This is pure art.
I adore the way Koudelka handled the tonal range: richest black through all the grays to purest white. The compositions are sweet in their simplicity and power. The photos are heavy, favoring shadows, but what impact! What inspiration!
This is a book to soak in and savor; a glance-through would never be adequate. It's a collection I can see myself coming back to again and again.
