Hi! I'm twenty five years old and movie star gorgeous. The camera added thirty plus years and a few wrinkles. Can't trust those cameras or mirrors either. Along with bathroom scales they are notorious liars! Honestly, I am the mother of three fantastic grown children who've made me laugh and given me more story ideas than I could ever write. My husband, Charles, is my strongest supporter and my best friend. He's even willing to eat fast food and help with the laundry while I finish one more chapter! Life is good and I am blessed!

Reading has been a passion since I was five years old and figured out those were words on book pages. As soon as my chubby little fingers found they could put words on a Big Chief tablet with a fat pencil, I was on my way. Writing joined reading in my list of passions. I will read anything from the back of the Cheerio's box to Faulkner and love every bit of it. In addition to reading I enjoy cooking, my family and the ocean. I love the Florida beaches. Listening to the ocean waves puts my writing brain into high gear.

I love writing romance because it's about emotions and relationships. Human nature hasn't changed a bit since Eve coveted the fruit in the Garden of Eden. Settings change. Plots change. Names change. Times change. But love is love and men and women have been falling in and out of it forever. Romance is about emotions: love, hate, anger, laughter... all of it. If I can make you laugh until your sides ache or grab a tissue then I've touched your emotions and accomplished what every writer sets out to do.

I got serious about writing when my third child was born and had her days and nights mixed up. I had to stay up all night anyway and it was very quiet so I invested in a spiral back notebook and sharpened a few pencils. The story that emerged has never sold but it's brought in enough rejection slips to put the Redwood Forest on the endangered list. In 1997 Kensington bought two books for their Precious Gems line. Two years and six books later the line died with only four of those books seeing publication. But by then Avalon had bought a book and another, and another. Ten years later the list has grown to thirty nine. Last year Sourcebooks bought the Lucky Series which is in the bookstores now. They've also bought The Honky Tonk Series which will debut with I LOVE THIS BAR in June and will be followed by HELL, YEAH, MY GIVE A DAMN'S BUSTED, and HONKY TONK CHRISTMAS.

Folks ask me where I get my ideas. Three kids, fifteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren. Note: I was a very young grandmother! Life is a zoo around here when they all come home. In one Sunday afternoon there's enough ideas to keep me writing for years and years. Seriously, ideas pop up at the craziest times. When one sinks its roots into my mind, I have no choice but to write the story. And while I'm writing the characters peek over my shoulder and make sure I'm telling it right and not exaggerating too much. Pesky little devils, they are!

I have a wonderful agent, Erin Niumata, who continues to work magic and sell my work. I'm very lucky to have her and my editors who continue to believe in me.

Happy reading!

The premise for Talk Cowboy to Me caught my attention right away because it promised a fun antagonistic romance, and with Carolyn Brown, I can almost guarantee I’ll have a good time!

Remy Luckadeau and Adele O’Donnell want the same property, and must work and live together for one month to prove they’re the right fit for a beloved ranch. Remington and Adele see the Double Deuce Ranch as a perfect property to raise their respective children. For Adele moving off her ex’s ranch means starting a new life with her two daughters, free of the man that so easily tossed them aside. Remy is left with the care of his two young nephews when his brother dies, and wants them to have the down-to-earth upbringing he had. Neither is willing to give up without a fight let the competition begin, and the sparks fly!

There are definitely sparks of attraction between Remy and Adele, but both are cautious, with good reason. Adele has much more to risk than her heart as a mother of two, but Remy brings out emotions that even her ex-husband couldn’t. Remy has been a tried-and-true-player, only interested in a one-night stand or at the most a weekend, but he’s dealing with much more than a fleeting attraction with Adele. Working side by side he’s come to admire Adele: her feistiness, work-ethic and big heart. The O’Donnell’s and Luckadeau’s start off with an adversarial relationship, the girls against the boys, but soon working together they form a grudging respect; actually begin to like each other. Before they realize it, neither can picture life at the Double Deuce without each other, one big blended family.

I love the way Carolyn Brown depicts ranch life: minding cattle, farming, cooking and canning, sipping sweet tea on a porch swing while watching the sunset after a hard day of work. It sounds like an old-fashioned, simpler way of life, and it appeals to this tired city girl.

Carolyn Brown captured my heart again with this sweet, sassy Southern romance. I laughed and swooned in equal parts while reading, and I was thrilled with how everything worked out!

