The full-length standalone romantic suspense novel that follows celebrity reporter, Julia Mabel, from the Hollywood Dreams series by CJ Thomas.
He could frisk me and tell me to spread ‘em whenever he liked.
Detective Daniel Pierce seemed to have it all: the perfect dimples made for movies, sparkling eyes that set fire to my toes, and a devilishly handsome charm that made my body purr.
But no matter how many times we flirted it up, the timing always seemed to be off for him to ask me out. That was, until we both found ourselves in the apartment of mega-star Hollywood actress, Emelia Adams, to investigate her sudden death.
Nothing brings the heat like chasing a murderer.
And between all the high-paced suspense and having to constantly look over our own shoulders while on our pursuit to bring Emelia the justice she deserved, I still found time to get Dan to throw me up against a wall and tell him to spread me.
Mature audience 18+
Heat also includes a bonus book, Ruin Me Vol. 1, for my readers’ continued enjoyment. Thank you for making this all possible.

## DISAPPOINTED. After all the great reviews, I'm feeling let down. I love romantic suspense novels, but this one left a lot to be desired. This "hero" ruined the story for me. God, he was arrogant. He kept mentioning how many women he'd slept with, even to the heroine. Who does that? On a first date no less. After a party they attended together, he says: thanks for a good time. Should I reach out to all the women who were interested in me last night? (he collected several phone numbers). It's like they were in high school. And then he says, how many reporters had he slept with? Dozens. Come on....that means he slept with AT LEAST 24 reporters. When she wasn't feeling well and wanted to leave the party (their 2nd date), does he drive her home? Nope, he puts her in a cab and stays at the party. This guy was a douchebag for sure. I started referring to him as Dan the douche. He brags about his mansion (because all detectives live in mansions and drive jags), his custom suits and his many, MANY women. Why would any woman find that attractive? Why would any woman want his man parts anywhere near her? Yuck. Don't waste your money on this story.
This book had many twist and turns, very enjoyable. The characters stuck to their particular roles, but their relationship was one in the making. The antagonist wasn't hard to notice, but the way the story unfolded was very well played. At least I can say it wasn't a boring story all about hooking up, falling in love, and hea! There was really good suspense and a little mystery.
I am not sure if this is my first book by C.J. Thomas, or not, but I certainly will read this author's work again. This was a well written romantic suspense novel with a balance of mystery, action, dialogue, and sex. I just loved the main characters and their relationship. It was quite refreshing to find a couple that actually knew each other before jumping into bed with it other. Rating 4.25
Julia I'd a reporter that has always been honest and worked with her celeb. friends and one day investigating a celeb "suicide" with her friend detective Pierce which she always thought was a sexy man. after years of asking her out Pierce was shocked that she finally said yes and from that point one their relationship has been nothing but boring..lots of action and lots sexy scenes thus book is good.
Daniel and Julia... Detective and a reporter. Daniel has liked her for a long time and has wanted to ask her out. Julia shows up at a crime scene, being the diligent reporter, and Daniel sees her. This story is different, but as far as Ms. Thomas is concerned it's the same... as in it's AMAZING like her other stories!
This book is mildly riddled with grammatical errors, but has enough suspense to keep the reader looking for more. Although it includes a bonus novel at the end, it thankfully ends around 80% and it clearly notes the inclusion. The main characters are given to the reader in each POV. The female, Julia, is a reporter and the male, Dan, is a detective. She is appreciated for her work and he is regarded as a top notch criminal detective. Their chemistry is noted early on and the relationship is brought about through their work and support of one another. This does include sections of smut and integrates smoothly with the inclusion of thrilling suspense. It was short enough to complete in a day and would be suggested to others for a fairly decent short story.
