I just fell in love with this story!

This is the second book in the "Boston Love" series that I have read and reviewed, and it is soooo good! I just fell for Finn. He is a bad boy with a good heart and when he sees Rory, all bets are off. He doesn't even realize it! He is a huge romantic and it is so sweet to read!

Rory has a good heart and totally falls for Finn, but their love is shrouded by a big secret. One that will make their precious relationship very precarious.

The author wraps this story around family, work, and steamy passion. With laugh-out-loud scenes and tender, touching moments, this book is a fabulous read not to be missed! So Warm and loving.

H is a firefighter. And the h is the daughter of his coach. Where the dad has seen the H fucking around with another woman (that is before the H and h meet) She is being forbidden by her dad not to date any firefighters. But both are attracted to each other. And so the chase, push and pull.
Everything was fine. But when the H is assigned to look after the station dog (because the dad wants to give him hell time) the h accidentally meets him and helps him. And believe me it's just there second meeting and the h is cleaning the H's home because the dog has peed or pooped or just messed the H's things. (Such a doormat h). And the H is doing nothing to stop her instead he is sulking that the dog has ruined his place. If I was the h I would have just dumped the dogs poop on the H and would have never looked back.
And I was just lmao when the h was trying to peek at H's bedroom to see the size of his bed. Ugh.....stupid woman.

Review by Trinette Dungee

While the description of this book had me anxious to read it, when I actually started reading….I was pretty sure I wasn’t going to like it. I don’t know if it was because I didn’t right away like Finn or if it was because I had the feeling Rory was shaping up to be this highly successful career woman that was a mid-twenties virgin that was going to make me roll my eyes every five minutes. Whatever the case I had prepared myself to struggle with this book and I did struggle….to keep my eyes open at two in the morning because I really wanted to see how things ended for these two! I loved these guys!

Rory Adams works to prove that she didn’t just earn a position at her law firm because her mother is one of the partners. For that reason her social life has been pretty much non-existent and even the thought of a love life or a relationship is so far off the radar that NASA would have to issue a space shuttle recovery mission to bring it within the realm of possibility.

When she lands a case that has her defending one of Boston’s Firemen she stumbles across Finn Ward. He’s insanely hot, he has a reputation for being a player and he just happens to work in her father’s firehouse….one thing her father has forbid her to do is get involved with a fireman. For most of her life she’s allowed her life to be navigated by her parents and she’s pretty much done what they’ve asked of her. But there is something about Finn Ward that has her willing to push the limits with her parents and let the chips fall where they may.

Finn Ward loves his job, his family and his dating life. He’s got plenty of time to think about settling down. When he sees Rory Adams at a meeting at the Firehouse he’s instantly attracted to her and has her listed as his next conquest. Unfortunately Rory just happens to be the daughter of his station house Captain, the Captain who just happens to hate his guts, the Captain who hates him so much he’s put him charge of training the new station house dog who likes to literally rip his apartment apart.

Rory and Finn have several run-ins before she finally agrees to go out with him and when they do, they click instantly; but there’s that little issue of her dad. So they agree to date but keep it from her father until Rory finds the right time to announce it her parents. During this time Finn realizes that Rory definitely isn’t just a conquest, she isn’t just a girl that he wants to date (something he’s never done before), and he realizes that not only does he want to introduce her to his family but he realizes that Rory is actually THE ONE.

As I mentioned, I really didn’t think I was going to like these two but I swear I just loved them! They were sweet, funny and Finn was so damned romantic it wasn’t funny. There were quite a few moments in the story that were really cliché but the way Kelly wove them into the story she just made them really work. What was even more surprising was the feeling that I kind of knew these characters and then realized that this was book number two in her Boston Love series and I’d actually read the book one about Finn’s brother Preston and his now wife Harmony.

I loved the other characters in the book as well, especially Flash, the dog. The love/hate relationship between Finn and him was hilarious. The two characters in the book that I didn’t care for were Russell and Rick, Rory’s dad. Well Russell was insignificant but Rory’s dad…this guy was a tough one. On the one hand he was a pretty cool guy who loved his daughter but on the other hand, he was a jerk that stood in the way of his daughter’s happiness. By the end I didn’t know if I hated him or sympathized with him.

