Orphaned at the age of fifteen after her parents died in a car accident, Myria is no stranger to abandonment when her identical twin sister, Janelle, leaves her in order to live the fabulous life as a wife to Anthony “Dom” Haveras. While Janelle is away living in the lap of luxury, Myria finds herself becoming a byproduct of the streets, ending up in serving a five-year prison sentence for robbery. Deciding that it’s time to turn over a new leaf, Myria reaches out to Janelle, who offers her a warm bed until she manages to get on her feet. While Myria heads to Miami excited to rekindle her relationship with her sister, Janelle has other plans in mind.
Tired of being the long suffering and abused wife of the King of Miami, Janelle spends her days poolside plotting Dom’s downfall. With one elaborate plan after another fails, Janelle decides to go back to the basics and figures that she could pull her own version of a “bait and switch.” The bait? Myria. The switch? The life of luxury she once loved. Not one to be worried by guilt, Janelle places a sleeping Myria in her bed and leaves her waking up in a living nightmare.
With her identity stolen from her, Myria is forced to navigate the inner circle of Miami’s elite as Janelle. With Janelle’s Ice Queen façade in place, Myria makes friends, enemies, and ultimately finds herself falling in love with an unlikely ally-Julio, Dom’s brother. Just when she thinks she has a handle on the situation, Myria discovers a secret regarding Janelle's marriage that makes her think different about who the real abuser is. Will Myria be able to beat Janelle at her own game or will she end up suffocating in Janelle’s bed of lies?
Wow the events that occur were crazy and look how everything played out. Janelle has some serious issues that she needs to work out but I can guarantee she's going to make Myria and Dom's life a living hell before things get back to normal. Can't wait for part 2 good read
I KNEW that Janelle was up to no good from the beginning. How could SHE do her sister like that . Dom was a monster all BEHIND wat his mom did. But Janelle boot to causes them more he'll I hope they ready.
I never thought I could sit aroud and read a novel about black women being abused by a special someone but this novel is so interesting I want see how it ended. It kept me up reading all night the twist and turn of the story is note worthy. I think , I'll look for other titles by this author. I throughly enjoy it and will recommend her to my friends
Lord this was a twisted read from beginning to end. Eventually it got good now I cannot wait til Part 2 to see what chaos the twins have. Janelle just love being cold hearted
Grimey is the right word....Janelle was a dirty b***h. She had no love for no one. Dom turned out to be the good guy....wow! I could believe Julio was crazy. I really like Myria and hope good things happen for her. Good book!
What a great read! Janelle was so wrong the way she did her sister! I knew it was more to Julio then what he led Myria to believe! Can’t wait to read part two because I know they haven’t heard the last of Janelle!
Really enjoyed this story. This a good break from the norm but still gives you all of the juicy drama you love to read. Janelle is the worse sister and wife ever and I can't wait to see what she does next. Dom had me hating him so much only to find myself rooting for him in the end. Myria is a true soldier. She dug herself from a pit of pain and betrayal and I'm looking forward to seeing how she continues to flourish in the next book. Definitely a book worth reading.
Some of it is unbelievable! No way could Myriah slip into Janelle life so easily. She fit too well with Janelle's friends and their lifestyle. She acted as if she was the one who really had sex with Powell. Why weren't there any completed sexual encounters with the husband? However mean, as he slept in his bed for several weeks. This is not believable!! No Sweat
This was a good book, oh my it was filled with so much drama, it was like a roller coaster ride. That's crazy to me how Janelle can leave her sister out to suffer from Dom, like dam that's ruthless. I do have to say I like Dom and Maria together as a couple and hope everything works out for them since Janelle is hell bent on making both their lives a living hell.
At first I didn't think that I would like it but I actually loved it... Janelle was definitely grimey and it was a shame the lengths that she went through... Myria was basically a product of her environment.... Julio seemed great until we got close to the end
The beginning of this book is what interested me the most. Because it was different than the other books that all kind of sound alike. As you read further it's gets better. You realize the author pulled a big one. I really like it. On too part 2.
Started off slow, but by chapter 5, I couldn't put my kindle down, from anticipation. Janelle was very heartless, Myria deserves happiness, I hope Dom is good to her in part 2. Overall this was a tremendous read.
