Muhammad Ali was perhaps the greatest athlete of the twentieth century. But Ali was never just a boxer; he was a fighter. In Fighting Words, editor Keith McArthur curates the very best writing about Muhammad Ali from his vilification at refusing to go to Vietnam to his re-emergence as a saintly hero at the 1996 Olympics. This collection brings together writing from those who fought against him, those he inspired and from Ali himself. Fighting Words is a must read not just for boxing fans, but for anyone interested in twentieth century America. Featuring writing Muhammad Ali, George Foreman, George Chuvalo, James "Quick" Tillis, Ferdie Pacheco, Davis Miller, Victor Bockris, Mike Marqussee, Janaya Khan, Jack Cashill, President Barack Obama and many more!
In 2017, I got a second chance at life when my sister donated one of her kidneys to me. I’m determined not to waste this precious gift. I'm exploring how to be happier, healthier and more productive at http://myinstructionmanual.com and in my new book 18 Steps to Own Your Life.

I'm a Muhammad Ali fan and thought I knew most of the stories. But this book goes deeper and broader, bringing things to light that I had never heard. My fave was the almost-fight with Rocky Marciano but there were many more.
The format is really engaging. It's one short story after another, going from personal to social to comical. Highly recommended.
Excellent read! The author has ,both, entertained and educated me dealing with one of the most controversial and polarizing figures of our times. Like or dislike Mr. Ali you can't stop yourself from wanting to read about him. Well done.
