As president of The Last Riders, Viper’s only fear was losing his wife. After all, he had almost lost her once before.
As wife to the president, Winter lived in fear every day: fear that a club enemy would take Viper from her, fear that one of the club women would tempt him to stray, fear that she wasn’t enough of a woman for him. One thing Winter didn’t fear was risking everything to carry her husband’s child, even her health, yet Viper refused to take the chance.
Losing hope, Winter made one last ditch effort, determined to make Viper realize that some things were worth fighting for besides the club.

Same old problems, I sometimes believe the author hates women since they're so often humiliated in her stories. Hubby lies, continually, about another woman and wife feels she should apologize? Hubby allows the 'other woman' to decorate wife's new house, as a surprise? I'd have a surprise for him, divorce papers, if another woman did my house up! Uncomfortable 'open ' sex scenes (maybe it's just me that's uncomfortable here, but it's my review). Just so many things are unappealing, frustrating and annoying. I disliked the main H from his first book so no surprise I didn't like him much here. But, the writing is often pretty good. The epilogues are usually great. If it wasn't for the creepy sex rites the Last Riders enjoy, I'd like these books a whole lot more.
When I saw there was a novella about Winter and Viper I had to read it to see if they were happier than they seemed in the creeptastick "Viper's Run". I hate to say it but it's worse than I feared.
Throughout this book, Winter:
1. Is emotionally drained and feels unfulfilled. 2. Feels worse after spending time with Viper, not better. 3. Fears her relationship is not secure & Viper will leave her for another woman. 4. Gives up everything to please Viper, the club, and the club whores while they give up nothing. 5. Constantly puts up with drama and angst intentionally created by Viper and the club whores. 6. Changes herself all the time to please Viper and the club whores while they change nothing.
When Winter tries to distance herself a bit or discuss her feelings, Viper:
1. Initiates a club orgy in their bedroom 2. Threatens her with a glare or an angry response 3. Walks out on her 4. Blatantly lies to her 5. Turns it around on her so she feels guilty.
When Winter addresses the bad behavior of club whores herself, Viper
1. Defends the whore 2. Shames her in front of everyone 3. Treats her like a 5 year old in front of everyone 4. Yells at her in front of everyone 5. Tells her to go to her room.
Bear in mind, Winter is dealing with a shitload of emotional trauma:
1. Her grandma is ill and almost died 2. The sex club lifestyle prohibits her from adopting children 3. She could die if she becomes pregnant 4. She has ongoing health issues 5. Increased danger via recent attacks on the club, members, and employees 6. Increased death and destruction caused by club whores 7. The sexual nature of female member initiation 8. The ease with which her husband and the club lie to her 9. The lack of personal privacy any where in her house, including her own bedroom which has a literal "open door" policy.
As if all that shit isn't enough, Viper specifically TOLD a club whore to do whatever it took to make Winter hate her, thereby increasing Winter's already overloaded emotional stress exponentially!
How does all that add up to "A beautiful story"? What is it about that situation that brings "tears to peoples eyes"? Is it the mental and emotional abuse that Viper continually dumps on Winter that's causing people to tear up? Because it makes me want to cry for sure. Or vomit maybe?
Last thing: MOTHER FUCKING BLISS IS NOW THE MAYORS WIVE?
1. She stabs every woman in Treepoint in the back 2. Creates a shit storm of trouble for anything with a vagina 3. Shit talks any woman that gets so much as a glance from a man
And she becomes the towns first fucking lady?
How many dicks did Drake make her suck to get voted into that position? Her mouth must be petri dish of infectious diseases!
Disgusted and that's the first chapter! Give me a break if you love your wife so much and you love your husband your NOT going to let someone else touch you period! I don't even want to read Trains book because he could care less about Killyama! All the women just changed their values for these men and one word for that club WHOREHOUSE!!
