A long way to the finish...
Ok - I kind of liked parts of this book and its storyline; however, much of the dialogue was stilted and other details either sounded pretentious, forced, or plain unnatural. I also thought there were too many grammatical and syntax errors. Still, one of the books saving graces aside from a few very hot sexual scenes between Jacob and Shasha is how a lot of Sasha's topics of conversation were not just interesting, but we'll researched and INTELLIGENTLY inserted. Her initiation and loss of virginity scene, the results of which were not totally unbelievable,l lost its punch due to awkward dialogue forced in between Sasha's wandering thoughts (doesn't work when it goes on for more than a paragraph or two), insecurity, and hot moves/reactions by our two main characters, as well as a complete lack or trace of any aftermath from the loSs of one's virgin state. None. At. All..
And, lets not forget the absolute venom and plasticity of Piper, who would have sounded more convincing with better editing of her dialogue and content. Nonetheless, the last quarter or so of the book refueled my affection for our poor hero, especially when he came through for Sasha, and raised this rating another star. But yikes! The technical errors -- like, I've never heard of any quarterback with a Jersey number in the 40's. Aren't the. numbers a clue as t o the player's position? **
