Moses and Trevor have always been one of my favorite couples of this series. They have been together, and solid, since book one. Always in the background being supportive and smokin hot together.

If you have read the previous books you know Trevor was a victim of a hate crime in one of the earlier books. This is their struggle to come to terms and heal in the aftermath of that incident.

description
"Tell me how to fix this for you, love. I can’t stand this distance between us. Come back to me, precious. Please. Daddy needs you,” Drake whispered, allowing several tears to leak from his eyes."
description

This book hit me right in the feels. I think I spent most of it dabbing my eyes and sniffling. SO many emotions. My heart ached for Trevor and all he had to overcome. It cracked open for Moses, a strong "Daddy Dom" reduced to tears and uncertainty. Yet even in that uncertainty these two clung to each other and refused to walk away. The love these two have for each other is limitless.

description

So why not 5 stars? WELL...I didn't like the whole

Other then that issue, this was a solid, well written, 4 star read for your truly.

This is a very different entry into the Doms of Genesis series, and not just because it's focused on two characters we've met before. Trevor Hammond, a young, gay, submissive man, and his Dom Drake (aka Moses Abraham) have been strong supporting characters since the series began. In the previous full-length book, Seduced by My Doms, Trevor is brought into the ER after being the victim of a terrible hate crime. Bound to Surrender is the story of his recovery. It's long, painful, and sometimes difficult to watch. Trevor struggles, unable to find a way to let his friends and family help him. However, eventually he starts to feel better, and is able to open up and live his life again. This is a psychologically riveting story of pain, loss, and recovery.

Bound to Surrender was a quick yet fulfilling glimpse into the lives of Trevor and Drake. Trevor has been one of my favorite characters since meeting him in the very first book in this series. He was always brought levity to each story, with his joyful, funny and lighthearted presence.

But within Liz, Ian and James's story in Seduced by My Doms, Trevor's appearance wasn't what I expected and I worried for him. Now months after being on the receiving end of a hate-crime attack, everyone sees that Trevor is not the person he used to be. Though healed physically, he's still battling the nightmares he's left with. Poor Drake is at a loss and along with the rest of the Genesis crew, they aren't sure how else to help him get back to who he once was.

This all takes a toll on both Trevor and Drake as they both deal with their own versions of guilt. Drake not having been there to prevent the attack and Trevor for having not been able to fully recover from it. It just broke my heart to see the once jovial character so moody and dark.

This was a great story for the couple. Though they've been a staple in the lives of their friends and characters we've met so far, this story gave them the chance to reconnect and renew what they had. Rediscovering their connection, helped them both heal and leave all that horrible-ness behind.

FAVORITE QUOTES:

Drake was the sunshine and rain that restored the fragile petals of Trevor’s soul. Pleasing his Master was a euphoria all its own.

“You are worthy, Trev. You’ve always been worthy of happiness and love. There have been fuckers who’ve tried to steal that from you, but every one of them failed. Your spirit is too bright.

Trevor and Moses captured my heart so long ago, but reading BOUND TO SURRENDER, made me fall in love with them ALL. OVER. AGAIN.

This series won me over from the very beginning, with its sensual prose and unique and beautiful characters. But there was always something about Trevor and Moses' love that drew my heart up tight. They were always there in the background making us smile, laugh, and swoon. This time, in BOUND TO SURRENDER, they have center stage, and this story is a deep emotional one for sure.

"I'm not giving up on you. And you're not allowed to give up yourself, either. Is that clear?"

"Yes, Master."

Something tragic happened to Trevor, and it made him escape inside himself. Sure, on the outside he is all smile and humor, but on the inside, he is fighting a war that he is most definitely losing. Moses, aka Daddy Drake, feels helpless. He is the strong one. He is the Master for God's sakes, and he doesn't know how to pull Trevor out of his head. What used to be the means to have Trevor surrender, now is tainted with horror and guilt. Trevor is fragile, vulnerable, and stuck. But the only way to bring him back is for Moses to claim him once again. In order for Trevor to heal, he needs to break at the hands of his Daddy Drake, his Master in all things, his one true love.

Oh man! Such emotion...such passion pours out of every single page. My heart broke for Trevor and what he went through. My heart broke for Moses and the stress and turmoil he was under. I had no doubt in my mind, that Moses would never give up. They have an uphill battle ahead of them, but what a beautiful and tragic journey it will be. To experience the kind of love that these two share, is just a magical thing, and one I hope to have one day.

"As long as you're by my side, I'm home."