A modern day Yours, Mine and Ours, but with cowboys! I truly adored this book. The kids are hilarious. The premise is fun -- one ranch, two potential buyers. And I love a good story with a slow burn of a romance. This romance will make you laugh, cry and is the perfect amount of steamy.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

When I first started the book...I thought the plot sounded familiar. The competition is similar to Betsy Gallagher and Declan Brennan in 'A Cowboy Christmas Miracle'.....but the only similarity is a competition for a ranch.
Remy Luckadeau needs the ranch to care for his brother's orphaned sons.
Adele O'Donnell needs it to make a home for her two daughters. The three of them dumped by her ex-husband for his mistress.
The deal is they have to take care of Walter's ranch for a month, then he'll pick one to buy it.
But they bond into a tight knit group a pseudo family and become one.
Warm, funny and romantic, this tale in strong in family values and community spirit. If there really was such a place, the waiting list to get in would be endless.
Wonderfully told, I read in one day and pray that we will at least get Cassie's story, and if we're lucky...we will hear about the love lives of Jett, Bella, Nick and Leo.
I received an ARC copy from Netgalley and know of 3 people off the top of my head who would love this for their Easter gift.

In true Carolyn Brown fashion, this story captures your heart from page one, gathering size and by the end is near to bursting with all the emotions and heart felt moments that were part of the story. There is so much honesty, love and family in this story that you can't help but come away with a smile.

Remy and Adele's story is completely in sync with what one would expect from this author and her characters. They have so much personality,...and charm on Remy's part...with a chemistry that nearly ignites the page! I thoroughly enjoyed watching the kids grow together as a family, especially enjoying the dynamics that makes brothers and sisters tick. As with every story I've read by Ms Brown, I'm saddened when it's over, but look forward to what comes next.

This book was provided by the Publisher and Netgalley, I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

Another new series. I really enjoyed the fact that it's connected to a couple of her other series, so I can get caught up with some of the extended family.
I think I fell in love with the children first. All four are unique in their own ways. And the fact that they didn't grumble about doing ranch chores, instead making it more fun by challenging each other.
Then we have Remy and Adele. Both seem to have it together, and should be able to take care of the ranch easily without the other. So when they choose to work together instead of splitting the chores, I just knew that it would all work out in the end.

Very good book. It is a ranching Brady Bunch kind of story. Adele is a single mother of two girls, Jett and Bella. They were dumped by her ex-husband for his mistress. He has cut all contact with them, including selling the ranch they live on out from under them. She wants a place of their own where they can put down roots and move on with their lives. Remy is now the single father to his two nephews. He was the ultimate player until six months ago when his brother died, and he became responsible for the boys. He wants his own ranch, where he can give them the kind of upbringing he had. The owner of the ranch can't decide between the two, so he has them move to the ranch to care for it while he is gone for a month. When he comes back, he will decide who gets it.

This was a fun story from the very first page. Both Adele and Remy are determined to win the contest, as are their kids. The adults have the added complication of an intense attraction between them. Adele is wary of getting involved with Remy, whose reputation as a player is well known. Besides, she isn't ready for a new relationship since she's still dealing with the fallout from her marriage. Remy is equally wary. He's never seen himself as the settling down type. Now that he has the boys, his attention is all for them. Plus, there aren't too many women around who are willing to take on someone else's kids.

The competition and its progress were great. It starts out very antagonistic, with both sides determined to beat the other. The kids are especially competitive. Jett and Bella have lived on a ranch most of their lives and are well accustomed to everything that must be done, and they have no trouble rubbing that in. Nick and Leo are city boys but determined to learn what they have to in order to win. Though Remy and Adele start out intending to divide the work, it isn't long before they realize it makes more sense to cooperate. There are some terrific scenes of various types of ranch work and how it gets handled. I loved seeing the kids go from adversaries to friends to sibling-like behavior.

I loved the development of the relationship between Adele and Remy. Remy realizes right from the start that he's in trouble. He's attracted to Adele and knows that could be quite a distraction. Plus, he's trying to put his player reputation behind him and be a good example for the boys. Adele also knows that she has a battle on her hands. Remy is just the type of man she's attracted to, but she's been burned once and doesn't want to go there again. It doesn't take them long to move from adversaries to friends. I loved their growing respect for each other and their abilities. It's obvious that they are falling for each other, but each continues to fight it. Remy doesn't think he's good enough for her, and Adele is certain that he'd rather be with anyone but a tall, red-headed rancher. It was also really sweet to see how each of them fell for the other's kids and felt guilty that winning would wreck their dreams. Of course, the solution is obvious, but it takes them a while to see it. It's difficult for each of them to overcome their fears, but eventually, they can see and admit their feelings for each other. I loved the ending and the surprise they had for their families on the Fourth of July.

