Holt feels as though he ruined his parent’s marriage. Because of this guilt he did not go to college and decided to work the bars his family owns.
Izzy has been scared of men for a while now. Since her dad left when she was 7 and her mom started bring home the WRONG KIND OF MEN. Then right before Izzy’s 18th Birthday something terrible happens. This traumatic event leaves Izzy, still living at home, a virgin, and a CAT MOM of 4 little ones @ the age of 26.
Holt has had a crush on Izzy since he was about 13 and Izzy about 18. There is a 5 year gap between them. Holt knew there was no chance with Izzy with him so young. But now that Izzy is 26 and him about 22 there could be a chance.
Izzy has been a dance instructor most of her life. Her mother owns a dance studio and Izzy runs the place.
Izzy feels safe with Holt. Which is strange because she never feels safe with men. Laney wants Izzy to date so she sets her up on some blind dates that don’t go so well. Holt agrees to give her some dating tips (hoping it will spark something between them).
During their lessons, Holt and Izzy learn more about each other. Izzy tries to deny the attraction between them because she is so much older the Holt and thinks this will be a problem. Holt wants Izzy and always has. Holt knows something bad happened to Izzy from her reactions to certain things and knows he has to ease her into the friendship, the physical part of a relationship and the trust aspect as well.
Izzy and Holt eventually figure out they are a pretty good fit and admit their love for one another. They face Izzy’s trauma, Holt’s guilt secret, Izzy’s long lost dad, everyone’s prejudices of their relationship, a new fuzzy family member, family businesses being sold, new business deals being made, a double wedding, and internal struggles.
Izzy and Holt need to be strong enough to survive all of these things.
I like all of the characters in this series thus far. Izzy is kind, caring, shy and sweet. Holt has all of those qualities as well and unlike other male characters I did not see him as a bed-them-and-leave-them-guy. The author hints to that characteristic with Holt but you don’t really see those actions from him. I like Holt a lot because of that. Holt wants Izzy safe, happy, and free of the secrets. He wants to help her with all of that. It is a very beautiful story with these 2 characters.
Holcik torcik. Mimo różnicy wieku (5 lat) to Holcik i Izzy idealnie do siebie pasują. Była to fajna, lekka opowieść, nic wyszukanego, ale fajnie się bawiłam z tą historią.
Ok read with characters from previous books. You don't have to read in order, but it does help you feel better acquainted with everyone, knowing their stories.I This is Holt and Izzy's story. It's about two people who each have baggage preventing them from finding their Hea! The story is ok and so are the H/h. Key word just ok! To me the story seemed flat, the characters boring and I just didn't feel connected to the story or characters to care whose story is next.
It took a bit to finish this one. But It was okay. I bad a few problemen with Izzy telling more than half the book that so meting happend to her, But without really telling it. Maybe it's just me that didn't like this series. It's actualy kind of strange because the stories are like the one's that I would love. But don't let my review fool you this could be your series.
Holt and izzy story was another great read. I didn't think it was goin to turn out the way it did after izzy had had a bad start to her adulthood. can't wait for more xx
"Holt plunks his glass on the counter. His chest pumps as he takes a deep breath. “So—you think he’s the one?” I step in with my knees shaking, my throat dry, gritty as sandpaper. “No, I think you are.”
Here is the 4th book in the 3:AM kisses by Addisson Moore and it just couldn't get any sweeter. This book is an alternating POV about 3:AM kisses hero, Bryson Edward's brother, Holt and Winter Kisses Heroin Laney Sawyer's Sister, Izzy.
This book was such a sweet book. Holt was entirely different in the previous series of this book. I thought he was cocky or more like a Bad Boy type who sleeps with everyone but in this book he doesn't even go out with other girls, he's all about Izzy. Izzy, the girl he's in love with since he was just thirteen. The girl who was five years his senior but hell, age doesn't matter. Don't it?
"If there’s one woman who can take my breath away each and every time, it’s Izzy. Always has been, always will."
Holt is the twin brother of the very much in love Bryson who's doing a double wedding in a few weeks together with his assistant in the bar and her fiance. He's happy for his brother and was never the jealous type but every time his brother and its fiance gets sweet in front of him, he couldn't help but think of what it would be like with Izzy, He hadn't seen her in Five months. Though he was younger than her it was never a block for him. he's in love with her and no one or nothing could change it. The only thing that bugs him is that he thinks he doesn't deserve her, he doesn't deserve to be loved by someone because of the things he had done.
