Another solid entry of this Executioner spinoff series. This one is first in a 2 book story line. Though it still ends at a good stopping point while also setting up the next book. Lots of action and destruction, what else you expect from this series?
Recommend for fans of the Men's Adventures genre. The author GH Frost is one of the better contributors in this series.
It's all out war when The Team capture of high level drug cartel member. The gang member is on the run after his crime family is decimated by The International. A type of new Reich of off cast soldiers. It's a bit confusing. The turncoat drug soldier agrees to take Able Team down south to try to smash the fascist army and corrupt Mexican government. A rebel group a Yaqui's take up the fight to try to save there people and land.
It's full blown action from cover to cover in book #13. G.H. Frost penned this outing. He wrote Army Of Devils in this series which was a stand out book. A word of warning, though. This book is continued in book #14, so if you want to know what happens, get book 14. I did. That one's up next.
Part of an intermittent story arc that had Able Team encountering a Fascist conspiracy to take over Mexico and Central America, this one has Able Team on a scouting mission into the opium-producing areas of the Mexican jungle. They are following up on information that the Fascists have taken over the herion trade to fund their operations. This is, in fact, the case. The plane transporting the Team is shot down by Fascist troops, leaving them on foot. But they find allies among the Yaqui Indians and are soon ready to strike back at the bad guys.
The final action sequences, involving napalm, machine guns, helicoptors and claymore mines, is intense and exciting. What makes this one particularly interesting is the very intelligent look at the moral greys in the stituation. Able Team's allies are people who have been forced to either grow opium or let their families starve. Carl Lyons at first hates teaming up with them--in his view, bad guys are bad guys. But the Yaqui are brave, hate the Fascists (who are unrepentently evil) and are perfectly happy to grow corn if they are left in peace and allowed to develop their land. Carl has to set his black-and-white view of the situation aside to team up with allies Able Team needs in order to continue the fight.
The book ends with a cliffhanger--Able Team in a captured helicopter and a Fascist prisoner flies off to attack the Fascist headquarters.
Another enjoyable Able Team entry by G.H. Frost. As usual, Frost writes the Able boys with more personality than some of the other writers. The action moves the story along quickly, and the story is set to continue in the next book.