I really enjoyed this book except for two things; 1. Rory’s reaction to Finn’s um…..”Member”….”will it fit?” Insert eye-roll…Ugh that drives me bananas anytime I read it in a book. Babies come out of there…OF COURSE IT WILL FIT! 2. The way things were left with Rory and her dad. I’m a closure girl….this relationship was left wide open. I need to know exactly how things ended with them!

Definitely a good read. If you haven’t read it, be sure to read Searching for Harmony (Preston and Harmony’s story). Can’t wait to see whose story is next. Will it be one of the remaining Ward siblings; older brother Wes, younger sister Angie, Angie’s friend Alexis or will it be one of Rory’s friends or maybe Finn’s friend Colton.

Fantastic story! This second book in the Boston Love series was simply wonderful. Finn Ward makes no apologies for his lifestyle. Hardworking firefighter, hard playing bachelor. No need to change as far as he could see. The fact that his new boss doesn't like his fun loving ways isn't his concern. Then he meets the lovely Rory Adams. She's a lawyer who represents the firefighters union. She's hardworking and doesn't have time for much of a personal life. Finn takes this as a challenge to get her to loosen up. One little problem. That new boss that already doesn't like him just happens to be Rory's father. Problems ahead - you bet!!

This is really a well done story. Lots of humor, low angst, and great characters including an amazingly adorable dog! I highly recommend this one!

Kelly Elliott has done it again and delivered another fantastic romance book! Fighting for Love is a contemporary romance and is book two in her Boston Love series.
Finn Ward is a play-boy fire-fighter who does not really finding the right woman, in fact, one woman to settle down with in his near future. His brother may have found that happiness with the love of his life, but Finn hasn’t found that one special woman who can make him see beyond a few hours of fun. That all changes when Finn meets Rory Adams, a beautiful lawyer who stops him dead in his track. All of a sudden Finn can see more than simple lust-filled nights with many women, all he sees is Rory. But, Rory is the daughter of the fire chief, Finn’s boss, who is always quite vocal about keeping his daughter away from fire fighters. Particularly, he wants his daughter far away from Finn.
Now Rory herself has noticed there is this attraction between them and she too feels attraction towards Finn. Rory doesn't have much experience with men or relationships so she doesn’t know what to think , especially with Finn who is so much more experienced. Only thing is her father is against her dating Finn…but she doesn’t want to listen to her father. She wants to see where this thing with Finn is going so she hides the fact from her father she is dating Finn. During this time when they are dating, Finn comes to the realization that Rory definitely isn’t just a conquest, she isn’t just a girl that he wants to date, ---he realizes that not only does he want to introduce her to his family now , which he hasn’t ever wanted to do before with any other girl he has dated but he realizes that Rory is actually the one, the one for him, for life.

Finn and Rory and such a great match, and what I loved most about them was how genuine they are. They were sweet, funny, sexy together and Finn was so romantic and alpha, it was soo cute. I also loved the other characters in the book as well, especially Flash, the dog. This was a feel good romance which I highly recommend as a great romance read if you like feel good romance.

One of the best books Kelly has ever written! A true-must read novel if ever there was one, for lovers of romance and Kelly both. - The British Bibliophile

Thank you to Kelly Elliott for sending me an ebook Advanced Readers copy for me to read and leave an honest review, as part of her ARC team

NOTE - This review will contain no spoilers, as always, but will make reference to elements within the book's blurb. So if you wish to go into this read without knowing a thing about it, please scroll away from my review...now

Fighting For Love is a re-publication of Kelly's original book of the same name, which was first published on April 4th 2017. This is the second novel within the Boston Love series and is a complete standalone so it can be read independently from the first book.

Book One, Searching For Harmony was also a re-release of the book with the name name, but one I have yet to re-read myself. It was a surprise re-release for even us closest Kelly Elliott readers, so I've got it on my TBR to re-read very soon. It, like Fighting For Love is a standalone read. Which means it can be independently read from others in the series but as I always recommend with standalones with more than one book in the series, go back to the first book purely for context. Kelly always does a great job at dropping nuggets of information as to who's who, as well as what's happened with who, you'll get the full feel for the world the series in and the supporting characters who'll pop up in more than one book.

*Please note* -- if you do decide to read these re-releases and would like to leave a review here on Goodreads afterwards, please leave them on the new listings with the new covers. Not the old--original--book's listing!

