Discord is bored: She isn’t being assigned new cases because she’s been outed in the media, resulting in too close for comfort scrutiny. Logan’s suggestion of a weekend getaway sounds like the perfect remedy.
Three whole days of just the two of them and no responsibilities? Hell, yes.
When your boyfriend’s a shifter, the destination is guaranteed to be magical. And where there’s magic, trouble has a tendency to arise.
This was too short (it is only a novella) for it to really grab my attention. However, Discord's crazy amounts of super special powers were at least a little hindered this time around, which made for a more interesting plot. I was also happy to see the ex-boyfriend story line finally get wrapped up!
A little pricey for a 95 page novella at roughly £2, but I attribute that to Amazon weirdness and the value of the pound having spectacularly imploded fairly recently. Also I inherited the lions share of my dad's stereotypical "tight-fisted Yorkshireman" genes so pretty sure everything costs more than I truly want to spend on it. Don't let my grumbling be taken as any indication on the quality of the writing though.
This was a very fun, quick read and just what I needed whilst sick and moping about in bed. It felt like it had just the right mix of everything, a touch of character exploration, a little bit of world building , and a dash of action.
I'm not awarding it 5 stars though because it introduced a handful of characters that feel like they're going to become more important to the main story later on and I always feel that such things should be added in the main arc and not in an optional side entry/ filler/ bridger (even though this book had to be given a full number for strange and arcane reasons, the author was very clear that this should be considered 6.5). Also at 95 pages it's a little short for my liking, which is not the fault of the story or the author, but I can very rarely be totally satisfied with novella length pieces because I always feel like more could be said.
Still, the writing was excellent as always, I liked that again the Crazy of the Week wasn't directly linked to Discord, and I always enjoy seeing Logan and Discord spend time together. I find them adorable and I want characters I like to have moments of love and happiness instead of never-ending pain and misunderstandings.
A nice little interlude to tide us long time readers over until the next full length novel comes out.
Cordie and Logan take a vacation in a pocket universe set up like a borderless zoo for magical creatures. Unicorns, anyone? But it turns out the creator of the pocket universe -- the one with ties to the AI that makes it maleable -- has come back to claim what is his.
On the short side, but felt like a complete story. It was more fun when I had multiple to catch up on and I could marathon them.
This was a short and sweet story about Discord and her boyfriend going on vacation. She's finally getting to learn more about her boyfriend, and life is getting good for them.
But on this trip things aren't exactly going according to plan, even though it seems to be fun for them for the most part.
This book was okay. It honestly felt sort of like a filler type of book, but it was nice to see Discord and Logan together.
2.5 stars The first four chapters how I perceived them: Oh Logan your so sweet, your the best, ever! No Cordi your the best ever. Sentence after sentence after .... Seriously, nothing aside from that happened. It was neither sweet nor romantic, just boring. The story, once it finally started was fine. This is not looking good for future books for me.
Another awesome story in the Discord Jones series. I have two issues: it is only a novella and I neeeeed me some more Discord and Logan, please! Also, I liked that Discord was the only natural mage that we knew about. Bringing another into town makes her less special and part of the reason I like Discord so much is that she's ridiculously speshul to the point of bordering on Godmode tropishness.
Anyway, I liked the focus on Discord and Logan having fun and getting to bond. It was amusing and very sweet, which they usually don't have much time for in between saving the world.
I can't wait for the next book. I needs it. I needs it now.
I really enjoy the Discord Jones series. Each book is fun and exciting. The characters grow and evolve. They are books you can read and enjoy multiple times
