Rate this book
The Imtihan al-alibba li-kaffat al atibba (The Experts' Examination for All Physicians) is the oldest known Islamic medical examination, prepared by al-Sulami, the chief of medicine to the Ayyubid sultan in Cairo 596-604 AH (1200-08 AD). Gary Leiser, a historian now running an air museum in California, and Semitic language scholar Noury al-Khaledy (1918-95) offer an Arabic edition and an English translation based on the three extant manuscripts from Vienna, Bursa, and Cairo.
