When New York is under attack, a Navy SEAL, a group of Doms, and their feisty subs are there to save the day.
Navy SEAL Faulkner ‘Dude’ Cooper and his wife Cheyenne are in New York City for a working holiday. Lectures at the police conference by day and exploring the local BDSM clubs by night. What could be better?
When Dude meets Detective Brice Marshall his first day in town, the Dom and his tightknit circle intrigue him. He and Cheyenne decide to join with their new friends in order to further explore the heights of their relationship and the incredible depth of their devotion.
But, when the past comes back to haunt them it will take the help of new friends and old to come together in order to face it.
Lainey- born in Tacoma, Washington- was raised mostly in Nevada and California. The youngest of five, Lainey dreamed of being an actress and starring in blockbuster movies she wrote herself. As she grew, the dreams of being on the big screen faded but the ones of writing those fantastic stories never did. At 17 Lainey read her first romance novel and knew she’d found her calling. Here were the stories like the ones in her own heart and mind, and like tumblers falling into position on a combination lock, everything just clicked into place and the world was open to her. It took a long time before she could work up the courage and belief in herself to try but finally, in 2010 Lainey held her breath and took the leap. Her first novel A Table For Three debuted in February and she hasn’t looked back since. Nor has she given up hope that one day, she will be sitting in a theater and it will be one of her stories on the big screen… Along with her husband and two dogs, Lainey lives in Marysville, Washington and they have a daughter going to college in Bellingham. Look for Lainey’s edge of your seat adventure The Pod coming later in 2019.
I loved the New York series by Lainey Reese, the first book was actually my first threesome book and I was hooked on the rest of the series. This book features two characters from "Protecting Cheyenne"(Seals of Protection #5) by Susan Stoker, Faulkner "Dude" Cooper and his wife Cheyenne. It also features, Cade Marshall, Trevor Wellington and their wife/sub,Riley, Detective Brice Marshall and his wife/sub,Terryn, and a brief appearance by Evan, Cami & Ziporah from Lainey's New York series. Dude and his wife, Cheyenne (Shy) are in NYC, he's there because he's a guest lecturer at the police conference because he is a highly decorated Navy Seal who is an explosives expert. Dude is a very confident, dominate man and while he and Shy have played a little with BDSM in their relationship he wants to take it to the next level. Him and Shy go out to dinner with Brice and Terryn, Cade, Trevor and Riley so Shy can get to know the other women and see that they are subs. After a sexually tortuous dinner for the women they all go to a BDSM club that Cade & Trevor are interested in buying. Dude tells Shy he just wants her to watch everything going on at the club and that they don't have to do anything in public. He is surprised how watching a scene between Cade, Trevor and Riley turns both him and Shy on so much she ends up submitting beautifully for him in front of everyone and instead of being embarrassed she feels empowered. Something horrible from Dude and Cheyenne's past has followed them to NYC and the results could be deadly.
I had a hard time with this one. I enjoy BDSM and Stoker’s books, but they just didn’t go together very well. They groundwork hasn’t been set very well in the previous books so it just feels very out of the blue. Not horrible, but not my favorite.
I don't know why this is my first book by Lainey. I didn't know what to expect. Didn't know her writing style or even what genre she wrote.
From this book, "Holy Sh-t Batman" this was incredible. Definitely putting her other books in my must read WISH LIST.
Dude and Shy first appear in Susan Stokers book Protecting Cheyenne. You don't have to read that to follow this story (but it's really a great book to go back & read). Lainey does a great job of giving backstory on all the characters so you don't feel like you've missed anything. They really work well together. This has great love, bdsm, hotness, heroism, and friendship.
It's a book you won't want to put down. I finished in a day. Can't wait to start Lainey's New York series with the other characters in the book.
This book seems like a contrived suspense with lots of bdsm thrown in. Writing felt amateurish. Author used Dude and Cheyenne from a Susan Stoker book and brought them to NYC to introduce them to bdsm clubs. Wasted time. Glad it wasn’t longer.
Dude and Cheyenne are my favourite couple from Susan Stokers SEAL series so it’s fantastic to be able to get a continuation on their story and relationship.
Heading to New York Dude and Cheyenne socialise with some of the local law enforcement, who like them, are into the BDSM lifestyle. When the past comes back to haunt to them, will history repeat itself.