"While Bryson and the rest of our buddies were drooling over the latest Hollywood hot mess, I was busy worshiping at the altar of Elizabeth Sawyer."
Izzy was the same. She thinks no one could love her and that she doesn't deserve/need love in her life for she couldn't leave her mother and no guy in the right mind would want to have a relationship with a girl who refuses to leave her mother who's very much healthy as a middle aged dog. She doesn't want love, she's skittish in front if guys but she couldn't say no to her sister who wants to set her up on a blind date. After a few dates and denial moments she finally had the guts to say yes to Holt who was obviously so in to her but she's not ready to get serious yet. She's twenty-seven years old who hasn't swiped the V card yet and I don't see why she's having too much thoughts with Holt. The truth is, the problem wasn't him. It was her. Izzy and her dead life after a very tragic assault.
"None of it matters. Right now this is about us, Izzy and Holt, two names I’m hoping will one day be synonymous with one another."
I could totally picture out Izzy and Holt, Izzy being a little more mature looking but obviously not obvious when she and Holt are together. I find it cute that there are things Izzy was pretty much holding on tight with like loving his dad and writing to him though she knows he would no longer come back for her. Her love for whiskey was cute as well but her hesitation with Holt was frustrating. Though she constantly flirts with him, she still wasn't sure if it was right due to said age difference.
“There’s something I want to give you,” I whisper as my heart fires in my chest like a gunshot. “What’s that?” He traces my lips examining me like this, naked and splayed beneath him. “All of me.”
The thing I don't get in the society is that why is it that the person who always get judge in a relationship is the girl? There's a problem if she's going out with and older guy and there's a huge problem when she's dating a younger one and a problem if she's dating a guy her age. Maybe its because girls are always the one who's judging, they base everything in what they see but the boys are more like the silent type, the 'I don't care' type. Boys are the ones who chooses who they want to date if others cant accept it, they just don't care.
This book was totally slow, they're taking things slow and I do admire Holt for it. He's treating Izzy so gently like she's going to break and he always thinks of not making a wrong move cause he knows it'll send her running to the hills. I'd give it a 4.5 stars. This book was just so adorable and all.
I didn’t care too much for Izzy and Holt’s story. I don’t know why I struggled with it. Holt seems a little childish. I mean a college aged kid should know better than to think they ruined their parents marriage. They should know enough to know that's not how it goes. I did enjoy seeing Laney’s sister in something. Winter kisses is still one of my favorites in this series. Izzy is a girl whose dad left when she was young so she feels she is not capable of accepting love and she is not worthy of love. She basically has given up on love. In walks Holt. Can he change her mind and make her see she is worth it? This book was a little slow, not the best I had to keep putting it down and coming back to it.
I will continue to say this is definitely one of those guilty pleasure series. You know you shouldn't but you can't stop. In this book we find both Holt and Izzy carrying secrets. Which of course makes things difficult but thankfully everything worked out in the end. The bonus to this book was seeing the happy day for the couple's in books 1&2.
This is my first Addison Moore book and I haven't read the other books in this series.
I really enjoyed reading this and it was quite a quick read. However, I did have a few issues with it that stopped me from rating it higher.
Izzy is a like-able MC and I really felt for her the whole way throughout the story. All she has ever tried to do is abide by her father's last wish - to make sure her mom isn't alone, her sister is looked after, and to write to him. I had a feeling that her father would reappear at some point. One of the sweetest parts of this book were the letters that Izzy wrote to her Dad - these parts were exceptionally well written.
Holt is smoking hot and also a really nice guy. Quite mature for 22, except for his actions at the end of the book which were uncharacteristically immature and also not relevant to the plot. Overall, I really loved him though and one can't help but fall for him, particularly when he is so protective of Izzy.
There was some very witty dialogue between Holt and Izzy, and Izzy and her mom. But in other parts I felt the dialogue was cringe-worthy, cheesy and very unnatural. A little inconsistent.
Izzy's mom and sister were extremely irritating characters and so selfish, particularly Laney. I really didn't like her at all. Holt's dad is a prize jerk, yet in the emotional reveal at the end he seems to have developed into the persona of what a man his age should be - but it wasn't in keeping with how he acted in the rest of the story.