One of the things I liked most about the book is that the relationship developed without any over-the-top drama. They have a few instances of disagreements, but they can talk honestly and deal with whatever the issue was. I also liked how they used some of their own actions as teaching moments for the kids.

I loved the kids as secondary characters. Each of them has their own personality and place in the story. Of the four, Jett was my favorite. She was feisty and fun. She had quite the mouth on her, and it was fun to see her rile up the boys. She was also kind hearted, and I loved her quick connection with Dahlia. That was a brief piece of the storyline, but a very emotional one.

I also loved seeing various members of the Luckadeau and O'Donnell families from previous books. It's always a good time when the families are together. It was especially fun to see the unsolicited advice and comments that Remy and Adele were on the receiving end of.

Talk Cowboy to Me 'Talk Cowboy to Me' by Carolyn Brown is book One in the "Lucky Cowboys" series.  This is the story of Remy and Adele. Adele is trying to cope with her husband leaving her for his mistress. In addition, she has two children who are trying to adapt to this change. Remy too is going through a life change in which his brother has past and left him with his children.  Both Adele and Remy have fallen in love with a Ranch that they both think it would help the kids with their current family issues.  But they both can't have the Ranch can they?  This was a sweet story to watch how two families with hardships come together to make one family. *A Book Obsessed Chicks Review Team Selection*

When two parties are interested in the purchase of the same ranch, what could be more natural than a contest to see who is more serious about their offer? Yep, Remy Luckideau and his nephews vs. Adelle O'Donell and her daughters spending a month together on the Double Deuce to see who's still there when the 4th of July comes around. Both families need this new start and dig in to out last the other.

Talk Cowboy to Me is both a first in series, but also a crossover book with connections to a few earlier series featuring both the Luckideau and O'Donell clans. It works well as a first grab, standalone, or out of order so don't be shy about snagging it up.

Remy has been a playboy cowboy all his life until he becomes the guardian of his deceased brother's two young boys. He needs a new start and needs to put down roots in a place where his reputation doesn't proceed him. His nephews are city kids so he must teach them a love of the land and ranching which is the heart of who he is. It's a complication he does not need that the competing buyer is feisty and luscious Adell O'Donell and her girls. Or maybe it's a complication exactly like he needs.

Adelle and her daughters are coming from a past of an ex who cheated and walked away wanting nothing to do with his daughters and this is their big chance to start over far from anyone who knows about all that nonsense. But sharing a ranch house and chores with the Luckideau boys and their attractive uncle make her realize that the rejection from her ex didn't break her as much as she thought. Suddenly she isn't so sure that winning is everything- or at least her idea of the prize might be changing as two families start to work as one.

Alright, this was a fun one. I felt so bad for both families and I wanted both to win the competition. In true Carolyn Brown fashion, the answer to the difficulty isn't that tough and it is fun for the two parties to work it out as they go along with daily ranch life, obliging family to point the way, and their own spark of attraction. I loved that this was two broken families becoming whole and being there to sort out trouble and blend their strengths. There is a good blend of the tender, the fun, and the passionate moments.

I missed out on the earlier stories of Remy's relations in the Lucky series, but I'll be going back of course and I can't wait to see where the next one in this new series heads. Maybe Adelle's strong-headed sister Cassie? This book is for those who enjoy light yet a pinch spicy contemporary cowboy romance.

My thanks to Sourcebooks Casablanca for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Wow this was a great sexy read, and not in the sex in every scene type of way. This was my first time reading this particular author and she gave me so much more out of this story then I ever thought possible.
Remington Luckadeau is a known ladies man all over the great state of Florida, that is until a few months ago when his brother and sister in-law died in an accident and left their two sons to him in their will. Now Remi will do anything inorder to show those two young men how to treat women right, and teach them all about ranching. And his mission is as follows, move to a new area where his reputation does not preceed him and to by the double deuce ranch. One part of that is going as plan but buying the ranch is a little harder since the owner of the ranch has decided that the two perspective buyers will live on the ranch for a month and he will decide who wins the ranch at the end. Now Remi and his two new kids will be sharing the ranch with a divorcee single mom and her two daughters.
Adele O'Donnell is trying to give her daughters a new life. Thanks to her bastard of an ex-husband that new life involves packing up everything from their home and trying to find a new ranch to own. Her plan would have perfect, her daughters are great ranchers and they should have no problem out ranching some city boys and their uncle. Of course it would be a lot easier if the boys were not so lovable and if their uncle was not a such a great good looking guy. But with his reputation she needs to avoid him at all cost. But of course that doesn't mean they cant be friends....right?
This was a great "enemies" to friends to lovers romance. And it was an even better melding of families rancher story. Even without the romance this was a great read, but I got to admit the romance made it quire a bit more likeable.
I highly recommend this story as it is a unique, quirky, absolutely adorable read. There are some moments that hurt a bit just because of how easy it is to become empathetic to the children so when ever something hurts them it hurts the reader as well. This was one hell of a romance that you will not want to miss out on. And this author will definitely be one of the ones you will always go back to.

