SPARX Incarnation #2

SPARX Incarnation: Order of the Undying

Rate this book
Ancient, decrepit and undying, the former king lingers in his underground chamber beneath the Iron Tower of Harrow. Having once rolled dice for all humankind, and won, his unyielding power is still felt within the realm and beyond. What Harrow wants, Harrow takes. Trapped in a cave system with only the light of a mysterious bog stone to guide him, Nud Leatherleaf struggles to find his way back home. But the catacombs play host to an underground world that he never knew existed – an echo of the forgotten past and a road to discovery. The fate of his friends, the disturbing truth about the disappearance of his parents, and the growing force that threatens his homeland all lead Nud in the same direction …to the City of Harrow and the ruling madman that sits at the helm. With his own life and those of his friends at stake, Nud must tap into an inner strength and learn to harness the power of the SPARX stone before it is too late. Order of the Undying marks the riveting conclusion of the two-part epic fantasy SPARX Incarnation.

Part II takes on a somewhat darker and deeper path than Part I with some pretty freaky encounters that were really well done. I found myself connecting with Nud more as the psychological impact of his parent’s disappearance became more evident and he started to uncover what’s really been going on in and around his community. The author infused a lot of interesting and unusual concepts into the plot that kept me intrigued. I have to say that the concluding chapters left me awestruck as I found myself reflecting on things in a way I didn’t expect.
