I didn't tell Roman we had a son. I didn't know. Roman This town was going to sh*t long before I got here. Alexandria's the kind of place that attracts the scum of the earth - people like me. It's a real mob city. The only person doing a damn thing to turn it round was Ellie. But I barely met her before her abusive ex stole her away - and left her in a coma. I'll remember the night we shared until my dying day. Fate snatched her away from me once, but this time I'm not giving him a say. Ellie's been hurt more in her life than anyone I've ever met. So when Victor Antonov put a hit out on her, I knew I had to stop it. I had to save her. Victor's about to find out what happens when you threaten the woman I love. I'm going to make him pay. Ellie I don't remember what happiness feels like. Four years with Rick saw to that. When the police locked him away, Roman showed me how to feel again, how to hope - and how a man should treat his lady. And then Rick broke out of jail. Seeing him in that dark alleyway was the last thing I remember. And I forgot. I forgot love, and hope - and even Roman himself. Now my life's in the balance, and every gangster in Alexandria is hunting for me. There's only one man on my side, a killer called Roman. He stirs something inside me, and every time I see him, my body aches. It's trying to tell me something, trying to reveal a secret... I just don't know what. Hitman's Baby is a standalone secret baby romance, the second in the Mob City universe - but don't worry, you can read it on its own! Holly doesn't do cliffhangers, and she guarantees an HEA every time.
Librarian Note: There is more than one author by this name in the Goodreads database.
I make my bad boys jump from the frying pan into the fire, and straight into the heroine's bed. I like 'em bad, foul mouthed, and with eyes for the only woman in their life.
The Hitman's Baby is gritty, raw, and powerful. It has a great mix of angst, suspense, domestic violence, unexpected twists, a hot, sexy hitman, romance, swoon worthy moments, a captivating story-line and interesting characters.
I would recommend this book and series to all that love the darker side of life and all that go with it. Abuse what an ugly word but it really does not fully describe what suffers go through. This books bring to reality the terrible consequences of abuse. I really enjoyed the way this author constructed the book, I loved Ellie and her will and determination, I loved her fight, and I loved her compassion. Roman a man of few words that has to confront his pain and demons, he's loyalty to a woman that he does not know, but who touch such a deep part of his soul. This is raw, it's dirty, it's violence and the side of people that most of us never have to face a whole different world really but it's there it's real unfortunately it's now and very real. My only complaint is that in parts the descriptive narrative was hard to plow thru. But I suppose I was just being impatient. The sexual side was extremely well written and very much a turn on, I really enjoyed the connection between Ellie and Roman, I think there character development was wonderful. I feel you could easily read this as a stand alone book but with the first instalment it makes for a truly wonderful series. I can't wait for the next one. I received this as an arc copy for a true and and truthful review.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. First, I did not read Brawler's Baby (Mob City) (Volume 1) before reading this; absolutely not necessary. Second, I absolutely loved this book, which actually surprised me a little bit. I was expecting the same old story, girl gets knocked up by hot mob guy and runs scared. That is so not what happens in this book! I was shocked by the unexpected twists that this book took, and I loved every minute of it. The fact that an investigative journalist, Ellie, got tangled up in the messes that she did was amazing. But, I sat on the edge of my seat while they were slowly untangled at the end. My only wish was to have seen (or read) about the justice Ellie's ex-boyfriend had coming to him, no matter the form. And, let's not forget about Roman, the hot, brooding hitman who has sentenced himself to a life of isolation. The heat between them sizzles while they try to save what is rightly theirs. A definite must read for fans of Holly Hart, bad-boy romances, or anything in-between.
This book is about Ellie, a reporter who just got out of an abusive relationship, and Roman, a hitman who is starting to withdraw from life. Ellie and Roman meet one night at a bar where Roman saves Ellie from some guys and they have a one night stand. Not long after that Ellie's ex-boyfriend attacks her and she spends the next ten months comatose. Ellie and Roman meet up again when he kidnaps her and they realize that she had been pregnant at the time of the attack. They are soon on the search for their child, her memories, and why Victor wants Ellie dead. This was a gritty, dirty, and sexy adventurous book and I look forward to reading the next book in this series. I received an ARC in exchange for a honest review.
