He never called the helplines. The one time he did, it was to say goodbye ... to anybody, before leaving the world. Rosie … that was her name. She’d given it when she wasn’t supposed to. She said things that made him burn to live. And he would. He’d find a way to hide his darkness so that he could dance with her, just a single dance, in the liquid sunshine of her laugh. And maybe … maybe he’d taste her. But only once.

My name is Mason Sabre. I have been writing since I was a small child and discovered I could have a million adventures at the stroke of my pencil (I wasn't allowed to use pen back then). I have written more stories than I could even publish, some of them I wouldn't ever put out, but I have had a blast writing them. I love writing, I love reading. I love to have a fictional adventure. When I am not doing that I am with my children or studying. I have a lifelong love of learning too.

I live in the North of England. It's a little chilly here and a little wet, but it is what I call home and where pretty much all of my stories are based.

PSYCHOLOGICALLY AND MINDBLOWINGLY BRILLIANT

Mason Sabre and Lucian Bane have joined forces to write a beautiful and heartfelt story. One that will remain on my most Loved list for many years to come. Make sure that you have a box of tissues beside you as you read this book. Not only will you be shedding tears because your heart is being torn asunder, but you will also be crying from laughter, due to some of the banter that is found within the book.

This is a purely magical story that will draw you in from the moment that you pick it up. It is so stirring and addictive that you will not want to put it down. Mr Sabre and Mr Bane's writing totally compliments each other's, yes there are minor differences in the use of the English language, however this is never a distraction. Not once did I struggle with the differing styles, in fact they only made the book more enjoyable.

The characters in the book are written beautifully and with such power and emotion that you feel every emotion that they are experiencing along with them. Rosie, a young American woman, resides in England and volunteers for the local Mental Helpline takes a call that will change her life. William and Josh are the "two" men, torn by their past and in a battle for Rosie's love. All three are broken people, trying to live and love in the only way they know how - through each other and by defeating their own pasts.

The antagonist of the book, Maria, was one woman I would love to kill. She was evil incarnate. Both William and Josh struggled with her in their lives and the desire to have her gone was so strong in both of them. Again, the anger I felt towards this woman, showed me how well the two authors can get into a reader's mind and and make them experience what the characters are feeling.

There is a twist to this story, one that will have your heart bleeding. The writing of it was a work of genius. It constantly had me on edge wondering whether or not the truth will emerge. The final two chapters were so engrossing that I couldn't put the damn book down - I needed to know what happened.

I cannot wait for more of Rosie and William's story.

I look forward to reading more collaborations from these two superb writers.

Definitely the BEST book I have read this year.

THIS WAS FREAKING AMAZING! 5 STARS AND MORE!

Lucian Bane and Mason Sabre hit Cuts Like An Angel out of the park! I loved the story with Rosie and William, the charm between the two of them, trying so hard for one another. It was fate that found them together at the same place and I can’t wait to find out what is next for them. This is truly a book that pulls on the emotions and keeps you hanging on. Putting the book down once I started was impossible. I kept telling myself “just one more page” until I had totally finished the book. I was amazed at what I just read. What did I do? I sat down and read it again. It was just as wonderful as the first time.

I am anxious to see what else these two brilliant writers have in store for Rosie and William. To put these two different writers together and create a piece of art was spectacular. I can’t wait for more!

I truly believe this is one of the best books I have ever read. The writing between Mason and Lucian is phenomenal. The love story that evolves from Rosie/William and Josh is breath taking. Rosie fighting her own demons which you really don't see outright and the struggle between William and Josh as to who can love Rosie. Rosie has the demons of needing to be loved and insecurities of herself. She doesn't want to push anyone away, she needs everyone and doesn't want to hurt anyone. She learns that her family is not there for her-- they should be first in line for her but they're all stuck up with their own issues. Josh and William fight constantly and battle which is never ending as to who should take the lead, Josh being the stronger up front one but William always makes himself heard. Both always seeking love and approval in their lives. Both always afraid that special someone in this case Rosie will leave them once she finds out that they are powerfully connected and are whole. Josh and William need each other even though Josh keeps pushing William into hiding and trying to get rid of him. Rosie is the salvation for them as they are for her--their Angel who could do no wrong. They are all ready to drop everything and help each other battle their demons. But the most import thing they must do is get rid of Maria because she will destroy any ground that they have made to become stable. Will Rosie be strong enough to help Josh and William? I truly believe so and William and Josh with the right treatment will be the strength that Rosie needs to win her own battles. The mixture of Mason's English and Lucian's American English is so good with Rosie being American and the men Brits. Rosie learns the British slang and the men the American. Well done guys and can't wait for the next one!