BOUND TO SURRENDER is a BDSM romance that is not for the faint of heart. Your emotions will go through the ringer and your heart...the shredder! But it will all be worth it in the end.

While Bound to Surrender is part of The Doms of Genesis series, it can easily be read as a standalone. When the story first starts, it does feel like you've walked in to the middle of a story-and you actually have-but the background comes soon enough and gives the reader plenty of history to understand what has happened and what the characters are going through.

I'll say this for the author--she had my heart breaking for Trevor from the very first page. To have gone through what he has is unthinkable, particularly when you see how sweet a young man he is. Drake, his Dom, has seen him through something similar before...but this time is different, and trying to help Trevor has been an exercise in frustration which is tearing Drake apart.

This is a story of healing-if done in what most people might believe is an unconventional way. But when you get right down to it, it really isn't unconventional when seen through the lens of the BDSM lifestyle-and Trevor's own personal wants and dreams. With the heightened emotions given the horrible brutality Trevor went through, the resulting scenes are intense and the sensuality heightened.

Bound to Surrender is an emotional ride, and it was a 4-star read for me. I'd recommend this story to M/M BDSM romance fans, but also those who haven't read M/M before-the message is universally applicable. This story is meant strictly for those readers 18+ due to adult language, explicit M/M sexual content, and disturbing flashbacks to the attacks Trevor went through which may be a trigger for some readers sensitive to violent gay bashing.

A broken heart mends in the most deliciously perfect way!!

This book is everything!! It's Amazing! It's heartbreaking, it's sweet, sexy, sensual and EVERYTHING I ever hoped for when it came to Daddy Drake and Trevor. You took a m/m romance and turned it up a notch. You proved that no matter what happens, love wins every single time.

Loved it!!

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this book!! Wish it was longer, I didn’t want it to end. Drake and Trevor are just an amazing couple and you can feel the love oozing off the pages and they both want things back to normal so badly. The way these two guys are with each other, always have each other’s back and are willing to do anything and everything to have what they once had again was a joy to read. The group of friends they have surrounding them are amazing as well. I don’t want to say what happens but the ending is just perfect.
Characters: well written and easy to relate to

Bound To Surrender (The Doms of Genesis #6.5) by Jenna Jacob
4.5 stars
M/M BDSM Romance
Triggers: Hate crime, PTSD trauma, surrogacy
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

Trevor and Drake have had a hard road. They met under circumstances that nobody should ever have to endure and now, faced with the same trauma, they have to find their way back to each other again.

After Trevor is beaten, almost to death, he is having a difficult time coming to grips with what happened to him, why it happened and where he goes from here. Gone is the happy sub who can make a joke about anything. He is trapped in his own world of pain and trauma and no matter how much he wants to break free, there is a barrier he just can't cross.

Daddy Drake is floundering. He loves Trevor, but can't seem to help him past his trauma like he did last time. While Drake knows he has to give Trevor time, he also can tell they are both becoming frustrated.

These two are bound and determined to not let the trauma win - to not let the hate filled, tattoo faced dirtbags rule their happiness. Jacob's relay a story where love really does conquer all - there are ups and downs in this short book, but each one is carefully plotted and developed. This is a great ending to Tevor and Daddy Drake's story.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

To date, I have read this entire series, but when I found out Drake and Trevor were getting their own story, I was ecstatic!! I have loved them so hard since meeting them in book 1. The way this story picks up just after Trevor's attack but also gives the reader their back story was perfect! My heart broke for the couple as they struggled through dealing with the mental and physical ramifications following that horrific night in the alley when Trevor was approached by a group of frat boys and viciously attacked in a homophobic hate crime.

Jenna Jacob poured so much raw emotion into this erotic and loving tale, that there were moments where I seriously had to consider pulling out a tissue. Though a dominant, Drake makes sure to give Trevor the space he needs to heal, not wanting to trigger his PTSD. Likewise, the entire Club Genesis family rallies together to support them. That relationship alone pulled at my heart strings. Knowing a person who has endured near death has an entire family coming through to do whatever it takes to bring back that shine to his eyes is enough to make your heart burst.

Drake's and Trevor's is a story of triumph, crawling out of the dark recesses of anguish to rise above and restore their souls with all the love in their hearts...

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is a very special book and anyone following the series would be delighted with what Ms Jacob has created here. You do need to have read the previous books to appreciate this story. I am assuming you have in my review.

