Legion: A Man Possessed

As Tob twisted and strained at the chains, on the floor of the cave, they began to lengthen and break one by one. Freed, he lay bathed in sweat, exhausted. The voices in his head screamed for him to get up and avenge himself against such treatment. They wouldn't stop. He slammed his head against the wall and scrapped jagged pieces of rock across his chest, arms, and legs, anything to transfer the pain. In a craze, he ran headlong into the wall of the cave intending to stop the agony once for all, accomplishing only a temporary reprieve. Late in the night, he awoke, head and body protesting, as the sweat and blood mingled into the lacerations. His whole body stung, but that was welcomed. At least for now, the voices were quiet. He lay in the filth, enjoying the moment, for he knew they'd be back. He shuddered as he heard the moans and screams coming from other quarters of the tombs and knew at times they heard his. Can a man delve so deeply into the regions of darkness that he can't be redeemed? The man we know only as Legion would soon find out.