Wow This book took my breath away and is quite frankly one of the most incredible books I've ever read. My heart broke for William/Josh and i honestly cried a river or two throughout this book however that being said i also nearly cracked a rib laughing in other parts. This book ticks all boxes for me and Mason Sabre and Lucian Bane really have done a Phenomenal job in writing this collaboration. Truly Brilliant and an absolute must read.

OMG!!! This story completely blew me away! I finished it a few days ago and I continue to catch myself thinking about the story. Rosie, William AND Josh...haha you will need to read for yourself about this threesome ;) Kidding, it's not what you might think. I'm not going to ruin it for anyone. This is a story that had so much emotion. Yes there were times that I cried sad tears, but then I also cried because I was laughing so hard.

I think each of us can identify with these characters in some way. We get to see their vulnerability, but then we also get to see their strength. I'm absolutely captivated by this story! I recommend it to all who love a well written story that speaks to you! OH!! How could I forget...yep there definitely were some steamy scenes!! Totally sigh worthy!! ;)

*****FIVE FULL STARS OF FABULOUSNESS!!!!*****

Oh, where to begin? With the title I think. As soon as I saw that title, which is amazing, I knew I had to prepare for a full range of emotions, and I also knew that both Lucian and Mason are highly qualified to deliver a story with that range. And they so do!

This book is a unique collaboration. These two authors (from different countries) make no attempt to camouflage their individual writing styles or their dialects, and that works perfectly for the characters' voices they are expressing. Even with the differences, the story flows and blends flawlessly.

The characters, Rosie, William, and Josh, feel real, touchable, and I love how they grow and change as the events in the story require them to do. Their strengths and weaknesses quickly draw them into your heart.

What I love most about the story is that I I felt like I was walking the path of discovery along with the characters. That sense of peeking around the corner to see what's ahead is a constant presence. It is definitely not predictable, and these authors made sure to leave us wondering at the end of this book, raising our curiosity for what will come in book two.

Congratulations Mason and Lucian! You delivered a powerhouse of a story that is brilliantly written! It will play in my mind as I wait for the continuation.

This book was something I have never read before...It gave me the feels...like crazzzy feels!!!
And Yesss!!! I loved it!!

I mean really, read this blurb about the book.

"He never called the helplines.

But only once."

I don't want to say too much about the book because I don't want to give anything away. It was just a crazy, twisted, omg do I really know what I am reading kind of ride. I kept thinking to myself I do know what is going on?? Right??

I am a huge fan of Lucian Bane and am a new fan of Mason Sabre. This book was written very well with both of these guys co-writing!! I just loved everything about it!!

I gave this book 5 Cuts Like An Angel Stars..It deserves sooo much more!! It will melt your Heart!!!

I am at a bit of a loss of words after reading this book. In a good way there is just so much to process and think about.
Mason Sabre and Lucian Bane are brilliant on their own, but hmmmmmm together they have woven a tale with such twisted finesse it leaves you gasping. There is so much depth and to the these characters Rosie, William and Josh that as I think back on it it astounds me. But at the same time you are left with so many questions and WTF moments. These is so much knowledge and forethought put into these characters they become living, breathing, tortured souls that you want to wrap your arms around and make it better for them. You know it is great writing when you physically ache for them, worrying like they are family.
Warning you will need tissues for this book!!!
This is a love story with so many twists and turns that you get happily lost in their story. I eagerly await more from two of my favorite authors.......

Wow! This book is totally AMAZING! I knew it would be good, I mean two of my favorite authors writing a book together. They didn't disappoint me either. Rosie and William have found each other in a time they need someone the most. The way they found each other and wanted to be everything for the other was so heartwarming. What happens when a bump in the road that can make things difficult for them pops up? Well this I need to know! Make sure to have the Kleenex ready, this story will have you crying but it will also have you laughing. I can't wait for more! Mr. Sabre and Mr. Bane well done! I'm having such a #bookhangover now! Totally worth it! My favorite book this year! #MustRead #FiveStars deserves ten stars if it were possible!

This was a pretty good read. Rosie an American living in the U.K. she volunteers at the hospital's Mental Health Crisis Center when she answers the phone its a call that will forever change her life. William is a good looking young man whose dark demons hover on the brink of his soul he sees himself only as a monster a lost soul until he meets Rosie. This was a good book I have read Lucian Bane's work before but this was my first time reading Mason Sabre but not my last. Both Rosie and William are carrying emotional baggage and both have dark pasts. This book is told partly in flashbacks and I hated Williams mother. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. This book left off on a cliffhanger and I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

The reviews for this book are all really good, so I was eager to dive into the book.

