What kind of writing experiment addresses the earth, the cosmos and the human condition? What manner of poetry employs rigorous timing, bibliomancy and divination? What rouses ghosts in a warehouse full of goth authors? Read one writer's collection of literary curiosities and find out. Note that this is not a book *about* spirit exploits and ghostcapades.
San Francisco-born and bred Serena Toxicat scratches out dark fiction, lyrics, plays and poetry in English and in French. She sings in a black catwave band called Protea, and her parallel recording projects include Starchasm. A working actor, model, and NLP life coach, Toxicat leads a sketchy life and delights in showing her paintings, doing LGBT and feline stuff, traveling and collecting tattoos. A priestess in the Fellowship of Isis, Serena is a psychic reader and healer. She lived 8 years in Paris and traveled to Egypt, where she recorded vocals in the King's Chamber.
If Charles Gatewood loves it; it behooves us to take note. And he's right. It *is* an intriguing and clever concept for a book, and it most certainly is brilliantly manifested and artfully executed. He states that Toxicat continues to mesmerize, and she certainly does in this short work--which compelled me to keep reading her books.

Graves on January 29, 2017 Format: Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase You Send Forth Constellations: Thirteen Timed Writing Exercises I have read several of Ms. Toxicat's works, and this one does not disappoint. She is sitting in a haunted warehouse with other writers, completing writing exercises based on what they feel and a limited time frame. One minute for the first poem, two minutes for the second poem, three for the third, etc... With that concept in mind, by the third poem, I could read it as if imagining her sitting in the dark and interacting with ghosts - writing limited at first by short time allowances, then growing more intricate as she navigates each conversation in poetry, forming more complicated poems as they go on. In short, the book has many layers that I both appreciate and conceptualize. Re-reading it gives each poem a deeper meaning. I recommend it.