I received this for my honest review. Ellie has just sent her abusive boyfriend to jail and decides to get out and try to enjoy herself but as she sits in a dive of a bar some loud construction workers become too full on and get scary towards her. There is a guy sat in the corner observing everything and before it goes too far he saves her and they have one night of passionate sex leads that leads you on a journey with them that you won't believe. Roman is a hitman happy to just stay in the shadows as well as hating how his life has turned out but then Ellie walks into it and it all changes..........
3 Bad Boy/Mafia novels (Brawler's, Hitman's and now Phantom's Baby)
You certainly can’t be interrupted when you are reading them, you don't stop til the end of the story, and you ask for the following one! I definitely enjoyed the writing and the alternating from hero to heroine. I like to inside the caracter, find myself in the person in the book.
Holly/Ellen can write and write well – the story unites two very damaged souls together into a HEA with many twists and turns. It’s keeps you engrossed from beginning to end.
Adult Romance/Mafia Romance (Contains the sensitive subject of physical and mental abuse)
ARC provided for an honest review - book is now available on Amazon!
Ellie is a smart and beautiful woman whose life is about to be turned upside down. She works as reporter and her current project is a story to bring down the Russian Mob. Of course, she has been doing her fair share of investigating for this story and the Mob has noticed. She is no longer safe. Ellie has even more to overcome. She has been in an abusive relationship for years and her confidence/freedom stolen from her. After a severe attack that ultimately sends her to the hospital and lands her abuser in jail, she decides to go out and enjoy her freedom. Her night out quickly becomes ruined when a group of guys begin to her harass her, luckily Roman is there to protect her. Little does Ellie know, Roman is about to become much more than her savior.
Roman is a paid hitman. He gets the job done, no questions asked. Fate has brought him to the bar where a breathtakingly beautiful woman, Ellie, is being harassed by a group construction workers. When he saves her he doesn't expect to be taken back to her place. A night of "having fun" ends up turning into something more. This one night stand will forever tie him and Ellie together.
I really enjoyed the beginning of this story. Ellie is very likable and relatable. From the very beginning I wanted her to overcome her abuser and take a stand to be stronger, independent and to gain her confidence back. I wanted her to build her life back up and take on the world but life never goes as planned. Ellie's life is quickly turned upside down. I do really like that she never gives up and keeps fighting for what she wants, this is very inspirational and a great message in this story! Roman is very similar although he is more of a mystery. The reader isn't introduced to Roman and his back story until further into the story which makes it a little bit harder to connect and understand him... but once he is introduced I felt more emotional invested in him. I wanted Roman to also overcome his past and grow as a character.
My main criticism of this book is that I lost a bit of interest due to the lack of romance/chemistry between Roman and Ellie after the beginning. The beginning hooked me and then it fizzled. I would have loved a little more than a one night stand or maybe have Roman express more interest in Ellie. Having his perspective and thoughts on Ellie, like him being attracted to her, wanting to know more about her, even investigating into her could have helped build up the chemistry/attraction and kept the story captivating. Don't let this part keep you from reading this! The story picks back up about halfway through and will take you for a ride!
Another great thing about this novel is the plot. This plot is full of twist, turns and suspense! Oh my goodness - I was on the edge of my seat multiple times and could not put this book down! I flew through it! The last half was my favorite AND it featured characters from Holly Hart's Brawler's Baby.
Check out Hitman's Baby on Amazon and the first in the "secret baby series", Brawler's Baby (My Review - kellybookblog.com)! Both can be read as standalones.
Ellie was a reporter but she had a hard life the man she thought that she loved didn't love her but he thought it was a;right to beat her whenever he felt like it and the last time he tried to kill her by choking her to death the police came in time and she woke up on the way to the hospital and he was put in jail and she thought that she was safe she and her ex's dog she was sure that he would not be out on bail she didn't have any confidence to stand up for herself as much as she wanted too. She goes a dive bar having a drink she isn't sure why she picked this place but she just wanted to sit and have a drink alone even though their were others in the bar none bothered her until some street workers came in and they decided that Ellie was up for grabs she was so frightened she just shut down and she wanted to tell them to leave her alone they continued to crowd her and one put his arm around her shoulders and she couldn't stand it so she told the guy to get his filthy hands off her and one of his friends pulled out a knife she was so terrified she looked to the bartender for help but he wasn't looking at her on purpose he didn't want to get involved but their was one in the bar who was not going to let anyone hurt her he had been watching and he saw she was beautiful but he wouldn't talk to her because he was not that kind of person who use a lot of words he thought they would leave her alone, but they chose to be idiots and he got up and he threat two of the four and they left but the biggest bully and his buddy weren't giving up and when this big muscled handsome man came up and caught her eye he took care of both of the bullies then the bartender tries to get an attitude but her hero wasn't having any smack out of that coward and he demanded two free drinks on the house he took Ellie to his table and she ask his name which was Roman they talked and then he took her home where they made love and never saw each other again. She was gathering information for her big story the biggest story of her life if she could get all the information on the Russian Mob Boss she was recovering from a coma. She was having a problem with her memory it had been 10 months that she has been in a coma and was recovering the last month she felt stronger but and she was upset because she knew they (the nurses and the doctor) weren't telling her something but she didn't know what it was and she was not going to find out for a while longer because Roman came to kidnap her from the hospital to prevent her from being murdered. Unfortunately she didn't remember who he was. This is their story it is powerful, suspenseful, action packed and heart warming. I received a copy for an honest review.