I absolutely love Winter and Viper. This is their story and its a beauty. In Winter's touch the author gives us a glimpse of how their relationship is going. It's an emotional story, I wanted to jump for joy, smash my kindle but I went though a box of tissues. Begley has a way to draw you into her stories and never let you go. The Last Riders is in my top ten favorite series and this story just strengthened my love for these characters, I have been waiting to read this story because I wanted to read Train and Riders as well, so now that they have both been released, I decided to jump back into the little world Jamie Begley created in Treepoint.
If you are looking for a wild ride, then I suggest the Last Riders to you, I would start at the beginning with Razer and work your way to Winter's Touch. I believe this series needs to be read in order to give the reader a better understanding of characters and storyline. Plus Jamie Begley has a few another series that take place in the same world as The Last Riders and the series are intertwined. So give The Last Riders a go you will not be disappointed. Happy Reading!!!
If this author loves club whores so much that she lets them walk all over her girly-boy Last Riders, then why doesn't she make all of her heroines club whores?
If she would just stop pretending like she likes her current, non-club whore, heroines, I would have liked her stories a lot more and given them a much higher rating.
Sadly, her contempt for Winter and all of the other Last Rider wives is so palpable that it makes this series unreadable.
I was looking forward to reading more about Viper and Winter, admittedly they aren't my favourite couple but any book by this author is one I'm going to read. I feel having now read this that I wish the author had just let their story be where it ended in Viper's Run. I'm sorry to have to give spoilers but it's difficult not to.
There's a new club girl staying with them she's from Ohio there's some story about her having to leave and stay in Treepoint. Sasha that's her name and she makes it very plain to Winter that she wants Viper. A few situations happen that start to have very serious consequences to Winter and Viper's marriage. Viper even stoops to telling Winter lies, plus for those of you who have read Hostage it's made very clear that Viper's refusal to let Winter get pregnant because of the threat to her health doesn't help the situation. But it turns out that this is all a set up, Viper had put Sasha up to trying to get rid of Winter because he's building her a house and Sasha is designing it. That was a WTF moment for me, first off Winter surely would notice a house being built in the grounds that surround the club house, plus who wants some other woman designing a house for you especially one who you believed wanted your husband! Crazy that's what it is, why would Viper come up with something so stupid that almost had him losing Winter permanently. Also Train came across as a bit of an ass in this book, I've always liked him up till now. I'm also getting fed up with the opinion they all have of Sex Piston's crew, especially Killyama as once again she saved the day with no thanks. This was definitely not my favourite story by this author, there was a lot happening but it all felt so rushed. I'm not sure how Train's book will pan out, I can only hope that Killyama kicks all their asses Train's included. Two and a half stars for me.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I love the Last Riders series, but there are so many things that I just don't like. Winter is supposed to be such a strong character, but in this book she is once again weak and crazy, always bending to Viper's needs. I kind of hated Viper in this book, and Winter too for falling for all his lies.
During the book there are a few "misunderstanding" caused by Viper lying to her about a bunch of things, but then he gets mad at her for not trusting him and he even tells her that he had never betrayed her and that she has no reason to not trust him, but just because he never cheated on her, that doesn't mean that she hadn't caught him lying, so how can she be sure that he is loyal after all the lies she had discovered? I just don't buy that guilt he pushes on her, when he is the one that lies and hide things. Why does she have to apologize to him because he is lying and she gets the wrong idea? I mean, Winter is justified to think the worst, if she sees that he is not telling her the truth.
I didn't particularly enjoy this book. The writing was not as good as previous books in the series and the dialogue seemed to lack emotion. I found most of the plot ridiculous especially the part concerning Sasha and what her and Viper were upto and Winter's eventual reaction to it when she found out the whole story.
Viper does not want Winter to get pregnant as it would be too risky for her due to her previous injuries and also, he does not want to lose her like he lost his brother. He is adamant they won't have children, so I wondered why he hadn't got a vasectomy rather than rely on Winter taking care of the contraception?
A lot happens towards the end but it seemed rushed and incomplete. There was no mention of Kilyamma's actions? I also thought it unrealistic what happens medically wiith Winter. I'm sure such medical results would not be available that quickly and I didn't see the point of that chocie of storyline when the first thing that happened would have sufficed.. Can't say as much as I would like or it's a spoiler.