What happens when a flirty, live-in-the-moment fireman with a reputation meets a career-driven, focused woman? Embers, sparks and plenty of embers AND sparks. Good thing that there's a fireman around with his very own hose to douse the budding flames if need be. His job--not that he knows it at first--is to inspire the lawyer to loosen up and join him in his live-in-the-moment attitude, as well as trusting in the power of love. A lot easier than it sounds, but luckily for her, he's not the guy to give up on a good thing no matter how forbidden or cautious she may be.

Finn Ward is a simple man. In his life there are only two passions: enjoying his life as a firefighter and coveting his bachelor status as a single man. Nothing more, nothing less. Not everyone in his life sees things though his eyes, however. His loving parents often remind him that he needs to find someone and settle down with them. That's a big 'hell no' for Finn. He just wants to have fun while he's young enough to enjoy himself. At least, that's what he's told himself and lived by right up until he attends a union meeting he really doesn't want to be at and like the flip of a light switch, it seems that settling down doesn't seem as bad after all.

Rory Adams, a fresh-out-of-school lawyer, is seeking to make a name for herself in the big, competitive world of law while working for her mother's firm. Not easy to do when anyone and everyone assumes things about you because your mother owns the firm, and everyone thinks what they want to about you. Rory doesn't then have time for silly games. She's a woman on a mission and is determined to keep on track and achieve her goals. Cue a certain fireman in a certain meeting they're both attending, and those plans of hers to stay on track are thus immediately detailed. This is where those smouldering embers between them, kick in. Only, it looks like they're to be doused before they have a chance to catch, because the man who Finn works for so happens to be Rory's father. She is a forbidden flame to his striking hot match.

Neither of them saw the other person coming. Not even a mile away. Both aren't looking for the other and certainly nothing permanent to tie them down with, but they didn't envision such a strong reaction and connection that sparked and continues to keep them together. The smouldering embers are now a fully-lit fire. One they have to keep under control so that only they can feel the heat and no one else. Their time together turns everything upside down in the best of ways. Finn's wild ways are tamed by Rory and in turn, he shows her a good time and proves that you can have fun without dedicating your whole life to work you might not even be enjoying.

Fires can only be tamed for so long before they run wild and out of control. The same can be said for Rory and Finn's "secret" romance. Tendrils of flame sneak ever closer to those whom they've kept out of their secret circle, threatening permanent risk of being extinguished. Will Finn and Rory survive the smoke and mirrors, truths and lies to get to the other side? Or will they become victims of their own burning desire? There's only one way to find out.

Seven years ago when I read this story for the first time, I liked it. Though I was heavily into cowboys and small-town romance at the time--Kelly's stories included, of course--, I had a soft spot for the occasional non-cowboy and Finn was one of those men. All these years on, re-reading and re-discovering his and Rory's story only cemented why I liked them so much in the first place. The only thing that's changed is I no longer like this story, I love it! Firefighters are one of my literary--and real life--weaknesses, and I've definitely fallen for Finn all over again.

Thank you to Kelly for not only giving me one of my top reads of the month, but of the year! Everyone should discover (or rather, re-discover in some cases), Finn and Rory and find out why sometimes getting too close to the fire won't always get you burned.

Five stars!

I read the first book in the series and I was glad to see there was more. This was a nice read. The story had me interested to see how it would all play out. Finn is a playboy firefighter and Rory is a lawyer who is solely focused on her job. When these two meet, there is an instant attraction. While Finn would love to get to know Rory more, Rory does her best to avoid him. There are some obstacles that would say this pairing is a bad idea but the chemistry can not be denied. I liked how Finn chased after Rory-the effort that he put in was so romantic. He was determined and put everything out on the table to get her. When Rory finally gives in, it was hot and sweet. I enjoyed seeing the progression of their relationship and the depth of their feelings. They were just so good together. I really liked Finn’s family. They were the best. Seeing Preston and Harmony again (couple from thee first book) and reading about them living out their lives was fantastic. Rory’s friends were also great and I liked how they really cared for her. Now there were some parts and people that I wasn’t a fan of that really deterred the story for me but I was still about to finish since I needed to know how it would go. I am intrigued about the older brother Wes and their sister Angie. I hope Kelly gives them each a story. Overall, this was an okay-good read.