This is a heart-wrenching, but ultimately heart-warming story, which follows on from Trevor's terrible attack. He and Drake were so clearly perfect together that it is horrible to see how far from each other this has left them. As we hear each of their points of view, it is difficult to understand how they keep missing each other emotionally, as they are so close, yet so far. It is an interesting way of reminding us all about the value of honest communication -and when not to assume blame. My favourite line in the book - which will stay with me for a long time as I laughed so much - related to talking about insurance ... read it and see!

Highly recommended for any fan of this series.

I am so, so happy to report that this series is right back on track!
It features two key characters that we met in book 1 and have been staples in this series. They both play a significant roll in Club Genesis, and I just love them.

This is a story of two men, who deeply love one another but lost their way due to both becoming victims (in different ways) of a horrific hate crime. Now I know that this series is mostly about super hot BDSM, and unlikely people finding love. Bound to Surrender is deeper than that.

This is the story of two men, whom need to find their way back to one another. This is the story of two men fighting for what they know they deserve, it's a journey of healing. It's really the beginning chapter to the rest of their lives.
It's a beautiful conclusion to the traumatic episode that neither of these guys deserved!

My only complaint? I really wish it was longer!

This book should be read between Lured by my Master and Resisting my Submission. This book tore at my heart. Pour Trevor though he been beat up before for being gay he isn’t bouncing back like he did last time. This time the beating was worse but he is closing himself in. He is crying in the shower one minute and snapping at Daddy Drake the next. He is plagued with nightmares as well. Master Tony has been having session with Trevor but everything is moving at a snail’s pace. Maybe what Trevor needs isn’t to be handled like glass but for something to go back to normal. Trevor and Drake’s relationship hasn’t been like normal. Drake has been making Trevor submit to his dominance since the incident. At first Trevor needed to heal physically but now maybe forcing him submit will help him heal mentally. Drake is about to take Trevor on an unconventional path. But, it may be just the thing to bring Trevor back. I can’t say enough about this series. Trevor and Drake both go through so much because of Trevor’s attack. This book shows how many people are truly affected by an attack like the one Trevor suffered. Everyone who loves him was affected. It was so great reading about how Trevor came back to normal and that there isn’t just one way to heal. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

I've read this entire series and while I have loved all the installments I can say this book will hold a special place in my heart. Maybe it's because I've watched the relationship with Trevor and Daddy Drake from book one. Either way this book touched me on a spiritual level. Watching the pain filled journey these two men had to walk was heartbreaking. After Trevor's attack he is just not the same. Haunted by the events of that night he find himself sinking into a dark abyss. His lover and Master; Daddy Drake, is at a loss about how to pull his sweet sub back from the brink before they both tumble over. With the help of some amazing friends and a love that defies all, they soon learn that nothing can come between their bond. There were several times that I simply cried at the turmoil these two endured. This book simply pulled on my heartstrings. I give it an absolute 5 stars . I loved every moment of it.

Would reread: maybe

This was a very sad read. While I didn't read the previous installments of Club Genesis so I don't know when the events mentioned in this book happened, it was still emotionally devastating.

While the book was very nice, I definitely couldn't quite enjoy it as much as I would've wished to. I just kept thinking how this is a very sad setting whilst also being a very realistic one. I didn't even know who I was more sorry for, Trevor who suffered such a crime and couldn't move on, or Drake who just didn't know how to help him. I was expecting to cry for Trevor, but the way Drake felt so out of control and helpless was just devastating.

While the whole combination of genres is definitely not my usual read, this was a great book. Through this read, you could really take a peek at the hardships of some couples and the ugliness of the world.

A much anticipated novella from The Doms of Genesis series, this book focuses on Trevor and Drake, two of my favorite characters in the series. We get to see the aftermath of the violence that Trevor had to deal with from the last couple books from Trevor and Drake’s point of view. My heart broke when Trevor went through this so it is good to see his healing process and have him return to his loving self. A shorter and quicker read than some of the other books in the series but the story didn’t feel rushed at all and still gave us some unexpected and surprising events. I don’t think Jenna is capable of writing a bad book. Loved, loved, loved it!

This story follows up after Trevor has been viciously attacked. The aftermath of that attack leaves scars that don’t heal and the relationship between trevor and Moses is strained. The Dom doesn’t know how he can help his beloved to come back to him.

It is a very emotional read, but there are also very heartwarming moments and that ending made me go all mushy.

A story about a man trying to conquer what ugly this world has. Trevor was attacked by five frat boys because of his lifestyle. Moses "Drake" Abrams stood by his love and was patient and supportive. Drake and Trevor had a lot to overcome from the attack. Trevor had nightmares and panic attacks. Drake tend to have kid glove with Trevor but that is not what Trevor wanted. Their friends including Mika and Julianna with their Tristan helped the couple.