I'm aware the author has had some health problems and is now getting back on track but I don't think enough effort went into this book and it's shorter than it implies and it was expensive plus I don't think it was really needed and she should have just concentrated on Train and Kilyamma's book which is due next and which fans have been waiting a long time for.
I’ve been reading these books out of order so I wasn’t aware that Viper and Winter are having problems as mentioned in Hostage (Predators MC Series). And since Viper is my favorite of all the Last Riders, I was curious to read Winter’s Touch. The manipulative asshole has made a lasting impression over all the other MCs. His lifestyle and views have not changed from when he first met Winter. He doesn’t cheat but everything else is his way, period. This includes not giving her the child she wants but for justifiable concerns for her health.
The story centers around the decision to have children and Winter’s jealousy over Sasha, a new prospect to the Last Rider’s. Winter catches Viper lying to her and believes he’s cheating on her with Sasha. This is all a misunderstanding and it works out in the end. It was nice to read more about my favorite character but I didn’t think the storyline warranted an additional book.
All in all, I still enjoyed it. The cute epilogues provide an insight to possibly branching out to a new series with the kids of the Last Riders and the scene with Train and Killyarma gives you an introduction to their story.
Lying to your wife is NOT romantic. Encouraging other women to make your wife jealous is NOT romantic. Letting other women sext you is NOT romantic. Making your wife feel like your lying & manipulations are all her fault is NOT romantic! Letting a club whore decorate your wife's house is NOT romantic.
YOU WANT TO STOP MEN LIKE HARVEY WEINSTEIN, BILL COSBY, DONALD TRUMP, MATT LAUER, LOUIS C.K., CASEY AFFLECK, CHARLIE ROSE, AND RAY MOORE FROM DISRESPECTING WOMEN?

Rereading the author's books in the order indicated by her while I wait for Gavin's third book.
-1 ⭐
The character Sasha pissed me off and the way Viper handled everything made me suspicious of him and didn't really convince me. The messages sent by Sasha and the way she conducted herself did not give me any sympathy. A sign that not everything goes smoothly in the world of Last Riders. Wives are not as integrated into their way of life as it seemed. But it was a good story with emotional scenes and special participation from Rachel's brothers.
===================== 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Amazing! ====================== Uau! Realmente muito bom! A história me pegou desprevenida. Eu iniciei a leitura esperando uma coisa e recebi algo muito melhor. Tem cenas incríveis e os epílogos são maravilhosos. Aguardando ansiosamente o próximo livro! Recomendo muito! ----------- Wow! Really really good! The story caught me off guard. I started reading waiting for something and I got something much better. Has amazing scenes and the epilogues are wonderful. Eagerly awaiting the next book! I highly recommend! ---- Highlight: “I was gifted with The Last Riders when I married your father, and now I’m passing them on to you. My love will always surround you and keep you safe, but when I can’t, God knows their love will be there in my place.”
Was looking at my Facebook page and saw this and eyes bulges out and saw a book on Winter!! YES!! In Hostages we read that Winter is having problems with Viper, especially because she wants a baby...However there are some complications to her having one! I'm so happy Jamie is writing another book on this couple!! Can't wait!! :D
It's been a long time since I read a Last Rider book so I was out of the loop on the MC drama, but given what Winter has to go through I have to wonder if Jamie Begley has a grudge against the poor girl. She goes through a lot: fear of Viper cheating, pregnancy fears, major health issues, and the resulting pain from all the crap that happened in Viper's Run.
However, JB has a way of wrenching the heart out of you when you least expect it or want it, and she can make characters that you have previously despised and scorned more palatable. Greer...nuff said.
But, and it's a big one...Jamie, what the H do you think a real life 60 year old woman is like in 2022? I don't know how old you are, but you have fallen in the trap that women no where near 60 fall into. Winter's 64 year old aunt is portrayed as a decrepit Aunt B type. Begley is not alone in this stereotype. Wake up and smell the Metamucil!
Old school 60s...
