A good exploration of possible directions to take in journaling. Mostly just skimming the surface of what some people before have done

Turns out I didn't get much out of this after all. I think this is definitely a "before the internet was really a thing" book. Lots of voices telling small stories- even more quotes peppering the pages. I don't know. The presentation just felt very 90's- very dated. It was like reading a thick magazine about how different people journal, and their feelings about it.
Overall, the content just wasn't clicking with me. I'd rather journal than read about other people doing it.

Everything you wanted to know about journals!
The author did a wonderful job of breaking down the usefulness of journals, types of journals: both from a healing perspective, as well as those interested in the craft of writing. Also borrowing from other noted experts, the descriptions and examples were easy to follow.
Would especially recommend to those new to keeping a journal.

As someone looking to take my journaling to the next step, I did not find this very helpful. It may be a good book for a beginner.