I was given the opportunity to read the ARC of Fighting For Love in exchange for an honest review. Fighting for Love is book 2 in the A Boston Lover Series. I am a huge Kelly Elliott fan and book 1 of this series Searching for Harmony was one of my favorites. I always enjoy when Kelly writes outside of her normal country and who doesn't love a HOT Firefighter!?!?!?! Finn and Rory's story is steamy and beautiful. I think Kelly captured Finn and his love for firefighting perfectly and I love how he and Rory were drawn to each other. Totally recommend!!!!

This was my first book by Kelly Elliott, and it was seriously cute. There are some wonderful LOL lines and scenes in this book involving dogs and childbirth and general awkwardness. This is a mostly light and fun book, but the angst around Rory's parents and her sleezo work partner is genuinely hard and a bit heartbreaking. I liked that -- it gave the novel unexpected depth and extra "feels".

I read a lot of romance, and it's hard to find a book that feels really "fresh", but this one did. Rory is a strong female character, a lawyer, yet she's also sheltered and a little awkward, sweet and funny. Finn is a fireman and a womanizer, but as soon as he sees Rory he decides she's the only woman for him. Maybe that's unrealistic, but it's lovely to read in any case. Finn ends up being a true romantic, always doing crazy things for Rory, like giving her roses and fairy lights and secret letters.

The main stress in the book comes from Rory's father, aka Finn's boss, who is dead set against Rory dating any fireman (because he doesn't want Rory to live a life of worrying about her man, the way Rory's mother did) and he particular dislikes Finn. Between the stress of worrying about her dad finding out, and then the fallout that happens when he does, it was a nice, meaty subplot that, as I said above, adds a nice balance and maturity to an otherwise sweet romcom book.

There's definitely some sexual tension and then steam in this book, but the sex scenes didn't go on for pages or feel like page fillers, which I appreciated.

This book is clearly part of a series, since other characters were mentioned that I assume were featured in other books, and/or being set-up to be featured. I enjoyed this book as a stand-alone, but I'm really interested in reading more of the series.

I received this book as an ARC from netgalley.

Finn is a player. He's a good-looking firefighter and always gets a lot of attention from women. When he meets Rory at a union meeting he knows straight away that she's more important to him than every other woman he's ever been with. There's one problem though, Rory is his captain's daughter and Finn knows his boss doesn't particularly like him. That doesn't stop Finn from going after the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with. Will they have a chance together?

Rory doesn't have much experience with men. She studied hard and is now a lawyer with a promising career at her mother's law firm. When Rory meets Finn she finally realizes that she never has any fun and that it's time to live a little. However, her father doesn't approve of her choices and she will have to keep their relationship from him, because she's afraid Finn will suffer when he finds out. It works for a while, but they know things can't go on like that forever. Will Rory's father be able to break them up or is Rory's bond with Finn strong enough to survive the pressure?

Fighting for Love is a beautiful story about true love. Finn has been with plenty of women, but they never meant anything to him. When he meets Rory he's head over heels in love straight away, which was wonderfully endearing to see. He's kind to her and he showers her with compliments. He makes Rory feel treasured and wanted and that was amazing to read about. Rory is a good girl with plenty of skills and an excellent brain. She's a sweetheart who tries to make everybody happy. She often forgets herself in the process, but being with Finn teaches her who she really is and what she wants in life. They complement one another and are a great match. Their connection is special, they have plenty of chemistry and it's obvious from the beginning that they are soul mates.

Kelly Elliott has written a story filled with strong emotions and I loved that about Fighting for Love. She's empathic, but her story never becomes too heavy. I liked her honesty, she describes both the good and the bad side of love. Her characters are believable and the problems they're dealing with are realistic. She writes about family, friends and pets in a fabulous warm and truthful way. Together with the tender, but passionate love story this makes Fighting for Love very complete. I absolutely loved this romantic heartwarming story.

Fighting for Love is the second book in the contemporary romance series, called Boston Love by Kelly Elliott. Each of the books can be read as standalones. Fighting For Love is my first book in the series, and I had no problem following and enjoying the story. If you like fun and relatively low drama romances, Fighting For Love is a great book for you to check out. I really liked this one, and I can't wait to read more from Kelly Elliott. This was the perfect feel good read.