Ellie is an investigative journalist who has gathered information on Victor Antonov, a Russian Mob boss. Enough to put him in jail for a long time. She had already sent her abusive boyfriend to jail. Not a way to make friends but these are not the kind of friends she wants anyway.
She went to an out of the way bar (that was a real dive) hoping to just get out and have a quiet drink. That didn't happen. A group of loud construction workers started hitting on her (to put it mildly) and wouldn't leave her alone. A man sitting in a corner, Roman, was watching and came to help her before it got out of hand. Roman had also been looking for a quiet place to have a drink. He is a hitman so he never wants to be noticed. They ended up having an amazingly passionate night of sex. Soon after Ellie's ex escaped from jail, found her and beat her so badly she was hospitalized and in a coma for almost a year. When she woke up she had amnesia, so she didn't know she had a baby or who the father was.
When Roman gets a message that Ellie is on a hit list, he kidnaps her to save her once again. Before they can get their baby, it gets kidnapped by Victor. What they go through to try and find the baby is not to be missed.
I LOVED this book. It was very hard for me to put down. The writing was fantastic and the characters! The characters were wonderfully written. Ellie had been horribly abused by her boyfriend but she didn't leave him. This made her feel like a failure but she was a strong woman who researched relentlessly into people who could do her great harm. But she wanted the truth to come out more than she wanted to be safe. A very caring woman she loved both Roman and her baby deeply. Roman had a very hard family life which he kept hidden - until Ellie came into his life. He was the strong silent type who scared most people. But not Ellie. I love it when the tough bad boy completely turns to mush when a woman and baby come into his life.
I really enjoyed this fast paced story with lots of twists throughout. The writing is so smooth and seamless that the dark scenes about domestic abuse, hitmen, corruption and violence are not hard to handle. The only thing I had a hard time with was I didn't want it to end. I want to know more about this couple so I hope they appear in the next book in this series, Phantom's Baby.
This is the second book in the Mob City series but can be read as a standalone.
This is the first novel I read by Holly Hart and I’m going to come out with it straight away, it wasn’t really my thing. It happens. The biggest deal breaker for me was that I missed some reality and believability. Let me start with this: if you were chased by some killers, wouldn’t your first thought be why? When finally an explanation is provided, all Ellie can say is oh well, this explains why. For being such a great investigative reporter (which she actually remembers being), she really doesn’t feel the impulse for a little digging into the matter and just lets it come over her.
There were a couple of other things that I had a strife with. One of them is Ellie’s character in fact. I felt it a bridge too far that she goes from being a punching bag for Rick to being a true heroine, not afraid to go pick a fight with the bad guys (although she should know by now that she can’t win these fights). Moreover, if there are two people in the world who would have trust issues, it should be Ellie and Roman, yet they put their blind faith into the good intentions of a stranger like it’s nothing.
Then there were some things that didn’t correlate: if someone was kidnapped in the hospital, wouldn’t the police be involved and investigate this? Why did the bad guys do a kidnapping at all if she wasn’t meant to wake up? And why does it say in the blurb that her body is trying to tell a secret and does it say first that she had a son? I felt that should have been a surprise.
Anyway, it did have some great qualities too, my favorite part of the book was definitely the beginning where I could read about Ellie’s struggle with Rick, and what I liked very much too was the fact that the cover of this book suggested maybe otherwise but I was happy there was just a smut scene or 2 which didn’t take pages on end like in some other books. Maybe I’m just used to books with a huge amount of accuracy and detail. If that’s the thing, you should hold out on this one. If you like just the whole bad boy and mobster scene setting, you might find this to your liking.
