I've read this book like 100 times. (It used to be the only Pokemon manga series I had as a child) it really made me fall in love with the Generation 4 Pokemon franchise!! This book will always stay close to my heart!
Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl Adventure!, Vol. 2 by Shigekatsu Ihara was another great manga for bringing me back to my childhood. I thought this volume of the series did an excellent job really implanting the dark side of the Sinnoh universe into the picture, with its further development of Team Galactic and plans with Dialga. As well as the introduction of how powerful the leaders of Team Galactic actually are.
My main issue with this volume, likewise of the first, is that I find the pacing to be brutal. The reader is rushed through so much of the adventure in an attempt to have as much Team Galactic content as possible. For example, no time is spent in a handful of the gym leaders or what happens on the way to Celestia Town. Those gym leaders and adventures are merely one-time mentions. I understand the difficulty of making such a complex-designed manga longer, but I feel that the super fast pacing takes away from the overall read.
I will say however that I loved that they kept in the Pokèmon Contest. That chapter had me laughing so hard. Ihara’s comedic elements are always very high highlights within the franchise.
This book is called “Pokémon Diamond And Pearl Adventure “, and about a boy named Hareta. He can “connect” to other pokémon’s thoughts and is very Nice, even when he losses a Pokémon battle. He goes on with his friends Mitsumi,Jun, and his Pokémon Piplup. They all go on a adventure to see and study the legendary pokémon Dialga (The pokemon who controls time), but a evil organization named team galactic tries to use Dialga’s powers to try and become a god.I gave this book 5 star review because I am a big fan of graphic novels and this book is filled with adventure and comedy.

I just finished reading the Pokemon Adventures: Diamond and Pearl/Platinum series. My sense after reading 2 volumes of this series is that I'm reading the same plot with the same characters. The authors have created different designs for the characters and altered details of the story.
So far, I like this version better. Hareta is a big reason why; he reminds me of Son Goku from Dragon Ball Z.
I hope the humor continues through the remaining volumes.
After meeting the champion Cynthia and losing to the devious Cyrus, Hareta begins training under gym leader Bryon, only to receive a wondrous gift from a trainer seemingly connected to the power of aura! Ihara continues this exciting journey with more battles and fun sure to please fans. Just what will be inside this precious gift?
poke'mon books! gotta catch them all! Hereta and Mitsumi go on a adventure to a contest of powers, fight team galaxy, and find a bond to poke'mon and humans.