Fighting For Love is the story of Rory and Finn. Finn is a firefighter and Rory is a law school graduate hoping to make her way as a new lawyer. (so it was really easy for me to put myself in her shoes...I wonder why. And also, does that mean I get to keep Finn for myself?? Please say yes Kelly!) Finn and Rory and such a great match, and what I loved most about them was how genuine they are. They really tried to get to know each other and get to know what is important to to the other person and I loved that about them. I loved even more that I could feel their genuine-ness leap right off the page. Kelly Elliott is clearly a very gifted writer and making characters feel like real people and feel very fleshed out. I fell in love right alongside the characters.

Bottom line: if you are looking for a feel good romance, look no further the Boston Love series is for you. Whether you start with Fighting for Love or start with book one, you will enjoy the sweet character driven romances. I need to read more by Kelly, because I really loved this book. It was a sweet romance that had me smiling. Plus, lawyer and firefighter. Yes please! Fighting for love is tons of fun full of great characters, a sweet romance and plenty of swoony moments.

Finn Ward is enamoured with Rory Adams and Rory Adams is incredibly attracted to Finn Ward too. However, there are obstacles that get in their way. This book has many different facets involved but the main thing that I love about this book is the way that it focuses on a woman’s love for a man she knows she can’t have.

The forbidden element to this book makes my heart hurt and weigh heavily at time but this book touches my heart. Kelly has a way of making you feel and feel hard for these characters.

The fear and anxiety of a specific person in this book majorly annoyed me because this person was attempting to control the whole situation out of their own distorted interpretation of happiness. This was a driving force throughout the book. This hurt my heart more than once and it made me want to crawl into the book and hug them all to make them feel better.

Alas, I wasn’t able to do that but this book was a solid book, Kelly blew it out of the park and I am looking forward to reading more from this author soon!

Simply put this book was AH-MAZING!!!!
Every time I start a book by Kelly I wonder what kind of awesome am I going to find. As usual she didn't disappoint.
Rory and Finn's love story was beautiful. Plus it was set in Boston one of my very favorite places.
Rory Adams is such a spitfire when it comes to her work. It's all about work.
Finn Ward is a firefighter...Enough said
Fate always steps in, Rory and Finn meet at a union meeting. That's all I will say because it's a spoiler free review. But I will say this is another hit for Kelly.

Manwhore that is caught screwing a woman by the h’s dad (before they get together). Nope. And the h is very inexperienced - why is this always the case with manwhores? Damnit, I don’t want a man to “teach” me...enough. The rest was meh, but never got past this.

"Fighting for Love" is a hilarious read that grabs ya quick and doesn't let ya go until the end. Only read this book if you have time to invest in the whole story ... I couldn't put it down. Read it in one night.

Kelly Elliott's Boston firefighters are something else. They play hard and fast until THE one comes along. Then they fall even harder and dedicate themselves to that person more fiercely than to their first love... being firefighters.

And that Ward family! How can you not fall for them all? They are all great. Everything you'd want: warm, caring, supportive, close and honest too.

Really enjoyed Finn Ward's rapid transformation from player to all-in partner. He saw Rory Adams and that was it for him. He pursues her with passion, ready to pull out all of the romantic stops to get her.

Rory was pretty smitten too.

She's interested bUt time and Finn's profession are seemingly insurmountable obstacles in the way.

As a dutiful daughter she's only had time for one lackluster relationship back in college because of all the time she spent studying for a law degree. Since then she's been putting in endless hours winning cases to prove herself at her mom's law firm. With no easing in sight. So while a quick sexual encounter might sound good, she really doesn't have the time; she's just started a new case, working under a real jerk attorney who treats her as if she's there to pacify mon and look pretty-- and even trues to make a move on her. So who has the time.

Besides, she's not sure what the big deal about sex is anyway. It's been lackluster at best, at least in her limited experience with her college beau. She can give herself a better orgasm, so why bother? Except just locking eyes with Finn at a seminar has her all amped up.

Plus Rory's dad is a fireman too. So she l knows the strain of waiting hours while your man's at work in a fire, hoping he cones home and OK each time.

And, Jim Adams is Finn's captain. So not only has Rory's dad forbidden her to date or get involved with firemen on general principle -- he can attest to their bad behavior and unworthiness first hand - he specifically at the mention of the fireman's name especially warns her against any contact with Finn and his BFFS. He says he can attest to just how much of a womanizer Finn is. He also makes no bones about the fact that he doesn't like him. In fact, Captain Adams made Finn take the new station dog, a Dalmatian puppy named Flash, home with him to train.