One cowboy. One cowgirl. One ranch.
Who will win the Double Deuce by the Fourth of July?

Adele O'Donnell knew that Double Deuce Ranch had to be hers the second she walked onto the property. Freshly divorced, she sees it as the perfect spot for her and the kids to start a new life. Remington Luckadeau was always a carefree playboy...until his suddenly orphaned nephews became his responsibility. The Double Deuce Ranch would be the perfect place to raise two boys. But some fiery woman is fighting him for it, and Remington is not sharing-no matter how the sparks fly when he and Adele are together.

My Thoughts

I fell in love with the Double Deuce Ranch just as much as Adele, her 2 girls, Remy and his 2 boys did. I especially however enjoyed seeing each new day spent together draw not only the adults closer but their offspring as well.

The elderly owner of the ranch may have orchestrated a surprising scheme to pick the new buyer but from the very beginning of it’s unveiling there was no doubt in my mind that what started out as a competition would turn into something quite different sooner than later.

Cannot emphasize enough just how much it pleases me to open a book penned by author Carolyn Brown. As always her mixture of honest charm and scorching chemistry take the romance between main female/male leads together into the realm of believability rather than fiction.

Once more I raced to finish a book while enjoying every step toward it's ending and then mourning finishing when last page read.

Filled with plenty of humor this story focused on what being satisfied with an honest hardworking life should be like, and how raising a family is the most important job a man or woman could undertake alone or together.

The ranch is up for grabs and the seller has an unusual proposition for ownership. Remy Luckideau and his nephews vs. Adele O'Donell and her daughters spending a month together on the Double Deuce to see who's still there when the 4th of July comes around. Both families need this new start and dig in to outlast the other.

Talk Cowboy to Me is the fourth in the Lucky Cowboys series about the Luckideau family with loose connections to a few earlier series (Spikes and Spurs, Burnt Boot, TX) featuring the O'Donell clans. It works well as a standalone, or out of order so don't be shy about snagging it up.

It's a complication he does not need that the competing buyer is feisty and luscious Adele O'Donell and her girls. Or maybe it's a complication exactly like he needs.

Returning to her roots and the ranching life she loves, Adele and her daughters are coming from a past of an ex who cheated and walked away wanting nothing to do with his daughters and this is their big chance to start over far from anyone who knows about all that nonsense. But sharing a ranch house and chores with the Luckideau boys and their attractive uncle make her realize that the rejection from her ex didn't break her as much as she thought. Brian Hutchinson was a new to me narrator, but it took but a blink and I was thoroughly settled into the story from both Adele and Remy’s points of view. I thought the voicing of the children and older characters was also superbly done.

I missed out on the earlier stories of Remy's relations in the Lucky series, but I'll be going back of course and I can't wait to see where the next one in this new series heads. Maybe Adele's strong-headed sister Cassie? This book is for those who enjoy light yet a pinch spicy contemporary cowboy romance.

Talk Cowboy to Me is the first novel is Ms. Brown's Lucky Cowboys series and she's off to a good start. I give this novel a 4.5 star rating.

The novel features Adele O' Donnell, a 35-year-old divorcee with two daughters, and Remington (Remy) Luckadeau, a womanizing player with quite a reputation for bedding at least half the women in the Texas panhandle, and the two nephews he took under his wing when their parents were killed in an auto accident. Both Adele and Remy want to buy the same ranch, the Double Deuce, and the owner, Walter, can't decide which of the two prospective buyers deserves and/or needs the ranch more. So, since he and his lady friend are planning a one-month cruise, he's left a list of chores and responsibilities, and invited both families to share the house and the work involved in running the ranch, live there, do the required chores and based on merit, he'll decide who gets the ranch when he returns.

Adele and her daughters are well acquainted with the work involved in running a ranch--she ran one for over a decade when she was married to her former husband, whose well-heeled family have been in the diamond business for generations. She signed a pre-nup before the wedding, and when her husband divorced her for his latest conquest, the ranch belonged to his family and she found herself without a home. He offered her a lump sum for child support rather than being bothered to provide for his children on a monthly basis, no alimony, and he had no problem giving her sole custody of their children, wanting no visitation rights at all. Adele is a tall, stubborn, hard-working redhead, and she accepted those terms, but she's only managed to save enough money to buy the ranch, and she really has no fall-back plan.

