foster kids, baseball. Bruno had seen it all. Five foster homes in his short life. He hoped he could stay with the Browns. They were cool people. He knew he was too old at 10 to be adopted and find his forever family. But Eva and Martin were so nice—a plus since he had been beaten by a few foster parents. Plus, Martin was helping him with his baseball skills. Everything seemed to be going well until a stranger started lurking around the baseball field.

The Forever Boy is a Fictional Book. This book is of a boy named Bruno who is a foster child of foster parents named Martin and Eve. Martin is 38 years old, and his wife Eve happens to be 35 years old. Bruno is extremely happy to be with this family. Which goes by the Browns. He is so grateful especially after being through four different foster homes. This one has been the best. When the couple argues they figure things out. But, a past foster home Bruno had, things would get physical even to the point where Brune would get hit. Bruno loves baseball. He used to be just okay until Martin and Bruno would throw the ball around in the backyard until he got good. Bruno's dream was to be a pitcher for the New York Yankees. For being ten years old he sure was on the right path because his arm was great. After school sometimes Bruno and a group of friends would get together and play a game of baseball. One day there was a man who stood at the back of the field and watched. No one knew who he was or what he did. The children and Bruno just figured he loved baseball. They continued on with their game. Bruno was a great student. Always participated, did his homework, and knew when it was time to focus and be serious. After Bruno was one of five kids to do his homework a kid named Drake and his friends began to bully Bruno. Bruno's best friend named Tony who was big for his age stood up for Bruno to Drake. Bruno had a conference and didn't think the Browns would want to attend. But, they did. After Bruno's teacher got done talking with an angry parent which happened to be Drake's mother he spoke to the Browns. The Browns were pleased to hear that Bruno was doing great in class. At conferences they spotted the same man from the baseball field. He came up to his parents and talked with them. A few days later that man appeared in Bruno's house with his wife sitting on the couch with the Browns. Bruno soon found out that the wife of the man could not have children of their own. So they were talking about if they could be Bruno's foster parents. The Browns said it was up to Bruno. This made Bruno think the Browns did not want him as a foster child anymore. The Browns then told Bruno that they were going to make him officially their son but this opportunity came where he could live a great wealthy life but they left the choice up to Bruno. Bruno immediately chose the Browns and everyone was happy.
I did enjoy this book. I enjoyed it because it had a good story and a happy ending. Bruno was stressing that the Browns did not want him anymore and that this was their way of getting rid of him. But, he found out they wanted him as a son and not a foster child which warmed his heart. This left them happy and pleased. Not only does he have a forever family but he can continue to play and practice baseball with Martin. I think the author did really well with leaving us with questions in one part but soon answering the questions to help us better understand.
A passage from the book which stood out to me was, “ These nice people have so much. And we weren't sure we had the right. We couldn't let you give this up. We don't want you to be our foster child. We want you for keeps.” This passage especially stood out to me because even though the Browns would be sad to let Bruno go they left him with the choice because they wanted what was best for Bruno and they wanted him to make his own decisions. Even though the other family was wealthy Bruno still chose the Browns because they have done nothing but love and care for him.
I rate this book five stars. I rate it five stars because I feel the book wasn't too short or too long. I feel when I have to read a long book I get bored and tired of it. I feel this book is interesting the whole time. That is one reason why I gave “The Forever Boy” a five star rating.
