Book 2 in The Sea Captain's Daughter Trilogy*

There’s something very wrong in the Southern Lair. The blind dragon refuses to choose a new knight partner, but only he can save Gryphon Isle from the deadly pirate menace. His human friends accompany him to the home of the last wizard, fighting on shore as he swims beneath the pirate ships, rising to flame them into oblivion. Together, they save the day…or do they?

Livia, Seth and Gowan befriend the wizard and his people—flocks of gryphons and villages of near-immortal fair folk. Plots are uncovered, including the magical subversion of the Lair leadership and the theft of a rare book of ancient magic from the wizard that might just destroy the world as they know it.

Livia struggles with her love for both men while new friends find love everlasting in the most unlikely of places. Alliances are formed and strengthened, enemy plots are revealed and through it all, the blossoming relationship between Livia and her two men stands strong…though their future seems uncertain. Will it work out for them? Only the Mother of All knows for sure.

Will the blind dragon learn to trust again? And if so, can the others form a family around him? Or will his stubborn pride, and evil outside forces, keep them apart forever?

* The Sea Captain's Daughter Trilogy consists of three novels all revolving around five main characters. Book 1 is called Sea Dragon and is available now in ebook and print.

This was better than the first in regards to the ending. It wasn't an abrupt stop in the middle of a scene. I did enjoy the story but there's a lot of the same/same. Same thoughts by the dragons, same sex by the triad, etc.. I'm cringing a bit thinking the first part of book #3 is going to be the same until things work out as you know they should have in this book or book #1.

I enjoyed reading the continuation of Seth, Gowan, Lara and the dragons story. Now just to wait patiently for the last book in the triology

A pretty good book. Left a few questions to be answered in book 3. Nice to see more of the wizard's island and cool how sea dragons were introduced. Can't wait to see how the trilogy concludes.

Ugh

I have enjoyed this series but, this book was frustrating. 1. I hate total cliff hangers. Nothing from the first book was resolved. 2. Overall story has possibilities but lost me by introducing so much yet making no real progress with the couple the story is centered around. 3. I read a book a night, this one took me five nights. It was very hard to get into. And as invested as I am at this point, I doubt I will read the next installment .
I did enjoy the firecrackers and the others being reintroduced. It just sadly was like a large whirlpool tub. You are excited by the idea. You hurry to run water and add bath salts. You are unhappy to discover a long wait to fill the tub but you hang in there because the good part is coming. Then it comes but the hot water ran out and left you a very full tub of cold water. To be continued....sigh.

While I enjoyed the storyline, this book was annoyingly repetitive. I skimmed parts because how many times and ways can you say the same thing before it becomes annoyingly repetitive. It's annoying when a story is repetitive, for no reason. Just saying

There were several surprises in this read that moves the storyline closer to the inevitable war to defend against those wanting to release the evil wizards from their Citadel prison. I do feel as though the prolonged wait for Livia and her guys...spread over 3 books...was unnecessary.

Not a bad read if you can get through all the repetitive fluff. Not a huge fan of the adult scenes, kinda repetitive too, but I am curious about the overall story and how it all ends for Draconia.

The scene of the battle in the Isle was great. But it was not well defined when they won and what happened, not as in the previous book. The sea dragons and Livia's father's fleet was a nice surprise, too.

But the rest of the book did not appeal to me. The main problem touched in the plot was Hrardorr's refusal of making Seth his knight and their inability of completing the threesome. I frankly felt the rest of the book after the battle was an uncalled extra.

The second part is often no my favorite in a trilogy. This case applies the rule.

Middle book of a trilogy. First book annoyed me because everything ended up in the air. This one wasn't so bad - some resolutions, but I already had the next one, so the remaining story breaks didn't bother me. The romance plays second fiddle to the paranormal issues in this book, but I didn't mind - there were enough teases and sexy scenes to keep the romance in mind while I chased the story. These books are not for everyone, but the dragon society is interesting, and the complicated relationship between humans and dragons is satisfying.

Wonderful 2nd book in the Sea Captain's Daughter trilogy

Second books in trilogies are known to be difficult reads, but Bianca D'Arc's second book in this trilogy doesn't have those issues.

Great to see Livia, Gowan, and Seth along with Hrardorr and Genlitha!! This book we get a peek of Drake of the Five Lands and his family. Plus we see Prince of Spies and Riki.

Wonderful story!! Can't wait for Book 3!!

Another excellent book.

Dragon Fire, the second book in The Sea Captain’s Daughter trilogy.
The pirates who attacked Dragoncove in the previous book made their way to Griffin Island. Launching an attack on the island as a cover for getting in to steal one of Griffod’s spell books.
Gowin, Genlitha, Seth, Hrardorr and Livy along with another dragon & knight pair defied the leaders of the lair to fly to Griffin Island to help.

Waiting patiently!

A five star rating for this 2nd book in this series is well deserved. While the love scenes are nice the storyline is so good I find myself skimming through them to get to the ongoing g story. While I don't usually like Clift hangers I can't w AIT for this his final installment in the series.

Awesome storytelling and you don't want to miss it. This author has an amazing way of drawing you into her books, so that you can really see the characters and get to know and love them. If you haven't already read her first book in this series you don't know what you're missing!!!

Amazing Story

I really loved this book and all its ups and downs. However, it would be great to see what happened to the last set of twin princes in this series. I am anxiously awaiting additional books which I hope will come soon. I have read other books by this author and they never disappoint!!! Love this book and the rest of the series!!

Love this new series

You get two couples in this book. Plus gryphons, sea dragons and pirates!! Love where this story is going. I also love the continued growth of Livia, Seth , Gowan, Hradarr, and Gen. their story is quickly becoming my favorite. Plus I like how past characters are making reappearances, even if they are little cameos.

Great continuation

There is a lot of adventure, pirates, betrayal, and suspense in this story. Hope that the main characters finally get together once the wounded realize he is not handicapped.

Anticipation...

There is a thread of anticipation throughout the book. Between the hair raising events in the lair and island, the unknown relationship with the 3 main characters, you never know what will happen next.

The danger comes from the sea in the second of the Sea Captain's Daughter trilogy. Olivia, Gowan and Seth continue to grow closer, and magic comes into play as Gryphon Island comes under attack. There are surprises in unusual places, and brave action come from surprising places as well.