Remy, who, prior to ending up as guardian to his two young nephews, both of whom are city kids, worked as a ranch foreman and also knows the rigors and duties of ranching pretty well. He thinks that Adele and her girls won't last out the month, but he's in for quite a surprise, when they prove to actually know more than he does in some cases. We wants this ranch because he doesn't want his nephews exposed to his wild reputation in the panhandle, and feels obligated to be a better role model for the boys, although little by little, his attraction to Adele grows, as does his respect for her and her girls. I loved the way Ms. Brown portrayed the children in this novel--they each had fully developed personalities, quirks and opinions of their own, and at no time were they ever treated as an afterthought.

What starts out as a competition for the same ranch doesn't necessarily end that way, but as the novel progressed to the day-to-day division of ranch chores, the cooking, cleaning, housekeeping, milking, haying, the assisted birth of a bull calf, the death of the air conditioning system with temperatures over 100 degrees, the cat having kittens, the escaped cows being accosted by a skunk and then stampeding, a demented rooster who has no idea when to crow, this odd assemblage of people slowly becomes a lot like a real family. So, which family will win, and what will the other family do?

I only had a few minor issues with the book, and the first was the title, which had absolutely nothing to do with the story, since both Adele and Remy knew ranching. Also, the time-frame of the HEA ending seemed more than a bit rushed. Finally, there was Dahlia, who is a secondary character in the novel, but who I so wish had entered their lives a bit earlier--she was quite special.

This novel had me laughing out loud one minute, and in tears the next. It was a sweet, charming, funny, and spicy read, and there was something so down-home and comforting about it that I can't wait to read the next installment in the series. Ms. Brown certainly introduced enough secondary characters to populate quite a long series, and if her subsequent novels are as good as this one, I, for one, will be a very happy reader indeed.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance reader a copy of this book

In Talk Cowboy To Me by Carolyn Brown, Adele O'Donnell is divorced from Isaac Levy. He dealt with diamonds, but she is a cowgirl at heart. Isaac bought a ranch for them but he was never there. After she had their second daughter he wanted a divorce. Then he married his girlfriend, had a son, and sold the ranch so that Adele and her two daughters had to move.

Remington Luckadeau is a player. There was no settling down for him. He was very happy with a different girl each weekend. Then his brother and sister-in-law were killed in an auto accident. Remy now has sole custody of his two nephews. This situation is a real game changer for Remy. He knows nothing about raising two boys let alone putting down roots. He needs to find a place for all of them to live.

The Double Deuce Ranch is for sale and wouldn't you know that both Adele and Remy really want it. Walter the owner has come up with a plan. Both Adele and Remy will move to the ranch with their families and run it for one month. Together they must complete the to-do list Walter has left before he returns. Whoever is there when Walter returns will get to buy the ranch. If both are still there he will somehow decide who gets the ranch.

This is an interesting situation for all involved. Things are very trying with all their children.
Adele's daughter Belle is fourteen the same age as Remy's nephew Nick. Remy's nephew Leo is close in age to Adele's daughter Jett who is eleven. Jett is a real pistol. Your jaw will drop at some of the things that will come out of her mouth. You will have tears running down your face from laughing so hard. She really keeps things interesting.

Now you have to read this book to see just how things turned out and who got to buy the ranch. Carolyn Brown never disappoints and she sure didn't on this one. I loved it and you will too.

Four stars: A charming, whirlwind romance with a fun cast of characters.

