To Wed A Cowboy has a decent plot w/ likable H&H Porter & Ava. Fairly standard boy meets girl..opposites attract deal. Low on suspense and conflict it's a fairly predictable sweet tale. A Second Chance is a bonus with an older couple both already established professionally. I thought it would be good but right off she gets drunk at the party and practically throws herself at the H. Then it's sex on the first date?😡 For really real?!? Uh...hell no. I stopped at the raunchy sex and didn't even try to read the 2nd bonus. This author usually misses the mark for me and I will be very careful in the future buying her books.
Enjoyed reading Porter & Ava's story. Porter is at first bitter toward the new owner of his grandparents ranch house but after spending a little time with Ava, he has a change of heart & doesn't waste any time pursuing her. This is very fast-paced. I may have missed it somehow but I still have a couple things I'm pondering...like what was up with Porter's sister & how did her sleaze-bag husband get Porter to work for him? Regardless of my wondering mind, I read a lot, I still really like this couple and enjoyed reading their relationship build.
I did not really like this story. It was short and lacked substance in my opinion. I don't typically read the cowboy genre, but I thought that I would give this one a try. I was disappointed with the characters and plot development. If you are looking for steamy romance this book is definitely not it. The first bonus book Second Chance was OK. I actually forgot how old the characters were. I didn't read the second one because I had read it on its own previously.
Good Read along with the two bonus stories made this a good buy. Loved Porter and Ava. Love stories about hard working sexy cowboys. Ava left NYC in the dust and brought her a little cabin on Porter's land. Porter's sister and brother- in- law are a piece of work .
I didn't realize the story would be so short. I hate short stories because they always feel rushed and incomplete. That's how I felt about this story. It was only 27% of the book. I did like Ava and Porter, would have a great full length story.
This is a good love story. I loved the references to his grandparents. They fell for each other pretty quickly. She was willing to give up her dream for him and he was willing to give up everything for her.