It's Flash that brings Rory and Finn together initially. She sees him with the unruly pup. He ends up injured. She goes home with them to help, then offers to go with him to help get dog gear. Several bags later they return to discover Flash has ransacked his apartment, including tearing up his new couch.

So, when Rory finally gives in and agrees to a date... things progress fast with this pair. He does romantic things for her all day and introduces her to the side of him few ever see, then has to hide in bushes at the park to keep her dad from seeing them together. Daddy Adams reiterates she's never to date a fireman and stay especially away from Finn. The date ends at the hospital, where Finn's sister-in-law is giving birth. Both Preston Ward and Finn end up passing out in the delivery room and Rory coaches SIL through delivery.

Despite all of that Rory just can't stay away from Finn. Their relationship grows at an exponential rate, but there are still the basic obstacles which continue to grow. Finn and Rory can't help themselves or keep their hands off of each other. No need for a match around these two, just catch a spark off the inferno blazing between them.

Soon it becomes apparent they're going to have to tell her dad before he catches them sneaking around or someone else tell him.

Elliott throws a few monkey wrenches in the works, including a few secrets (one really sweet and one wtf-ah ha!) plot twists that I didn't see coming and an inevitable ultimatum and decision that promises hurt and sacrifice regardless.

Thank you NetGalley and Random House Publishing-Loveswept for a sleepless night spent with this pair and their pals. Eager to see what's the next Boston Love Novel brings.

The one thing that I wasn't crazy about was switching point of views between the two main characters every chapter. Most of the time it was an easy adjustment, and was nice to see inside both leads thoughts. But there were a few times I had to go back to make sure I was in the right POV; felt kinda like whiplash a few times when it did't transition equally each time.

If you don't like profanity in you stories, this isn't a book you. Finn's POV is just that. And he thinks and talks mostly like a firman and just all around guy/ player. Rory's BFFs also talk like modern women who like to have fun. For me, that added to the authenticity of the characters and setting.

As I sat down to write this review, I went through some of my past reviews for Kelly Elliot. She has written so many of my favorite book boyfriends its crazy. And I don't mean the kind of book boyfriends that you swear you'll love forever and then forget when the next boy comes along. I mean book boyfriends that I think about long after I've finished reading the book. Example number one Gunner Mathews. From the day I read that book, Gunner has had a tight hold on my heart. Then I met Lark Williams and swooooooooon.

But no one has come close to Gunner's perfection, until the Ward brothers came onto the scene. You met Preston in Searching For Harmony and now in Fighting For Love you meet his older brother Finn.

Oh my glitter! Finn Ward is actual physical perfection. Like his brother Preston, Finn is a firefighter, so we know his body is on point. He's broad chested and covered with lean, hard muscles. His eyes are green and his hair is dark and tousled. There is not a more perfect specimen in this girl's opinion.
He is super gorgeous and the women love him. And let's just say Finn takes full advantage of his gorgeousness. That is until he sees the stunning Rory Adams and every other girl seems to fade away.

I am all about instalove and that's what happens in Fighting For Love. Rory works for a law firm that represents the firemen's union. Her first meeting at the fire station, Rory and Finn lock eyes and from that moment on, they can't stop thinking about each other. Finn starts asking around about Rory, only to find out, the girl that he can't get out of his mind is the daughter of his boss Captain Adams. Oh, and just to make it more interesting, for an adorable reason from his past, Cap doesn't really like Finn.

Rory Adams is a definite workaholic. She's very driven and wants nothing more than to please her mom and dad. The law firm she works at, is where her mother is a partner, so she always feels like she has to prove herself. People in the firm are always waiting to see her fail, so she always feels like she has to be perfect. Add to that her dad has specifically told her she cannot date any firemen and crushing on Finn Ward is not a good idea. And dating him on the sneak can't possibly end well.

After a few chance encounters, misunderstandings and rejections, Rory decides to give Finn a chance and go out to dinner with him. Their connection is incredibly strong and unbelievably hot. Burning hot like I need to fan myself because I'm going to spontaneously combust hot.

I thought Finn's brother Preston was perfect? Sweet Lord, Finn made all of my parts tingle. The intensity of their attraction was apparent to everyone. They literally couldn't keep their hands off of each other. When they finally give in to their desires, together they are flaming hot.

