Same as the first, and hate to repeat myself, however, I loved the first few chapters, very interesting. I’ve read a lot of mysteries with a lot of political stuff but there was also enough intrigue you didn’t notice the political BS. Not so in these novels. Raw steak barely seared on the outside.
I had to skip through the middle of the book, reading just enough to see what was happening then get on through the not-so-interesting heavenly political stuff to finally reach the end to find out what is happening at the end. Good stuff. He’s a good writer, if not for those parts. Too bad the rest of the novels aren’t as interesting.
I’ve sort of read all of his The Third Heaven novels and they’re all the same - boring - except for the first few chapters and the few end chapters, which are fabulous. I believe he’s missed the boat along the way and don’t know how he got so many good reviews. Maybe from his students or friends who read his books. Who knows?

This was a great read. As we all know that Jesus is the hero, the imagary of Jesus in Hell and his victory is so good to read, (no spoilers, it's in the Bible) The book reads like the other two in the series, but I think Donavan added more breaks in the chapters which I really enjoyed. I'm a slow reader so I need some stopping points. The imagery in this book is very good and has a very high level fantasy feel. So good, I highly recommend it.

With the vivid imagination and master crafting of the human vocabulary like Neal welds the only explanation can be God the Almighty inspired his work. This book beautifully paints imagery of the power and wonderment of just an Nth of the best of creative authority and God welds in the void. Beautiful, simply beautiful.
