Pandora Jones is an all-American girl. Serving her country as an ambassador’s Arabic speaking attaché in Iraq, she works hard and travels the world. Until a car bombing kills her employer and leaves her fighting for her life in a country where the customs and traditions treat women radically different. Now, Pandora has information to help bring down a member of ISIS in exchange for passage back home, and the only person who can help her is a ghost from the past.
Cameron “Phantom” Caffee is CIA, an undercover operative stationed in Iraq. His goal—bring down the terrorist organization responsible for destroying his life, and ending his career as an Army Delta Force soldier. When he gets the chance to exchange asylum for valuable intel on ISIS bases, he jumps at the opportunity to finally have his revenge. But when Cam discovers his asset is a woman he thought long dead, the game changes. He joins forces with a deadly Delta Force team to rescue the woman he never stopped loving, and try to get them out of the country before ISIS can destroy them all.
This is the third book in the "Operation Alpha" series that I have read, and I really enjoyed it. I adore Susan Stoker and when I saw this collaboration that entwined my favorite characters from her series with other authors work, I couldn't help but dig in. This story had it all. There was action from the first pages.
Cam and Pandora were married when the unthinkable happened. Pandora was told that Cam died when his special forces unit is ambushed. Cam survived but before Pandora finds out, she is injured in a car bombing and presumed dead. Under dire circumstances, they come face to face five years later and they each are shocked.
I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. Cam and Pandora have to get reacquainted with each other, even though they are married. Their love never died and this story is about them getting back to the way they were.
what I loved:
Kori David packed a lot of story in a small package. I will definitely check out what other books she has out.
**This could have used a better epilogue. It seems that there may have been a set up for two of Cam's former fellow soldiers. It also could have been steamier.
How would you react when you saw your soul mate after 5 years thinking that they had died? You had been apart due to work and then to find that your heart had been ripped out, because you weren't there to save your other half? That is what happens to Pandora and Cam. An unexpected meeting, a lightning strike of emotion, life is going to be a rollercoaster ride as they try and rebuild their life , where they have changed in so many ways, but their love has not. Loved it."
A wonderful second chance at love for Pandora and Cam
What would you do if you found out that your husband and his Delta Team was killed in a vicious attack? Then you were in a car bomb attack that killed the embassy chief? Both Can and Pandora were reported killed and neither of them knew both of them had lived. Would you take out every ISIS splinter group to avenge his wife's murder.
Can has worked for the CIA for the past 5 years plus he want revenge on all of the ISIS splinter group who killed his wife. But when he meets up with Ghost and rest of the Delta Team he learns that the informant is Pandora. But it's her request from Mohammed to save his wife and child while taking out his evil cousin. Can Can and Pandora find love again and can be bond with Sammy who he now knows is his son? I really loved this second chance love story and hope there will be two more with Hawk and Blue.
This is a new author for me. I loved this love story. Two people finding each other again after so long apart. Throw in a few terrorist and some HOT DELTA guys and you have a hit.
Loved this story for a couple of reasons. It started out right away with the edge of your seat suspense. Another reason is it's a powerful story of lost love. To be ripped away from each other would be devastating! They both fought so hard while doing the best they could within the situations they were in.
This book was a definite rollercoaster ride. I laughed (a little) and I cried (a lot). I'm so happy to have discovered a new author through this Kindle World and can't wait to read more by Kori David.
This was an epic story! This is a new author for me, and I chose to read this book first, thank goodness, because it was EXCELLENT!!
This is a story of a married woman accidentally coming face to face with her husband. They each thought the other was dead. Can they get their relationship back? Read the book.
This author adds Susan Stoker's entire Delta team (with Rayne, Emily, and even Annie)
Wow!! This story is about second time around romance with lots of suspense thrown in. Hot characters, alpha military males, family, brotherhood with a huge helping of hot romance. Excellent!!
What a fabulous story. It's starts off in the thick of the action, with twist after twist, then ends with the sweetest most heartfelt Happily Ever After I've read in a long time. This is an author I'd read over and over again. This story, too. -MJ Nightingale
A great story about second chances. Both believing the other dead, Phantom finds Pandora and his son on a mission. With Ghost and the gang as backup, they get their HE. Well written. Just wish it had been longer.
Confused on Hawk & Blue these ARE characters in this Kindle world right? The only Hawk I remember in this world was from another author's world. it was a good book anyhow.
For a quick read, this managed to pack a fair amount in... and it made sense! I think I would've liked more of the latter part of the tale... just to see how they really adjusted ( all of them ).
