While protecting her Overwatch squad as they rescue hostages from a Talon stronghold, sniper Ana Amari faces off against an unforeseen foe—a shooter who’s as good as she is. Ana must use all her wiles to get her people out of harm’s way, but at what cost?
Andrew R. Robinson is a writer at Blizzard Entertainment. He co-authored the comic book StarCraft: Soldiers, and has also written for the Overwatch and Warcraft franchises.
This is my favorite of the Overwatch comics so far. Anna, an elite sniper, deals with the difficulties of being a sniper as tragedy strikes her team. The internal dialogue does a good job of developing the character. Also, this delivers quite a lot of backstory for such a short comic.
Ana, the central character here, is the mother of the central character in #5. This is an excellent sniper story, though I will admit as a non-player of the video game this series is based on, I ended up looking up the characters after reading this. This volume also ties into the following #8.
I love how this series presents female characters. Truly wonderful.
Rewritten review; old review incorporated into new
In the seventh issue of Overwatch Digital Comics, we follow Ana Amari in her own mini adventure, Legacy. Whilst protecting her Overwatch squad as they rescue hostages from a Talon stronghold, sniper Ana Amari faces a foe she's never come across before — a sniper as good as her. Ana must do everything she can to keep her people out of harm's way – but at what cost?
This is a stunning story about war, loyalty and justice; wanting to be there for family. It touched my heart, and honestly, tears sprung up at one point. That's right. I cried during a 10 page comic. I'm weak. It was such a stunning few frames though and really touched my heart, it hurt to see.
The artwork is amazing again. Bengal has produced quality images yet again for this comic series and every time, his skill amazes me. The story is beautiful, Robinson once again bringing such immaculate writing to the board. Combining their two talents, this comic ends up a stunning piece of work.
I enjoy reading the *Overwatch* comics. My fiance's friend is trying to get me into the *Overwatch* game - but, it seems so different from these comics. Now, my fiance' thinks he should get me the game - but, I'm really not interested.
The comic is very short (10 pages) and expands the lore of the game Overwatch. It is the story of Ana and her mission with Soldier 76. The story tells where she got her eyepatch and sets up part 8 of the comics.
The comic is beautifuly illustrated and fits the art of Overwatch. I recommend reading this comic if you enjoy the game and its lore
This is fine. It's just fine. It's not atrocious but I don't think Anna's story works with so little to it. What makes it even more so is that it's linked directly to the game's storyline instead of just adding to the characters or to the lore itself. Wish it had more.
Me encantó.
The story started off so good, telling the story of a sniper on a mission. The ending gives no finality to the story and we are left to wonder what happens.
Meiner Meinung nach der beste Overwatch Comic, intensiv geschriebene Story line, die einen regelrecht fesselt und mit Spannung durchflutet. Nur zu empfehlen.