Adele O' Donnell and Remington Luckadeau have a problem. Both of them are determined to buy the same ranch. Walter, the owner, can't decide whom to sell the ranch to, so he comes up with a wicked proposal. Both parties will live on the ranch for one month, working the land and performing a list of chores. At the end of the month when Walter returns, he will choose the winner based on merit and work. Adele is a stubborn red haired woman with two young girls who wants to find a place to plant roots after a bitter divorce. Remy finds himself the surrogate father of his two nephews, and he wants to find a home for them all. The six of them move in and get to work, bringing along a fierce competitive spirit. Surprisingly as the month wears on, the group finds some common ground. Who will win the ranch?
What I Liked:
*I almost always say this after finishing a novel by Carolyn Brown: that was pure comfort reading. This book has a delightful cast of characters, a cozy setting, plenty of comfort food, romance and a fun situation involving the sale of the ranch. I loved the down home feel to this one, and it left me with a big, goofy smile.
*I always love Ms. Brown's characters. This time around, I was introduced to Adele and her two determined daughters, Bella and Jett. There is nothing prim and prissy about any of these ladies. They are ranchers through and through, able to do the work of any man. I loved that these girls could do anything and everything. Plus, the two daughters were funny and feisty. Remy has a reputation of being a womanizer, but since he became the caretaker of his nephews, he wants to be a good role model. I liked that he was kind and patient, and that he took on such a huge responsibility. His nephews are sweet and courteous. The entire cast of characters, including a mama cat, an old cow dog and a crazy rooster made me smile.
*I liked the whole contest involving the ranch. It was interesting to see how the two parties, who started out as competitors, quickly evolved into friends. What a fun premise.
*The romance is full of heat and sizzle and it starts with an immediate attraction that neither party wants to act upon. Yes, it moves quickly, but it is so fun to watch it unfold.
*I was surprised by the story line involving Dahlia. It was moving and poignant and it pulled at my heart strings.
*The ending is sweet and satisfying. It ends on a high note, after a bit of sadness that will leave you smiling.
And The Not So Much:
*There was some unnecessary drama inserted in the story involving Adele and her ex husband and former in-laws. I expected this conflict to rear it's head and cause some significant problems for Adele and the girls, but then it suddenly went away with no further mention. It bothered me that this story line was left hanging.
*I wished that Dahlia had a bigger part. I wanted to know her a bit better.
*I liked the romance, but I am always bothered when they move too quickly. I wish that they hadn't rushed things at the end. Just a personal preference.

Talk Cowboy To Me is a delightful romance with fun, feisty characters, a cozy setting, an interesting premise involving purchasing a ranch, and a group of people who must learn to live and work together. I loved the down home feel to the story and the romance. This is pure comfort reading. If you need something light and easy, this is a sure bet.

Carolyn Brown has stolen my heart again with a start to a great new series. I was excited when I saw Talk Cowboy To Me available for review. I jumped on that chance. Ms. Brown has once again created a story that did not disappoint me. She had me hooked form start to finish and I'm so glad I read this book!

Cowboys are a favorite of mine, and have been for some time. Remington Luckadeau is a cowboy that I want to see more of! He was funny, strong and his nephews quickly steal your heart! He's not one to back down from a competition and that's just what he had going for him. Competing for the ranch.

Adele O'Donnell is a character that I loved. She was left to raise her twin daughter alone and needed the ranch as bad as Remington. So, she competes just as hard for the ranch as Remington and the story that unfolds is one that I was so glad to read! She reminded me of myself in many ways, as a single mom, and I loved cheering her one. I even loved Boss and Jerry Lee!

I definitely enjoyed reading this story of taking a chance on love and helping each other overcome obstacles. The sparks really flew off the pages. Ms. Brown once again filled her book with hope, laughter and passion. Her characters, from animals to adults, make a home in your heart to stay. This is a book worthy of high praises and I can't wait to read the next book in the series! Well done, Ms. Brown. Well done!

A very sweet and sassy story from the wonderful Carolyn Brown. I loved Adele and her two daughters, Bella and Jett. Jett is going to be a chip off the ole' block if she keeps up with the smart-mouth and attitude. That's a good thing because she is going to be a spitfire of a woman. Adele is vying for the Double Deuce Ranch with another cowboy and his two nephews and has to stay on the ranch for a month and work it. Walter is challenging both Adele and Remington to stick it out and whoever does a better job will get the ranch. The other will have to go somewhere else. Neither wants to lose and these two work the ranch like no other. What they didn't count on is both loving it, and cooperating with the kids, and they do a bang up job.
a sweet romance develops between Remy and Adele but it is the kids that steal the show. There are some cute scenes and one in particular that made me cry. I love reading her stories and this one was a delight.

ARC REVIEW

Talk Cowboy to Me is the first book of Carolyn Brown's new series Lucky Cowboys but is also part her Lucky series (book 4). As always Carolyn Brown delivers an adorably cheesy romance that I just can not get enough of really. Quirky situations and extremely likable characters combined together with humor and a bit of sadness make this story one to remember.

Adele and her two daughters are forced to leave the ranch they called home after a bitter divorce, Adele thinks she has found the perfect place to call home the only problem is that Remington Luckadeau wants the same place. Remington inherited his two nephews after the death of their parents, Remington's brother and his wife. Remy was known for his playboy ways but now that he has his nephews to raise he wants to settle down on a ranch and turn his two city boys into cowboys. But on the whim of the rancher selling the land he sets it up so both family stay at the ranch and whoever does a better job gets the ranch.

