Authentic Power

Rate this book
In this thought-provoking dialogue, author Gary Zukav and New Dimensions Radio host Michael Toms probe the possibilities that open when Spirit becomes a real and ever-present force in our lives.

Venturing beyond the realm he delved into with the classic, The Dancing Wu Li Masters, Zukav expands his vision, penetrating the fascinating complexities of human experience with a new theory of personal reality. He explains how we create the events in our lives with our thoughts and intentions, and puts us in touch with an ability to transform ourselves and the planet by accepting our own inherent, authentic power. Gary Zukav is also the author of The Seat of the Soul.

Interesting to meet again an important Mind from an earlier time.

I first read Gary Zukav’s Wu Li Masters forty years ago and it affected me deeply. It wasn’t that I was a student of The New Physics or Ancient Eastern Philosophy but rather that I was ignorant of both. Why I chose to read that book is even now a total mystery to me, but I’m very glad I did because both of those disciplines have fascinated me and, in some ways, guided me ever since.

To hear his words again in this book is strangely comforting but also unsettling in a way. It’s not completely unexpected that his Mind has evolved from his earlier writing, but discomforting that he has so fully embraced the New Age Movement in his Heart and in his every expression.

His Philosophy is soft and warm, and the sentiments he expresses are so simple and straightforward while at the same time couched in all the clichéd, fabulist terminology of reincarnated souls passing through past lives in alternate Universes. It’s a little like Mr. Rogers channeling Shirley MacLaine.

It was nice to read Zukav again, but, in the same way that I listen politely to the Credos of Believers and remain unmoved and unconvinced, I think I will continue to take my Life Lessons and Guidance directly from Lao Tse, The Stoics, and The Heart Sutra, and content myself to try to drag my poor Soul through this one and only Life while I have it.
