This collection is a little bit confusing in its construction. I thought Shiomi was going to string together some kind of overarching plot about the 'Lore' website 'choosing people' and ruining their lives, but he was totally absent from the second chapter. However, each story was quite good individually so it's still a collection that's worth your time.
Forest of Lore: Eiko loves telling urban legends in class, but Hiiko is easily frightened. However, she does seem to get some enjoyment and tags along while Eiko investigates the mysterious sculpture in the school courtyard. Meanwhile, Shiomi lurks around being cryptic about the Lore website. There's a very nice reveal at the end about Eiko and Hiiko's relationship that I won't spoil. Excellent first chapter. 5/5
Facade of the Backside: Tsukasa's parents both die so he moves in with his granny in a small rural town. Of course, there are a bunch of urban legends and creepy rumors! That's small-town-chic! The true interest is the 'guardian spirit' that hangs around Tsukasa. Again, it was a really lovely reveal of who the spirit was and a few creepy panels in closing. (I don't know why one of the kids wasn't Shiomi? He should have been there to bring everything full circle.) 4/5
Lost at Home: Siblings, Naoto and Noriko, are mourning the recent death of their father and the less recent loss of their cousin, Kanae. When they wander into a sewer where they used to play as children, they seem to be transported into a world of ghosts. Kanae and their father are both alive there, but they can't come back with the siblings. Shiomi is lurking, asking poignant questions. It has a nice twist ending, but a little too much was left up to your imagination. I would have liked to know what fully happened. 3/5
A Blade of Leaf: This is only a few pages long and seems to outline how Shiomi was 'chosen' or possessed by the Lore website. Very cryptic though and unsatisfying as a final chapter after how great the others were. 2/5
The art was very beautiful and, for a horror manga, it wasn't incredibly graphic or bloody. Overall, it was a very nice collection that I wish had a sequel. 4/5 overall.