Finn's friends tell him he's playing with fire (literally). If he gets caught, he can get transferred, or worse, Captain could fire him. It doesn't matter to Finn because he's falling hard for Rory. Rory hates keeping a secret from her parents, but she's falling equally hard for Finn. They know it's going fast, but it feels right and they're not letting go.

I love Kelly Elliot's writing style. It's so natural and flows into a beautiful story each and every time. She has the ability to make you fall in love with people from the pages of her books. If you haven't tried her Boston Love series yet, give it a one click. It's as sweet and charming as the Wanted series everyone knows and loves.

Four sweet and charming stars for Finn Ward and Fighting For Love.

Fighting For Love by Kelly Elliott is my favorite book this year. I fell in love with it right from the start. It has that impact moment where it draws you in for more until your locked in with your heart. I couldn’t stop reading it and I couldn’t stop. It felt like I was in the story myself. I was so committed to it. Kelly Elliott has this way about her words and storyline that make you fall in love over and over again. Fighting For Love was the book that you want your life to be like. It makes you want a romance just as perfect as Finn and Rory.

Kelly Elliott gives us this instant romance from the start. I feel the chemistry when these two characters meet for the first time. It is not rushed and I could feel it progressing at the perfect rate. These characters run into problems just like all other romances but can they overcome the fact that Rory’s father is Finn’s boss? Will their love burn fierce even though Rory’s father is determined to stop it?

There isn’t one thing I hated about this book. It was in love with everything. Finn was the perfect book boyfriend and I have declared him mine. He is so sweet and romantic. He is a firefighter and a player at first but once he sets his eyes on Rory it is like no one else exists. This has to be why I loved him so deeply. He had this strength, passion, and persistence that was unbelievable fierce. Finn is the kind of guy every girl wants. Not only did we get the amazing Finn, but we also got Flash. And goodnesss gracious, this book had me laughing so hard. It was full on romance with funny moments that made you giggle nonstop.

Enough about Finn, let me talk about Rory too. This girl was one of my favorite heroines. She knew how to handle Finn and she rocked her career as well. I loved how she unfolded throughout the book. I got all the feels with this book. I felt the love flowing as well as anger and passion. This book gave it all to me.

Finn Ward will now be one of my top book boyfriends. Kelly Elliott wrote the perfect book in Fighting For Love. She did everything right with it. I know that this will now be one of my top Kelly Elliott books ever!

Finn is a sexy, playboy firefighter who falls head-over-heels for Rory, a gorgeous lawyer who also happens to be his Captain’s daughter. Knowing his Captain has some kind of serious grudge against him, Finn knows he has his work cut out for him. Rory has grown up with her dad constantly forbidding her to date a fireman, what are the chances that the one man to completely knock her off her feet not only happens to be a fireman, but one who works for her father!

Fighting for Love is a fun romance I enjoyed reading. There are several laugh-out-loud moments, especially with the station dog Flash and his hilarious antics. There is an undeniable chemistry between Finn and Rory. Their romance was sweet, fun and flirtatious, sexy and romantic. I was wrapped up in their story from early on. Only a few things really stood out for me. I would like to have seen Rory stand up more to her father. She appeared so strong and confident in all other areas, but for a 26 year old woman, I felt she was pathetically weak when it came to her father. I hated how her father felt he could control her life when it came to men. His reaction to the relationship and throughout the rest of the book was appalling. I wish there would have been some type of resolve concerning his behavior. Maybe, hopefully, there will be in a later book in the series. Also, I would have loved to have seen some type of reprimand for Russell – especially what he said to her in the office that morning. His character and attitude seemed like it was going to play into something, but then it was gone with no real explanation.

Boston is a city I haven't been to yet, and this book has made my travel bug itchy, especially if I came across a firefighter like Finn! He has a lot of qualities we all love in our BBFs, loyalty and trust being right up there. He is someone you can depend upon and trust your life with. He even loves dogs! It is going to take one special woman to curve his player ways, and he feels that Rory is that woman, if only he could get a date with her.

Rory, is a lawyer working for her mother's firm, trying to make a name for herself and not coast on her mother's laurels. This takes a lot of hard work and long hours, and relationships will have to be put on the back burner. That is until she sees Finn at a Union meeting, and is smitten with him from the very start. Except with work and the long standing agreement she has with her firefighter Captain dad, that she never dates a fireman, this just can't work, unless......