I received a free copy of this novel from the author in exchange for my honest opinion.
Who can decipher a book just by its title? I mean, does the title get us captivate? I cannot always get this response when I have a book but there was something in this title who arrested me. Holly Hart is a new author to me, but I can assure you that I will follow her work closely. Holly has a complex but very detailed writing. The way she tells this story leaves us so amazed that I couldn't drop the book. “Hitman's baby” is the second book from the Mob City series and tells the stories of Ellie and Roman. Ellie has a life marked by poverty, violence and abandonment. After almost died at the hands of the person who was supposed to love her unconditionally she has to start her life from scratch but unfortunately things are not always easy. Roman is a hired killer with a tortured and dark soul. When he’s forced to help a beautiful woman he has no idea what he’s getting himself to. But it will be a turn for the better or for the worse? Can you be truly happy when we are constantly terrified? Will it be possible to find happiness when you look constantly over your shoulders? A lot has happened and I can tell you that I really liked what I’ve read. I love the suspense, the mystery but loved the hot scenes so freaking much. My god the hot scenes are mind-blowing. The way this book is written you will not be able to stop reading, because when you think all is well something happens and the desire to know what's going to happen is going to make you read over and over. Now I'm going to start reading the third book of this series and I know that I’ll love it as much as I loved this one.
Wow, this was a new author to me and not at all what I expected the story to be. It was enchanting, mesmerizing, and hard to put down. Not fluff or a sappy love story. But a story of the challenges that we call life.
Ellie is an investigative reporter that can’t seem to get herself out of an abusive relationship. A stop at a local dive bar ends up with her being hit upon by a group of drunks. She can’t seem to avoid these lowlifes. Her rescuer leads to a one night stand of hot sex. She thinks that her abuser is behind bars and out of her life for at least a long while. Then he catches her defenseless after working late one night. He beats her so bad that she ends up in a coma for months.
Miraculously she recovers but can’t remember the past year. Almost ready to be discharged, she is suddenly kidnapped by an attractive man who seems to know her. Grabbing her medical records in the dash to leave proves to be a good move by Roman. He tried to find her before and only knew where she was when her name and face came up on his phone as his next job. Roman was a hitman and she was the target but he was turning down that job.
One of the stories she was working on involved the mob boss that Roman had worked for. What she didn’t know until now was that during her time at the hospital, she gave birth to Roman’s child. That mob boss wanted revenge on her and kidnapped the child.
Could they work together to rescue the baby even though they don’t trust each other?
I received an ARC from the author for an honest and unbiased review.
This was a really enjoyable story with lots of excitement and twists. Ellie had been a survivor of abuse by her ex-boyfriend who was supposed to be in jail. She needed to take back her life, so she goes to a bar. But she finds herself the object of desire for a group of men who do not have good intentions. However, she is soon rescued by a dark and dangerous stranger and she finds an attraction she can't resist and she gives into that attraction for one night of pleasure. That night has consequences though, one she won't know for a year and even then she doesn't remember at first. Her ex puts her into a coma and when she wakes up 10 months later, without a memory and to be kidnapped by her former hero that she doesn't remember. Roman was a hit man and when Ellie's name came up as an assignment, he knew he had to save her. What he didn't know was about the baby they made from that one night a year ago. Now he must save her and their baby, if only she could remember. This was a great read, kept you guessing. You never knew who you could trust and who would survive some evil people. Definitely a book that was hard to put down as you want to know what would happen next. There was definitely dark undertones in this book, many men found it to be no problem taking what they want from women. And others killed without a thought, plus kidnapping a baby. It really was a good read and would recommend it.
I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review.
I loved the first book of the series and I love the second one, although I am having a little bit of ARC reader problems but those problems will be fixed when it goes through editing again. Besides that, I really did enjoy this book.
An alpha hitman who isn’t afraid to get in touch with his feelings and a woman who has a new shot at life, how can I resist? I can tell, when the editing is finished, the writing and the story will be even more amazing.
Holly Hart is an author that I’m proud to put in my favorites list and I’m very excited about this series.
While the cover is almost identical to Brawler’s Baby, I’m still in love with it and I feel it gives the series a theme. The blurb, I swear this lady knows how to write a blurb to get readers hooked and she knows how to keep them interested.
For the story, that pace is perfect and the surprise guest made me very happy, I really hope this kind of thing happens in every book.