2022 60s
Don't even get me started on Helen Mirren. Here at 63.
weak weak premise on which to base potential cheating story. It felt forced and frankly stupidity seemed to play a large part in taking the story in a certain direction.
So the book is not bad, but there are a few probleme with it (don't mind the english please I'm french):
1_ We wanted Train's book, not the second book of Winter and Viper. Ok this couple is awesome but we want Train. We thought we would have Train's book but no. Kind of unfair for us.
2_ We have two plots. First the one with the bad guy, then the one more personal, like always in her books, wich is ok. But in the personal we have 2 issues...2 big issues. And that is not okay, we can't have the Sacha probleme and the baby problem. Two is too much. It's like they are not even finished, the Sacha problem shouldn't have ended like that, it's like Winter was saying "Oh well everything I felt, everything I had to live, everything she made me feel and he made me feel is forgotten, because you know the story goes on and we are already at the second problem" No either you give us sacha either you give us the baby but not both.
3_ Viper I love you, but No JUST NO, this was not a good idea, the house decoration and the sacha thing, nope stupid. And winter shouldn't have to apologize. Oh and you don't want to have kids you can go snap snap your little boys it's 100% efficace. No risk of kids.
4_ WE WANTED FUCKING TRAIN!!!!
But if there was one major good point compared to the other book. Apparently Jamie begley finally understood that when we read a book of a couple we don't want to have Lily and Shade always shoved down our throat. Damn this book got 2 stars because I was so fucking happy I didn't have to endure an other eulogy to Lily and Shade. In this book book she said rhe couple will be winter and viper and it was, not like for jackal and penny, or knox and diamond, or all the other couple. Maybe Jamie Begley finally understood that they are not her only couple, and that not eveeybody looooooooves this couple (i really don't like shade and lily)
Well that's it. Good book but not the one we wanted, and too many things in it.
Don't get me wrong, I love books with menage, sex... but women in this series, oh my GOD... in my country, we say that when a person supports humiliations, and all that crap, has "cockroach blood"... anyone with hot blood would not be soooo... you know. I would never accept things that these men want from their women. Anyway, I liked the book, despite having to bear to see some things that I think a woman who loves herself should ever endure. My favorite male character still is Shade, although sometimes I want to hit him hard... I like Lucky too, and maybe Stud. These men had a little bit more respect for their women than others. Viper grew on my concept in this book, a little, but still fails in many things.
When I read the Bliss book I have stayed afraid to read Train book, reading this now, I'm more afraid. I start to think that Train is another hypocritical idiot.
It's more like 2.5 stars but let's round it to 3 and only because of Killyama, I loooooooove her. She's my favorite character in all these books. Please Mrs. Begley don't ruin Killyama by turning her in one of the no backbone Last Riders ladies...
"Not all angels fly in the sky. Sometimes, they come in, riding a motorcycle."
When I open a new Jamie Begley book I know I'm going to enjoy it. The Last Riders MC world is an amazing one. Those characters are so well developed that it's so easy to remember them and what they are known for.
Winter and Viper were featured in Viper's Run, which is book 2 in the Last Rider's series. In Hostage, we learn that Winter wants to have a baby but Viper is against it because he knows it could be dangerous to her due to her past surgeries.
As with prior installments, there is danger lurking. The guys are on high alert trying to defend their loved ones and their territory. There is also a misunderstanding between Viper and Winter which leads to some conflict but what I love about Jamie's writing is that she didn't make it longer than it had to be. Saying that, I wanted to scream at Viper when he was pushing Winter away. I found his excuse to be lame.
For lovers of the Last Riders series like me, you'll be getting everything you want from Winter's Touch. There is sexy time, awesome banter, the setting for books to come, and of course an insight into the future which only makes me want to read those characters story too.
I enjoyed the first 50% of this story. It had some really decent angsty feels and OW drama. The angst was resolved by the 50% mark though, and the story changed from there. It wasn't a bad change, but I absolutely missed the angsty feels from the first half. This story would have definitely been more than a four star read if the phenomenal angst could have stretched out further into the story. That being said, I was glued the entire time to the very ending.