I enjoyed reading this book, even though it was a bit repetitive and drawn out. Rory's character was naive and inexperienced due to her parents being controlling, but she also grated on me a little. There were also some story line discrepancies that annoyed me, like the lead council of the case Rory was working on. His harassment behaviour when working on a harassment case was ironic. I do believe the secondary characters brought this book a more pleasurable read. If you enjoy family sagas, then you will like this series.

I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book.

Kelly Elliott did it again!! I love The Wards!! That family is amazing and the women those boys choose, ❤️.

Rory meets Finn at a meeting for firefighters where she's an attorney and he works for her dad. They were attracted to each other immediately but Rory was afraid to go on a date with Finn because her das prohibited her from dating firefighters and also because he disliked Finn based on his reputation.

With all those warnings, Rory still took a chance on Finn and it was the best thing she ever did. They both taught each other so many things and Finn started changing for the better. The only problem was Rory's father. While Finns' family welcomed her with open arms, Rory had to hide their relationship from her dad. Just so you know I hated her dad. He manipulated and blackmailed her forgetting she was a 26 year old adult.

Things happened and you'll root for these two. I felt sorry for Rory because everyone wanted to control her. But then things get better. Loved reading about Preston & Harmony, ❤️. It's also good to see that Rory is a Red Sox fan like me, lol.

Another 5 stars on this amazing series!!

Rory's dad just asks one thing of her. DO NOT DATE A FIREMAN. But wouldn't you know it... the guy who has caught her eye just so happens to be a fireman and also in her father's unit. Oh yeah, and did I mention he's the firehouse manwhore too?

Finn Ward has never felt this way about anyone. When he catches the beautiful brunette's eye at the Firemen's Union Meeting, he has to find out who this woman is.

Once the two connect, sparks fly and neither seems to care what the her father has to say about this... they are made for each other. But life doesn't always work out the way you plan. and Rory must make the decision that will end up making both of them miserable.

I love Finn and Rory. They are through the roof fun and sexy together. Totally made for each other. I love Finn's family too and the dynamic between the siblings and their parents.

Once I start one of Kelly's books, I can never seem to step away. I devour them and am always left wanting more. I adore this series and can't wait for more of the Ward Family!

A hot firefighter , a strong female lawyer ...
Finn and Rory are made for each other from the very beginning. But things get complicated when Finn never planned to settle down before meeting Rory

"Was I capable of falling in love and being with one woman only? "

and when family drama and secret start interfering with Rory's relationship and happiness.

"I’ll never forget the moment when our eyes first met across that room. The way it made me feel was something I had never experienced before. "

The love between Finn and Rory is so passionate and romantic ... they MADE LOVE ❤️

FIGHTING LOVE is my first book by Kelly Elliott and I'm definitely going to read her other ones.

Finn and Rory meet and feel an instant connection. She is an attorney for the firefighter's union and her did is Finn's boss, the captain of the firehouse he works at. Rory has been an obedient daughter her whole life and her parents have plotted out her every move. Finn has a close family but his parents let him live his life. Neither one was looking for love or to settle down, but that's exactly what happens when they finally get to know each other. Rory works at her mother's law firm and it is constantly insinuated that she is getting preferential treatment. Her co-worker was obnoxious and should have been disciplined for some of his inappropriate comments and behavior. Finn knows his captain doesn't like him but doesn't know why. Rory does not know how to stand up to her parents but slowly comes to realize she needs to live her life for her, not them. Finn and Rory get backed into a corner by her father and Rory, in my opinion, took the coward's way out. Instead of communicating with Finn as to what was going on, she caves. I was astounded at how ridiculous her father acted. Their relationship was fast building and didn't slow down the whole book. Their road was bumpy but worth the ride. I received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.

I liked Rory I found her adorable, "...then I heard you moan and I thought you were sick, or worse yet that there was a girl in here, and I came in here and you were all spread-eagle on your bed.” I used my arms and spread them wide because for some stupid reason I felt like he needed a demonstration. “Then I saw your . . . your . . . you know.” I pointed at his ***k." I really loved this book, it had so much humor, and it wasn't hard to fall in love with Finn.

Two hours into the audiobook and I had enough. I know the book is pretty well rated, but... IDK. It just didn’t do it for me. Not a fan of the h... nor her father. The first kiss between the H and the h.... awkward (and not in the least realistic.)