I have trouble putting these books down and I may be getting ahead of myself since it’s only the second book but I have a feeling that it’s going to be the same with the other books. I’m very excited to see where this series is going.
I didn't like this book. Roman was supposed to be this bad boy hit man and have little feelings and his soul blackened and nearly gone (in his mind). Ellie was supposed to be this strong and great journalist (even though she wrote in a small town)....yes they had a "one night stand" although that really didn't mesh since Roman went back to the bar looking for her (why didn't she go to see him again too if she missed him?). Another problem I had....why didn't she have any symptoms that might, just might have clued her in that she was pregnant? Also, she had a dog and the question of what happened to her dog while she was in a coma was never answered. I also never got a full answer on what happened to her abusive ex. Another major problem? Usually when an abusive ex (especially after an attempted murder) gets out of jail, the police alert the spouse or boy/girl friend that was abused that their abuser is out. Yet, she had no warning? Also, she's a JOURNALIST! Why wasn't she FOLLOWING the case? Didn't she want to make SURE he never got out? That if she needed to testify, she was there with bells on? Also, how did she recover from his abuse so easily? She went from literally one day being abused to finding a man the next! What the heck?
I really enjoyed this story! It was a good read. Roman's a hitman but he has hit a block where he doesn't really want to take any more lives but isn't sure where to go/what to do. Roman has a good heart. Ellie has not had an easy couple of years. She's been in an abusive relationship but he's recently gotten put behind bars and she has no plans on having anything to do with him. She heads out to a bar and ends up in a bad situation where Roman comes to her rescue. They have an instant connection. Ellie ends up in a coma from her ex and wakes up almost a year later with no memory from recent years. Roman shows up to save her again but they are in a mess with her having no memory and another nice little surprise for them. I enjoyed the characters in this story. They both have had horrible pasts that they have to work through and deal with in order for them to make their relationship work. This story has a lot of action and intrigue in it, as twists and turns keep coming as you read. There's a lot of sexual tension between Roman and Ellie but not a lot of sex which is understandable with the story and how it unfolds. I thought it was well done. This story is the second in the series but can be read as a standalone without any issues.
Ellie is an Investigative Reporter for the Herald in Alexandria. She was working on the story of her career, the corruption of the Russian Mob in Alexandria. She also was a victim of domestic abuse. After a severe beating by Rick, and after being released from the hospital, she decides to go out to have a drink and was accosted by some construction workers. Roman comes to her rescue even though he normally stays clear of conflict he is not paid to handle.
Roman is a loner. Being a paid assassin, he couldn't afford to be close to anyone. After an explosive night with Ellie, he can never locate her again until her picture came through as his next hit job. Knowing he needed to save her again, he kidnaps her and the intrigue and excitement begins.
This is the first book of Holly Hart's I have read but definitely I'll be reading the first in the series and any other books she has written. She draws you in and you can't put the book down. It has some twists, suspense, romance, and some violence. I highly recommend this book. I received this ARC in exchange for a honest review.
Ellie has been on the recieveing end of an abusive relationship for far too long. She thought that she was finally off the merry-go-round of domestic violence when her ex was thrown in jail. While at a bar - alone - she is acosted by a group of men with nefarious intentions, only to be rescued by a 'knight in shining armor' known as Roman. There meeting results in a one night stand. Neither know that that one night will bind the two together forever.
This is my confession: After their night together, the book - for me - goes a little off the rails. The relationship between Ellie and Roman feels a bit...stilted. Im not one for spoilers so all I can really say is that there isnt much directly involving the baby and I dont get the feeling of a strong maternal instinct from Ellie. Given the circumstances I guess its to be expected.
Hitman's Baby trails off of the first volume: Brawler's Baby.
I am sure that this book will hit home for a lot of people. No not the mob side of it -- Though it could be... But just the words and actions of an abusee. The thoughts made me cry because there are moments of PTSD that kick in and the whole process of the inner workings of it all. You just have to question yourself and the life that you live because what if you were in their shoes. Would you be able to stop this?
To write a review for this wouldn't do it justice. I found myself falling in love with the character as each second passed. But I was confused because there were multiple character perspectives and had to flip back pages to find out whose perspective that I was reading. Other than that, I loved how Holly Hart tied in the first novel to the second.
Hitman's Baby is the second book in the Mob city universe and it's a standalone novel. The characters from the first book appeared in this story, but there was no need to know their back story.