Rosie is an American who lives in Great Britain and volunteers for a suicide help line. One night, a man named William calls in, about to end his life, and something about him makes William more than just another caller to Rosie. He hangs up, and Rosie doesn't know what happens to him - until he starts calling into the help center again, weeks later. Rosie breeches all protocol and not only tells William her name, but also gives him her personal cell phone number and starts sharing details of her personal life with him. Also around this time, Rosie meets a man named Josh. She develops feelings for both men, even though she's never met William face-to-face.

Yeah, so this book is all sorts of messed up, and I really enjoyed it.

Also, WTF, this book ends on a pretty bad cliffhanger. I had no idea when I picked up this book that it was going to end with virtually no resolution, especially since the sequel (which I presume is being written) isn't available yet. I would have definitely put off reading this book until the sequel is available had I know that, which made me a little pissed. Well, more than a little pissed, because I got so sucked into the story that I stayed up until 1am on a work night to finish the book. :\

Still recommended, especially once the sequel is available.

The first thing I need to say is, Mason Sabre and Lucian Bane, you must continue for the rest of your lives to write books together lol. What these two authors came up with together, blew me away. Hit it right out of the park. I was very interested to see how Mason and Lucian worked together on a book since their writing is so different from each other. Plus the fact, one is from America and the other from England. To me, these 2 authors worked so amazingly well together, that the story just flowed so nicely. It's like their mind was one. Now that right their folks, is genius if
You ask me. The story was just beautifully written. I cried, laughed so hard that I cried haha. Ohhhhh and let me tell you, it was fantastically HOT too. I was angry. So so angry at what happened to William, Josh and even Rosie. I was also heartbroken towards the end. I wanted to reach in and hug them all. This is one of those books that stick with you forever. Please, oh please read this love story. You will not regret it, I promise. Take a bow gentlemen. You guys created a beautiful baby together☺ and I can not wait to see how she grows in the next book!! Be proud, be very proud!!

I literally just finished the last words of this book, no the word book doesn't explain what this is well enough. I sit here having just experienced the minds of two brilliant author's and I am at a loss for words. This is a collaboration that I had joked around saying would be amazing, well it happened and what happened was beyond amazing, it was EPIC. I was transfixed with the seamless flow and a storyline that was unlike any I have experienced before. Light and fun in places that will make you smile but weaved into a deeper heart stopping tale. These are characters that are developed in such masterful finesse you can't help but feel for each event that they meet along the way.

I have been waiting since the day I knew this was happening, holding my breath in anticipation of what I would read. The days seemed to tick so slowly but having just finished I can say it was worth every hour, every minute and every second for what resulted, a one of a kind unforgettable experience.

I loved this book. It was well written and the characters came to life for me. This is a story of two lost, lonely, troubled souls, and two very tortured souls, trying to make a break from their past and start new lives. Wanting to be someone else, angry over a sometimes ugly and difficult past. Thinking they could never be loved or accepted for who they really are.
Be prepared to feel their pain, anguish and uncertainty.
I laughed out loud with Rosie, cried for William, hated Maria and worried over Josh. Do they find love and acceptance? Learn to trust and be loved? You'll have to read the book to find out. I can't wait for more, I really want to know what happens to these characters.

Mindblowingly original! How do I start?

Rosie works at the mental health help line and one phone call changes the course of her life like she's never known. When the man she believes killed himself calls her back after weeks of quiet, she's relieved and pissed. Just when she starts forming a bind with him though, she meets another gorgeous man that sweet and gorgeous and seems to get her. Now having her heart split, she has to decide who to choose.
Josh has a big secret he's keeping from Rosie. It could ruin everything with her. As his past slowly creeps in trying to take over, his relationship is on the line.
William believes Rosie is the light of his life. She's the only reason worth living. But he's holding her back from having a relationship with someone real. He's afraid he'll ruin her if he takes it farther. But he can't help the obsessive nature he has over her and doesn't want to let go of the little bit of light that keeps the darkness at bay.

This was a story of psychological issues, struggles that most can't even comprehend and dark romance that is wrong yet perfectly right. William and Josh's struggle with each other and Rosie's relationship is up and down and constantly has you wondering what will happen next. The issues are cringe worthy and breathtakingly haunting. It's like you can feel the pain and struggle of the characters. I swear I tensed the entire book it was that emotional. The authors keep you gripped from page one and don't let you go until the end. I can't wait to see what is in store for the next book.

