were right! Maybe I'm just a clueless reader, but I just don't have enough info to make a guess beyond this: ALIENS.

My only complaint: the ending felt super rushed. So much was going on it felt like too much at one time, it jumped around so much it was a bit difficult to follow at first.

Still recommend this series! Can't wait for book #4!

Team Killbot is back in Book 3 of the Horizon series! After surviving a supernatural plane crash, and braving a deadly red desert, the group has stumbled upon a real camp, with real people! It seems as if they're not the only ones after all. The musicians have a similar story to the group; they crashed in the Arctic and have been here ever since. However, as the two teams get to know each other, Team Killbot gets the sneaking suspicion that these musicians aren't what they seem. There's something off about their language, and their style; can the group find out what's wrong before their lives are taken?

I was pretty thrilled to read this book. After devouring the first and second books in record time, I was ready for the next installment. I was a bit skeptic about the tangent into time that the book took, but I took it in stride. I'm glad I did, because I think this book was the best one of the whole series! The characters were developed wonderfully, and the plot was just as suspenseful as ever. Usually I don't like survival books or supernatural books, but Horizon pulls it off with finesse. The new characters and plot lines are expertly woven into the already mysterious settings of the previous two books, with almost no plot holes!

Overall, this book was wonderfully written, with your heart racing with every turn of the page. Even if you usually don't like survival books, give this book a try. You just might be surprised when you stay up all night

"If you remembered too well what you left behind - what you'd maybe never get back to - it could just about kill you."

The Kilbots are missing home, missing everything about it, and trying their best not to think or talk about it. Their adventure picks up right where Book #2 left off. Hearing music, they run toward it and discover another group of kids, trapped just like they are. With this discovery, they have a renewed hope that someone is looking for them and rescue is on its way. They first have to figure out how to get out of the time-warping jungle.

"Funny thing about words. Once they're in the air, they're gone."
Feeling guilty about leaving Oliver behind, Molly is on edge trying to figure out what her team's next move should be. Javi wants to stay in the camp that their new friends have made; Molly wants to follow Oliver's advice and head for the building; Yoshi wants to go out on his own.

"Just because I couldn't understand his words doesn't mean they were meaningless."
The rash around Molly's wound continues to spread, and the group discovers she isn't the only one suffering. Misery doesn't love company in this case because the other one inflicted with a similar wound seems lost in his own head and incoherent.

"If we lose what made us happy, then we lose, period."
The group has to come together as one to get out of the jungle alive, together, and all in one piece in this thrilling third installment of the Horizon series.

Continuing to enjoy this series!

On top of diverse characters and changing viewpoints, we're being introduced to more information on how the strange location they're stuck in works.

I'm intrigued by this second group of kids; their mere existence implies that whatever crashed the Killbot's plane here has been drawing others here on a much longer timescale than first suspected. 1950s? A group of musicians surviving on their own with the aid of the same alien tech the Killbots found? It both underlines how potent this technology they're messing with is, and scores home the fact that no one is coming to save them. They'll either have to get out on their own or be stuck in this prison forever.

Yoshi's growing restlessness, and the introduction of a character who'd been bit and infected with the same venom as Molly, only adds to the tension. And the Killbots discovered a bit more about how the technology works - with scales, and music - now, they're equipped to start learning its language.

Excited to see where this goes!

The book A Warp in Time is a adventure novel by Jude Watson, and it is the third book of the Horizon series. A Warp in Time is about a group of kids who call themselves the Killbots, stranded in a rift in the artic made to look like an alien world. As the Killbots start to explore a new biome in the rift they find out that they aren't the only people down there. The run into a marching band that crashed into the rift called the Cub Tones. After some time time talking to the Cub Tones the KIllbots quickly realize that their new friends have been there longer than they seem. They have been stuck in the rift for nearly 50 years! I would rate the book a 3 out of 5 because of its suspense. But, I didn't like how a new concept was introduced out of nowhere.

If you like the book Jurassic Park by Michael Chrichton you may like this book A Warp in Time by Jude Watson as well.

192 pages. Book 3 is quite interesting. The same group has moved on to another zone of this mysterious place their plane crashed into. This time they meet up with some other kids who crash-landed there in 1965. Weirdness continues. And dangers/challenges are around every corner - or tree. Creative writers have been working on this series which is pretty gripping at times. The characters are developing more and we are left with more and more mysteries and possibilities at the end. For fans of the series, keep going. This is getting good! I would buy for my school. Highly recommended Grades 4-5.

Loved! Here’s my universal review for these books:

Okay, people trash this but lets keep in mind it’s a MIDDLE GRADE. Even though I’m older than the target audience, I still really enjoyed it. I kept thinking to myself “If they redid this series but more in-depth for an older audience, it would be so much better.” It was a quick read, I flew through them all, and it was just so fun. I would definitely recommend. There’s not as much character building at first, but as you read on, you’ll certainly get attached. If you can’t stand middle grades, then maybe don’t pick this one up. But if you just want a quick read and a good story, you picked up the right book!