Jenna Jacobs wrote an excellent story. Some of the descriptions of the male counterparts were a little unappealing but the beauty of the story surpass. I am not a M/M reader but this is a worthwhile read. I can appreciate the love and the friendship within the story.

A quick read. Trevor was badly beaten and has lost his way with his own life and with his Dom. Drake feels guilt for not protecting Trevor and not knowing how to help him heal. A trial looms causing untold worry for Trevor. A poignant look at their struggles but a HEA.

Review of: Bound to Surrender, A Doms of Genesis Novella by Jenna Jacob
5/5 for story
5/5 for heat
Genre: BDSM, M/M
When you wait for over a year for a book, you almost get to the point where you know for sure you’re going to be disappointed when it finally comes out. So it was with trepidation that I opened my kindle and started reading, Bound to Surrender, A Doms of Genesis Novella by the wonderful Jenna Jacob. After all, Trevor and Daddy, also known as Moses, were by far my most favorite characters in any of Miss Jacobs books, and I just knew anything I read wouldn’t be good enough for them.
Well, I was so wrong! This book is so good that it’s almost hard to put into words all the emotions I felt when I was reading it. I laughed, I cried so hard, and when I finished, all I wanted was more of the story!!! I wanted more, I admit I am greedy when it comes to Miss Jacob and her writing. I have been a fan from day one, and with every book she writes I am drawn into their world. There are not a lot of authors I feel that way about, nor almost any that I look to with such anticipation when I hear she’s back in her writing cave.
Miss Jacobs has a way of pulling on your emotions without going overboard, and never is this truer than with this story. Trevor Hammond is a sub and lover to Moses, a.k.a. Daddy Drake. Their love story started 16 years earlier when Daddy saved Trevor from being assaulted by a group of gay hating bigots. He nursed the younger man back to health and they have been together ever since.
All is wonderful in their world until Trevor is beaten within an inch of his life again, again for nothing more than walking down the street. Daddy Drake nurses him once again, yet this time, severe P.T.S.D. has set in, and for once the Giant Dom doesn’t know how to help his boy. The journey towards healing is slow, and sometimes so painful to read that I had to stop and wipe the tears away. I don’t really believe in spoilers so this is all I will say, the entire book, from start to finish is so full of love, grit and determination that when Trevor and Drake get when they both so desire in the end, it just works.
Along the way in their journey to healing, we are again seeing some old favorite characters, Mika, Julianna, and others, who help the two struggling men, but in the end it really is all about Trevor and Drake. My only complaint is that I wish the story was longer, but then as I have said, I am very greedy when it comes to Miss Jacobs writing.
If Heaven help us, she never writes another Doms of Genesis book, then this one is a great way to end the series, although I hope she continues to write these wonderful stories.

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.

In this book we find out how Trevor is really doing since his attack. Moses (Daddy Drake) is at his wits end trying to not only fix his boy but to find a way to elevate his own guilt. Trevor knows he isn't himself and though he is trying things to come back he can't seem to find the way. He also knows that he is hurting the man that holds his heart. Trevor is constantly fighting the demons that are coming for him in his head. He is afraid that one day the demons will win and he will hurt someone he loves. His first thought is to run as fast and as far as he can but those who love him aren't ready to let him go yet. Will Trevor come back from this or will the sub they all know and love be lost to them forever?

Daddy isn't ready to give up on his boy yet. He is willing to do whatever it takes to bring him back from the hell his mind has taken him to. Sleepless nights not withstanding he is willing to do anything and he means anything to get Trevor back in his arms with love not just to chase away the nightmares. Daddy watches the things that first attracted him to Trevor slowly slipping away as Trevor tries to better himself so that what happened to him in the past will never happen again. Moses knows that he will never allow his boy to be put in that position again and the guilt that eats at him is slowly hurting his relationship as much as Trevor's need to protect himself. Can daddy find a way to not only heal his boy but heal himself as well from what happened that night?

This is a very poignant story about what happens when someone goes through something very traumatic and the things they have to do to bring themselves out of the darkness and back to the light. I also like how this author shows the amount of love that is around Trevor even though in his state he isn't seeing it. There are so many things that happen in this book that I want to tell you about but don't want to ruin it for anyone else. I would recommend reading Seduced by My Doms first to see what happened to Trevor and to the men who attacked him that night just so you totally understand what is happening in this book. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone though.