Adele is just as determined as Remy to get the ranch. The sexual chemistry between them is something Adele isn't use to and with Remy's past she is hesitant to start anything with him especially after her disaster of a first marriage. The four kids start of rocky but soon they are acting like siblings. Adele isn't want Remy's is use to and definitely not his usual type but she is everything he needs if only he can convince her that his feelings aren't short term.

Overall, this was a really cute story and I look forward to the next book.

The best way to start any day is with a Carolyn Brown cowboy romance. That it's one where we'll see so many previous characters from different series is just the cherry on top!

Remington Luckadeau, how cool a name is that ! But come to think of that, her hero always have great names.

Adele O'Donnell and Remington Luckadeau both want to buy the same ranch. The owner can't decide at whom to sell it, so he comes up with a proposition. They're gonna have to share the house for a month (while the old cowboy and his sweetheart are on vacation) and take care of the animals and all the chores around. If they're still there after the time is up, the man is gonna take a decision.

It's not easy sharing space with a stranger. But add to the mix a rooster who crow when's not the time, cows on the run, an eleven and a fourteen feisty years old girls, two smartass boys and you have kids who don't get along well and a recipe for disaster, but a whole lot of fun !

What began as a competition of girls versus boys with bickering kids will gradually become a nice friendship and a great partnership. I loved how slowly their romance evolved. It was not the firecracker attraction that Carolyn Brown usually do, but the chemistry is there and the fire burn more langorously, that's all ;)

Carolyn Brown did a good job at giving us glimpse of the Luckadeau and the O'Donnell and I don't think she could have give us more than that without encroaching on Remy and Adele's story.

The kids were adorable and their bickering just as cute.

Carolyn Brown's books always put a smile to my face.

Maybe it’s the fact that I’m not rancher, a Texan, or a single mother, but I just didn’t care for this story. The pacing was very slow, and there were so many different scenes that weren’t relevant to either of the two plots. There were too many characters. I’d be introduced to a handful of characters in one scene, and they’d never come up again. I feel like a lot of the interactions between the main characters were cliche to the point of unnatural, and it made my experience weirder and made the book even more difficult to read. I feel like it easily could’ve been 100 pages if all the unnecessary scenes were taken out. It’s pretty tedious, where every day the characters wake up, discuss the chores they’ll do, the kids argue a little, they do their chores, there’s some sexual tension between the main characters, and then sleep, and repeat.

The only redeeming quality is the very immersive imagery. I’ve never set foot on a ranch, but I felt like I had a decent idea of what was going on. But on the downside, the imagery slowed down the pacing even more, and at that point, it went into fanfiction territory.

Not my favorite read, but if you’re a rancher, Texan, single mother, or just really horny, you might just like this book.

What’s not to love about a feisty redhead and a smoking hot cowboy + 4 children!

Talk Cowboy To Me by Carolyn Brown is a cozy read and by that I mean that it’s your stereotypical boy meets girl romance (or on this case man meets woman).

Both parties are coming from difficult places and are thrown together in well the most impractical way. Remy is a woman loving cowboy who had to change he’s ways when he became the solo guardian for his orphaned nephews and Adele well she had to rebuild following a dastardly bad marriage.

The characters do have substance and depth and Carolyn Brown manages to get some difficult topics across. It’s well written but I found the story plot tended to bouncy back and further and there was no real closure or comeuppance in certain situations.

What I felt it lacked was a bad guy(s) someone(s) who would throw curveballs throughout the story plot. That the hero and heroine would be brought together as they over came the challenge.

It wasn’t a bad read but neither was it an exceedingly good read. It just left me feeling lacklustre even though I liked the characters

This is a great book; this is the fourth book in the Lucky Cowboys series written by Carolyn Brown. But some fiery woman is fighting him for it, and Remington is not sharing—no matter how the sparks fly when he and Adele are together. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night. If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author.

Sweet, sexy cowboy romance…

Adele and Remy, and their sassy kids, were so much fun to read! Brought together in a tussle over who’s family would be able to buy a ranch they all wanted meant friendly rivalry, a lot of hard work and love when you least expected it…

The story and its characters are down to earth and showed ranching life, life in general, with all the bumps and curves you’d expect. From the daily grind of hard work to the moments of fun and family, there was laughter and sweat, tears and snark. The kids were a hoot with the girls showing the city boys a thing or two. Even as quirky animals stole a scene or two, Adele and Remy corralled them all while navigating their new-found attraction. It was sexy and sweet at the same time, the writing modern but with an old-fashioned take on the simple things in life.