I honestly loved this book. Even though it’s written by a different author the characters have not changed in the slightest. The character Susan Stoker had written have been continued flawlessly. I actually laughed out loud at the “Holy S**t, Batman” line 🤣🤣🤣. I’ll not lie the chapters in the BDSM club were HOT!!! They were written perfectly. The crux of the story was also written with so much compassion. It was pretty emotional and I my heart went out to this poor boy and also to Cheyenne who felt personally responsible for him.
This book was more of a Drama I thought. Sure there was some BDSM references but there were more moments along the line of a police drama. Dude is a SEAL who happens to also be a Dom. He’s married to Shy who is new to the bdsm lifestyle. In the past there was a tragedy and a teenaged boy is to avenge his brothers by blowing up a hotel that’s hosting a police convention. He changes his mind and sets about fixing what he did and disarming the bombs.
Although I liked the book it was just ok for me. Not my favorite by this author. I’ll give the next one a chance but if it disappoints that’ll be the end of series for me. I sure hope it’s good!!
As a book borrowing a couple of characters from Susan Stoker, they are well represented in this book. The story line is good, grabbing my attention and investing me in the outcome I gave 4 stars because while the beginning and the end were very well done, the middle was lacking. Not poorly done, just not much substance. I dove right in, did not check the length. So if it's a novella I'll forgive the lack if a middle. And I do plan to check if thus author has more books in this world
If you've read Rescuing Cheyenne by Susan Stoker, this is an extension of Shy and Dude's story. Lainey takes their relationship to a whole new level. Meeting new friends, while keeping with the danger that you find in Susan's books. While they explore a deeper side to their relationship, danger is in yhe background. It'll take Dude and his new friends to keep their partners and everyone else safe.
Special Forces: Operation Alpha: Protecting New York
Re-read this book and noticed that I forgot to leave a review (sorry) great book. I loved it and so glad that it is part of the special forces the bonus of meeting a new (to me) author.
I haven't read this author before but I'm a huge fan of Susan Stoker's series. This is a great follow up to Dude and Chyenne and I'll be looking for more of the NY crew!
If you have never read Laundry Reese 's New York series then you need to. This is a continuation of both here's series and Susan Stoker's Seal of Protection Series. Both are well written and highly enjoyable.
Dude and Shy are back in all their glory, and with a problem that followed them to NY. Will they overcome this and survive what one almost killed her. Read to find out, great story and even better characters.
Ms Reese is a new author for me. I loved that she incorporated BDSM into the lives of a sexy SEAL and law enforcement officers. The club scene was totally HOT. I look forward to reading some more of her books.
A combination of events with the Doms of the Special Forces group and their wives and suspense of a terrorist who places bombs in a major City. An intriguing adventure with emotional conclusions.
They were bathed in the warmth of a brilliant ray of sunshine. Beautiful romance with the Doms & their wives. Action packed addressing real life issues, family, friends and a HEA.
Wowsa who can resist how dominant men and sexy subs? Dude and Cheyenne are in new York city for conference and things go wrong and its the police Department men who step up and help dude .I absolutely love this book.
I read this book because it has Susan Stoker's characters - Dude and Cheyenne (Protecting Cheyenne). It was nice seeing the D/s side of Dude and Cheyenne's relationship. But the book is more sex than it is story. There is a nice wrap up of Dude and Cheyenne's original story.
Will keep you hanging till the end. Faulkner and Shy are great together. This story will surprise you, especially in the club scene (very hot ). Hope you enjoy this as much as I did.
How sad that a family can brainwash a son for vengeance. But, a son’s goodness shines through and he becomes a hero. It was enlightening to follow Dude and Shy to New York with their new law enforcement friends and experimenting with a new life style.
The characters are awesome! Especially Dude and Cheyenne.💖. The story was thrilling and.meaningful. It was touching how Cheyenne and Dude honored Miguel because they seen he didn't want to kill people.
Very poorly written. I only brought this because it had Dude & Cheyenne in it. Instead of including then she should have written a book about bdsm. Very disappointed I paid for if.
Not a Stoker fan but thought I'd give this one a try. Immediately put off in Chapter one when the author calls BDSM fans "sexual deviants". Too many new characters introduced in Chapter one. The writing style is juvenile. Decided this one isn't for me.
The mind is a horrible thing to waste. It's to bad that he didn't realize to it was to late to save his own life. But, he was able to stop the destruction that was planned.