Here is the thing. Sometimes I felt lost while reading the book. I will let go the fact that Ellie spends 10 weeks not knowing that she is pregnant. I cannot understand why Roman didn't keep a better track of the baby or even claim it since it was his child. Also the scene with Ellie and the nurse seemed forced, like it didn't belong there. Some moments just threw me off and that left me a bad impression. How could the doctors not tell her that she was pregnant and that they gave the baby away? It serves the plot because she can chase the bad guys, but shouldn't the doctors tell her something so vital?
This book definitely did not go in the direction I was lead to believe. It's a good story, it had much more substance than I expected.
It concentrated on her recovering from her memory loss after coming out of a coma and the mob-related story she was working on before the incident, the baby part felt like an afterthought. I know that was suppose to be the main object for Ellie and Roman but.......I don't know, whatever.
There are twist and turns, action and suspense that will keep some readers going but it wasn't enough for me. Also, I received this copy in exchange for a honest review......soooo I might have received an unedited version because the typos and her dog's sex change, was just wrong. (The dog was referred to as a girl, then a boy, then a girl again.....and this was before Ellie's coma/amnesia).
Ellie is a pretty girl who has been beat down by her man but she has finally stood up for herself and wants to let loose. However she soon realizes her mistake in bar choice and isn't seeing a way out of the mess that has centered around her. Roman can see Ellie doesn't belong in this bar and he has a fierce need to protect her. Once out of the bar and the bad news that was there Ellie is ready to show Roman how thankful she is - he is gorgeous after all. After their hot steamy night Ellie's ex comes back for a little pay back. When Ellie & Roman cross paths again she doesn't remember him but he does make her feel safe. Things go from ugly to letting it all out and then on a mission together to get their future back. Not much in the hot sex department but a great story with lots of twists and turns. Fantastic ending.
Heart-wrenching tale of two people who personally lived through years of cruelty and abuse. Roman & Ellie stumble into each other's life for one memorable night together. Then, Ellie's worst nightmare catches up with her one dark night in an alley. From there on, the story becomes dark, intense, mystery filled and earth shattering. When Ellie emerges from her coma, she experiences amnesia and the unsettling feeling someone is out to erase her. Who can she trust? Why her? What is it that is being withheld from her? Greatest mystery ever with lots of nail-biting action. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Five stars.
Well, this book will surprise you. That's for sure. Ellie wakes up in hospital after being in coma for nine months. And not only that. She wakes up with amnesia. So, she doesn't remember Roman, a mysterious man who she slept with around a year ago. But he is very important in her life. Among other things, he must save her from being killed because she has been targeted by very bad people. This book is okay. As I said before, it will surprise you since the plot is quite original. But it is too descriptive for my liking and sometimes, it seemed to drag on. I received a copy from the autor in exchange for an honest review.
This is my first time reading a book from Ms. Hart and it won't be the last. I was definitely intrigued about a hit man, the woman who is his target and the connection they have. The whole coma/amnesia was done decently but could've have been explained a bit further in my opinion. The ending was okay, I just like declarations of love etc. and where it's pretty much accepted that's what we get, it's not spoken. The characters were developed well enough and I was entertained.
* I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.*
This is my first book by Ms. Hart, and I enjoyed the heck out of it! The story is fast paced and the characters are likeable. Warning--there is some pretty graphic violence in the book that some may find uncomfortable. I loved how our heroine had an career and to all outward appearance seemed fine, yet was a victim of domestic abuse...I think this happens in the real world more often than we would like to admit. Read the synopsis then pick this one up! Note I received a copy of this book and I have in turn left this honest review.
I absolutely loved this book. You don't have to read book 1 in the series to get the story. There are some shocking twists I definitely didn't' see coming. It kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved Roman and Ellie was great also. These two have things that they are struggling with. Will they get past the issues and find love with each other? Holly Hart really pulls you in with her writing. I highly suggest you 1-click and get started today.
Ellie has the Hitman's Baby and that baby turns his life in a whole new direction! Got to love the HEA's! Another great hit by Holly Hart! It was so good to revisit with Maya and Connor too! Ellie is an investigative reporter that survived not one but two incidents of domestic violence with her ex. The experiences are handled very well and I am happy to see donations to domestic abuse organizations. Roman is a hitman who comes to Ellie's rescue without protection. I received an ARC in lieu of an honest review. I honestly love this story and this series!