I can never get enough of this author’s characters and this story, this series, is the reason why! ~Diane, 4 stars

What a wonderful funny story from Carolyn Brown, it's what I expected from her and she sure did deliver! Adele has taken her two daughters and moved them to a ranch to be closer to her family, when she showed up she finds the seller has other ideas. Remy and his two orphaned nephews also bargaining for the same ranch, The seller, Walter, gave them the bargain of share the ranch for a month and whoever is left standing gets to claim the ranch. Now there are two households having to work together as one. Adele and her girls have been working a ranch for many years on her ex-husband's land and were now ready to claim their own ranch as seasoned ranchers only to be working along side a rancher with the reputation of a playboy and his city nephews. With a situation such as this it couldn't be anything but funny. Great characters, especially Adele's daughter Jett she's more than a hoot!

Carolyn Brown is an amazing author with the best characters and story lines. I did not want to put this down.

Adele and her two daughters want to start a new life for themselves and find the perfect ranch.

Remington (Remy) is a single cowboy enjoying life until his brother and sister in law die leaving him the guardian of their two sons. He finds the perfect ranch to do this.

Walter meets Adele and Remy and their kids and comes up with a scheme: they will all live on his ranch for a month while he takes a cruise with his lady friend.

At first everyone disagrees on things and it is boys vs girls but they all quickly learn to work together and along the way they become a family.

Adele and Remy decide to become partners so the kids do not have to say goodbye to each other. They end up taking the family one step further by getting married and buy Walter's ranch together.

Read this for the second time,

Somehow, I read Talk Cowboy to Me + the next two, without realizing there were three earlier books when I started this one, this time. I will get them all back on order and up-to-date in my Goodreads app.

Good book, great fun characters for this seventh-generation grandmama Texan plus hearing ranchin' and rodeoin' terms that I don't hear in the big big big metropolis. Most folks around hear are not from Texas AND have never attended a rodeo and several that don't even stand for our flag as it passes.
🐗🐴🐖🐅🐵 Now I am off to my next Carolyn book.

One perfect ranch. Two families in love with the property. Only one can claim it… or maybe not.

I confess to loving Carolyn Brown’s novels. They always give me those “feels good” reading moments with likable characters, interesting situations and the love of a couple and family at the forefront. Now we’re beginning a new series, and if this first story is any indication – it’s going to be another winning combination for this particular reader.

I like Adele and Remy. They’ve both had some life changing events happen to them recently and their worlds are slightly off kilter when they first meet. Yet when two adversaries start liking each other, working together, finding respect for the other’s situations then just maybe love can start to grow. Neither is a push over, both are stubborn and that makes for some interesting moments as these two families slowly find themselves blending more and more. What to do about the ranch – well, in the end it’s rather obvious.

Loved the kids and the secondary characters who I hope we’ll see again soon in their own stories. If you’re in the mood for a down home country romance then Talk Cowboy To Me is perfect for you. Plus, it’s always fun to get in on the beginning of a series and not have to catch up later. I’d recommend this story for any Romance reader who loves a good story, likable characters, emotional moments and quite possibly stubborn people. Grab some sweet tea, sit back on your version of the front porch swing and indulge yourself.

I liked the story line, but I was getting confused on the kids ages. It starts out talking about the girls being so young. and next thing you know, she's just talking about them with no real concept of their ages. Then it seemed like she forgot one was a teen calling them "young kids". Other than that, I did like the book and story line - I have read others from the family (love me a good cowboy romance!)

There was nothing wrong with this book, but I didn't love it. Reading the author's note at the end explained what probably happened. Turns out the hero is from a family featured in one of the author's series and the heroine is from another. So, I was probably already supposed to know and love them and just enjoy getting to revisit characters I already loved. Since I didn't, I wound up noticing that nothing much actually happened.

Talk Cowboy to me by Carolyn Brown has such charm and character I loved it. From the first page I was hooked. Remy is now a father to his two nephews after his brother and sister-in-law were in a accident and Adele newly divorced, with her two daughters, all looking at the same ranch to raise their children. They both have sight on the Double Deuce, but only one can win. A contest is formed and the best wins after agreeing to run the ranch for a month.
I could not put down this book it is so awesome and down to earth and heartwarming. I truly recommend this book and see who wins!
I won this book by a Goodreads giveaway and this is my own opinion.

Adele and Remy each come with 2 kids and each wants to buy the same ranch. They each think it's perfect for them, and the owner has them both stay for a month to see who he wants to pick to sell to. Needless to say, it starts out as confrontational, but quickly, the 2 families learn to work together to run the ranch. And of course, there is that spark between Adele and Remy that won't be denied!
