EM has a piece of something for everyone; I was originally attracted to the book for the illustrations of EM who was created by the author herself Leaf Edniwinga. These illustrations looked most appealing to my eyes and I found it most unique how a simple stick figure could turn out to be such a strong force to me, as well as the other characters the flower and the cat (My favorite character) all illustrations you could see you could tell were drawn with care and love.
But, not only were the illustrations appealing but so was the story line, the story line to me kept me reading kept me excited and emotional at some of the emotional scenes especially the part where EM and the cat had to say goodbye due to a fork on their path, this gave me an overwhelming blast from the past of the times I have had to say goodbye to people due to a fork in the path, so it made me feel so emotional for EM and the cat.
I tend to not like to give out to much about the story lines within books but I will say one thing, that don’t let a simple illustration book turn you away because you may think it is too childish, EM is certainly not just for children although it does give good messages out to children, there is something for everyone to enjoy within EM! I strongly recommend EM to anyone’s book collection.
