Model Railway - The Largest Model Train Layout of The World - Picture Book

Rate this book
Railway modelling or model railroading is a hobby in which rail transport systems are modelled at a reduced scale. The scale models include locomotives, rolling stock, streetcars, tracks, signalling and landscapes including: countryside, roads, buildings, vehicles, model figures, lights, and features such as rivers, hills, and canyons. The Miniature Wonderland is a model railway exhibition in Hamburg, Germany, and the largest of its kind in the world. In September 2015 the railway consisted of 15,400 square metres or 50,525 feet of track in HO scale, divided into nine sections: Denmark, Switzerland, Norway, America, Germany, Sweden, Airport, Austria and Hamburg. The model takes 1,300 square metres or 13,993 square feet. The exhibit includes 930 trains made up of over 14,450 carriages, 335,000 lights, 228,000 trees, and 215,000 human figurines.