I'm glad it is not just me that feels uncomfortable with the sex situations in these books. I swore I wasn't going to read anymore of them although I've read every single one. I saw this and thought great another book about Winter so I read it. So disappointed again in the sex scenes but also the outcome in this was a bit far fetched. How much pain can one person have brought upon them. I will not read anymore of them. Bella Jewell is a great writer but things at the end were brushed over. I like a good sex scene like everyone else but the scenarios in this series just make me feel ugh.
the storyline was so sad... but I still dislike Viper ' s treatment of Winter. And, the way Winter was acting made me want to smack her and tell her leave him or believe him but please stop letting him treat you with such a lack of respect... what happen to her aunt & his father. ..kinda left us hanging :(
Winter’s Touch is book #8 in The Last Riders, a series that I like overall even though it’s had some books I wasn’t overly enamored with. I one-clicked it when it came out but then set it aside. The reason I put it off so long was because the synopsis made it sound like the strong woman I admired from Viper’s Run had taken a hike to be replaced by a woman who was scared of everything. With the release of Train’s Clash, I knew I needed to cross my fingers and dive into Winter’s Touch since these books need to be read in order.
In the beginning, my heart bled for Winter but I thought she had a serious case of tunnel vision when it came to getting pregnant. With her past, Viper’s concerns were extremely valid but Winter was so stuck on getting a baby exactly how she wanted one, she could not see the big picture.
As the book progressed, these two had some serious miscommunication issues which are my absolute most hated trope. When the unneeded angst with Shasta (or whatever the newest addition to the Riders name was) came up, I rolled my eyes so much I think I strained them.
The last 25% of the book poor Winter had some more horrible hurdles to jump. I felt extremely sorry for her and wondered why she had to go through so very much. TBH, much of the angst felt contrived. To add to it, the final battle she had to fight was thrown out there and then skimmed over. We never really get closure on that part of the story. View Spoiler »
Furthermore, I’m furious Raci is still around. Absolutely furious. It makes me think this club really is run by a bunch of guys being led around by their favorite appendages. She betrayed the club and could have caused all of them to be blown up but they kept her around because they all had soft spots for her. WTF???? And then her punishment is no sex! She just has to watch. Oh, and do some extra chores. This is absolutely ridiculous.
In the end, the book was just barely okay. I was shell shocked by all that poor Winter had thrown at her, I wanted to punch Viper for what he failed to explain thereby leaving poor Winter hanging, and I was pissed at TLR’s for being idiots about Raci.
The good news is I am now free to read Train’s Crash, which I have been waiting on forever.
If you've read Hostage then you know Winter and Viper are having problems. Winter is desperate for a baby but Viper is scared for Winter's health. (Her attack in Viper's Run caused weakness in her spine and she's at high risk of not being able to carry a child to term).
The first half was great. I love it when psycho girls are in the picture causing misunderstandings. I liked Winter's jealous side. She's scrappy. But after they worked it out we entered Cheesy Town, USA. Ohmigosh I was almost embarrassed to be reading this ridiculousness. The whole fight scene at Shay's house was crazy hard to follow. The description was atricious. It's like Begley forgot how to be a writer for a chapter. It was nonsense.
Then there were three epilogues. They weren't half bad but I get the feeling Begley might venture into giving the LR kids their own books too. As if her series' aren't one massive beast as it is. So many characters to keep up with. But please stop revisiting couples that have their HEA, there's plenty of material. Also, this book ends at 78%. Kind of annoying for the $4.99 price tag.
The first half saved it, very entertaining. But, as a whole, I was underwhelmed and I thought it was unnecessary as there was no forward progression to the storyline.
Not a fan of Winter, so much jealousy, I understand she has a health situation. But I have to admit it was a good book. She did pissed me off in a couple of chapters, acting like a high schooler, knowing she is a grown ass woman. Still a fan of the author.
This one was just so-so simply because the story line was all over the place. It was confusing and made no sense. I gave it 3 stars since I love the characters but the story itself was totally incongruous and it started getting more and more confusing as it went on.