Some spoilers ahead:
This one was cool! I sooo ship Yoshianna! Those kids trapped there for so long!? Oooooooh.

I told myself that I wasn't going to finish this series, but when I saw the last three books at my local library, I just couldn't help it. (The fact that I happened to be in the children's section "just checking" to see if they had it is irrelevant.)

Look, this series isn't the deepest, most profound, or most novel middle-grade chapter book out there, but dang, if it isn't fun. The action is pretty much non-stop, the mystery just keeps deepening, and every author does a little more to develop the characters and their relationships.

It's a fun, easy read, and I knocked this one out in a few hours before bed.

The Killbots are still trying to get to the building where they hope answers await. On their way they discover more kids stranded although how long they've been there isn't clear. Time is different in this area. there is dissension among the two groups although they try to work together. Molly finds another kid with the same problem she has although Cal's "disease" is more progressed. Molly is more scared of her future than ever when Cal's maladies are revealed. The big question is whether they should band the two groups together and head to the building or stay in the compound that seems safer. What will they do?

Wait, what?! Time Warp? Are you kidding me? Could this series get any better?

Apparently so.

More crazy fun as we follow these characters trying to figure out what is going on. Such great twists. And wonderful integration of science into a story. Learn about relativity, magnetic fields, and more (not boring!). With fast paced action.

And when you finish ... like me ... you will scream in anguish! Wait until August 2018 for the next installment? You've got to be kidding me!

Breathe deep and wait! But I'm not thrilled about this. Just sayin'.

This is currently my favourite kids series.

After Book 1 pushing my buttons in a big way (see my review for Horizon #1 : Survival is No Game by Scott Westerfeld), I have settled in to thoroughly enjoy this “Lost” - esque Sci-Fi adventure.

This book introduces some new characters....probably necessary as we had already lost a few in Book 1 and 2. We are in a different biome too....new things to learn, new dangers to skirt.

Each book is written by a different author (librarians nightmare)....but the books work seamlessly with each other and I am looking forward to Book 4

This 3rd of 7 in the series is an excellent survival story about teens whose plane has crashed in the arctic. The teens in this installment encounter other teens whose plane crashed in 1965 - 50 years prior to their crash. Molly discovers that one of their survivors is like her & shares her secret. More exciting adventures and challenges that show how important it is to be a friend, to work as a member of a team, and that no one is stupid or inadequate. All are important. I loved the mix of music and science.

Loved the adventure!

This book is by far my favorite in the series. So exciting and twisty and you get answers to questions you may have had about things hanging in the air from The other books. I love time travel mystery kind of stuff and this does not disappoint. I really felt like I connected with the characters in this book. More so than the other books I don’t know if it’s cause of the author or cause of they are all coming to terms with things and are finally facing the root of their
Problems or what but it’s good. It’s all so good!

The killbots have to face death and the dangerous situations in this book. They have to cross the desert so they can possibly get the building at the end of the valley. They end up finding other people, other kids. Little did they know, these kids were from the 1960s. They find out there is another device but instead of it changing gravity, it changes time. They spend weeks in the woods without even realizing thinking it's been a couple of days. Then the book cuts off with them running from the earthquake. Good book. Pretty good plot and would overall recommend after you read the first 2.

Wow....are these kids ever going to get home? So far they've dealt with a plane crash in a jungle that tries to eat them, a desert that tries to suck them in, and now a forest when time is all wavy. I'm curious how many books are planned for this series. Well written and the pace is fast! My students are loving this series!

This book has a lot of interesting characters. We have our usual cast from the other previous books. But a new group is introduced who have been in a time warp for 50 years. I enjoyed the introduction of them. Then they kind of get split up so they can have two different groups with different dynamics. Definitely want to read the next one

Better than the first to books! Jude Watson’s writing pulls you in and makes you feel like a part of the book while at the same time still switching between character narrations and using 3rd persons perspective. Can’t wait for the next book!

Would love to have a sliding scale to give this a 4.5. We're in for another 39 Clues type series that I am truly enjoying and wish that the fourth book was ready to read! The new dangers are ever present and may even turn out to be someone in the new group of teens they meet. Well done Ms. Watson!

I enjoyed the story but not the authors writing style. It can sometimes be hard to read a series where the author changes with each book because it when the style changes it can be hard to get back into the story. I really liked 1 and 2 but 3 just felt a little disjointed to me.

Didn't like it as much as the first two, but it was nice to have new characters. The plot wasn't great, but the science and theory behind the time and what was going on around them was interesting per usual.