I couldn’t wait to dive into this book once it finally came out. Nothing like having two of your favorite authors work together and share their talents with the world. (And I am ever so pleased that they did)

I knew going into this book it was going to be a story that would grab my attention. I did not expect it to be the emotional masterpiece it is. Both writers have their unique ways on telling a story. I was eager to see how their brand of storytelling would play out in one book. Their writing styles truly complement one another and make the story flow effortlessly. These two authors work exceptionally well together. I am still in awe and an emotional wreck an hour after reading the ending. I have all these questions spinning around in my head wishing I could speak to Rosie and William. The last two chapters alone had me in such turmoil. It was as if I could feel what William was doing to himself and the anguish of Rosie. I wanted to scream at the both of them. I was having one of those moments where I thought the characters of a book could actually hear what you are saying to them. Crazy I know, but that is how real this book will make you feel. It is almost as if you are there experiencing every moment with these characters. My tissue supply has dwindled down quite considerably thanks to these two brilliant authors. Cuts Like An Angel is a powerhouse of a read that will stay with me for a long time.

Such a beautiful and heartbreaking story with so much pain and love. I Iaughed, cried, and held my breath. The love and connection between the hero/heroine is so real and believable, right from the start.

I enjoyed this book so much. It shows you a side of pain, darkness, and agony, that so many people struggle with, and shows you that if you have the right person, that one person that makes you see through the darkness to the light, you CAN get through anything. The bond that William and Rosie create, right from the start, is heart warming.

I was very disappointed when I finished reading this. Dissapointed that it was done! So glad to see that William and Rosie's story will be continued. I am rooting for them in every way. I don't often get this emotionally invested in a book, however with this book, I have found myself thinking about it even after I have finished.

Thank you Lucian and Mason for this wonderful story! I look forward to part 2.

Even better than I had imagined...

Warning- spoilers! Omg, what a range of emotions! What an amazing book! So many ups & downs, there was even a spot where I wasn't sure I could go on, as my heart was breaking for William and Josh. I'm so glad I did! I kept wondering how are these two going to make peace without hurting each other or Sophie. Because she wanted them both, wanted it all. And I knew she could have it all if the two of them could just stop fighting with one another and let her love him(them). Every chapter flowed so well despite having two authors with their own creative expression. Thank you both for knocking it out of the park! This story is absolutely brilliant!!!

This book was FANTASTIC!!!! This story had everything I love: twisted characters, crazy out there scenarios, dark themes, hot sexy scenes and great writing. This wasn't a super dark read but there are some situations in this story that some people may find difficult to read. I absolutely loved William/Josh and Rosie's personalities and embraced the crazy in both of them! OMG the condom "fiasco" was THE BEST! I haven't laughed that hard while reading a book in a long time and I was so immersed in this story it was almost like I was right there watching the entire situation unfold - IT WAS CLASSIC! Great great great story! It does end in a cliffy which surprised me and I will be impatiently waiting for the next book.

What happens when a stranger calls a helpline that you work at and you know you shouldn't get close but hearing the guy on the other line makes you feel something you never felt before and neither has he. It was like fate had brought them together and now they have to fight to be together and fight the darkness inside especially William, but is the darkness to much or can Rosie show him the light?

Once I started reading I couldn't stop. I needed answers and you can sorta figure some of it out. What William has gone through was heartbreaking to read and no one should have gone through what he has and still struggles with everyday. I can't wait to see what happens next with William & Rosie

A story of desperation, hope and love. A soul that is fighting within will tear at your heart. An Angel that has brightness and love to give but who also struggles with her own spiritless life. This is truly a compelling story that is written with pure irresistible magic. I am in AWE! The depth of emotion you feel, to the attention to detail, to the storyline itself, leaves you mesmerized. This is one breathtaking treasure. Heartfelt. Romantic. Beautiful. Can't wait for book two of this incredibly amazing journey.

I can't really put anything specific in my review, because I feel like anything I say has the potential to spoil the story, and it's really something you should experience for yourself. It's very intriguing, and while I didn't exactly LIKE it - it was a tough read for me, some of the things the characters are going through/struggling with hit me oddly - I do admire the story that is being told. It's a GOOD story and told very well. : )

Ho...Ly Jeeeeeeze!!!!

This book was fanfreakingtastic!!!! I couldn't put it down, not even for a second! Never have I ever read a book that touched me in so many ways. The mental health aspect was so riveting and honest. The love you have for everyone is so gut wrenching and painful. But so true! A wonderful perspective into the minds of people with mental disabilities. The fact they touched on it so heavily is to be applauded in itself. I am absolutely grateful and can't wait for book 2!

Right, I'm not going to beat about the bush with this review..... I loved this book! It was raw, powerful and tugged on my heart strings. I felt a deep connection with the characters from very early on in the story; I laughed with them and I shared tears with them. The story itself was fresh, none like I had ever read previously and one that will be embedded in my brain for eternity.