Izzy has been struggling to deal with the aftermath of a hugely traumatic experience and consequently she has shut herself off to love and relationships. I felt the author handled this very well, and I could feel Izzy's pain. However, when Izzy and Holt finally get it on she had no doubts and appeared overly confident for someone who was supposed to be a troubled virgin. In reality, I think she would have been way more apprehensive.
There is a plot-line around the fact that Izzy is 5 years older than Holt and there are a few scenes where she worries about this and one scene where others petty prejudices come to the fore. I'm not sure that it's as current or relevant nowadays but I could relate to Izzy's sentiments as I met my husband when he was 21 and I was 26 and I initially turned him down because I felt he was too young, and I worried what others would think. However, that was sixteen years ago, and I thought it was more acceptable nowadays? So not sure in current times how big of a deal it would actually be.
The ending was too neatly wrapped up to be believable, and I was incredulous for the most part. But it didn't dent my overall enjoyment of this book. I will definitely check out more of this authors work. However, I've no interest in reading about Lainey and Ryder or Cole and Roxy so I will probably check out Bryson and Baya's book.
I'd like to thank Addison Moore for running a free promo on this book which allowed me to pick up a complimentary copy.
This was a bit better than the first one in the series, though it has most of the same problems. Essencially, the characters in these stories are exact copies of one another throughout the books. This one was a little more interesting because it explored something we don't see in the rest of the books: the woman in the romantic relationship (Izzy) is older than the man (Holt). Besides that, there's nothing special about this particular story. It's nice to see some old characters from this series, specially Bryson - Holt's brother - and Lainey - Izzy's sister. It's annoying how every brother in this series is overly protective of their sisters, to the point they don't let them have a normal life. Izzy's story was pretty traumatic and I think some of the people in her life were really insensitive about it, mostly Lainey (because she didn't respect her sister's decision not to date) and Holt (because he wanted to know what had happened to Izzy in her past, sometimes not considering that she might not have wanted to share it with him).
I liked that Izzy's best friend Jemma had a lot of kids and how she was an independent woman who could take care of herself and them. You could really see she didn't need any man in her life.
No way...I got up to 15% of this...so much inane conversation. Most of the time I never knew who was talking, WHY they were poorly introduced ..who is who?? Get to the story!!! Zzzzzzz
By far one of my favorites so far in the series! Izzy and Holt's story was awesome! I loved how it all worked for the both them! Can't wait read Annie's book next!
Izzy has been watching out for her younger sister ever since their dad left. She made him a promise to watch over her sister and mom and she's kept her word, even though it seriously stunted her life. She was once Ms Popular but one day there's a shift and her life is not her own. She makes sure her sister has everything and her mom is never alone but at what cost? Holt has had a crush on Izzy for as long as he can remember. He's 5 years younger than her but is convinced that they are meant to be. He finally gets his chance when he offers to help Izzy learn how to date and to get comfortable with men. His goal is to get her to see beyond the 5 years and figure out that they're perfect together. Both Izzy and Holt have events in their past that have defined them, so much so that they're stalled in life. Can they work them out together? The main problem for me? Not that everything was resolved in the end but that it was done so neatly. I think more discussion, especially between Izzy and her sister, would have gone a long way to explain their dynamic. I'm still in for this series and look forward to knowing more about Annie.
I really really enjoyed this book and the characters in it. I was looking for a book as good and romantic as the last one I had read, and this one was perfect. The burdens both Holt and Izzy carry with them are horrible, and neither of them should've had to deal with wht has happened to them. In my opinion, Izzy has every right to be the way she is, though I was surprised when we finally found out what had happened to her, as I had imagined worse. Holt and Izzy are two broken souls who managed to heal each other, and really, those are some of my favourites. The fact that Izzy is older than Holt made me feel a little uneasy at first, but to be honest, that's all thanks so society. Who cares if she is older than him? And what are 5 lousy years? They love each other, and that's all that matters. I turned out to reakky enjoy the fact that the age gap was the other way around in this book, as I have never read anything like this before. A good, quick read! Continuing the series now with book 4!
I read this book a while ago before I started my blog and I am now slowly going back to review books. I never actually realized how important and useful they are to the authors. On top of that, if I love a book, I want someone else to know how much I enjoyed it. So without going into to details of the book, I am writing to let you know this is an amazing series by Addison Moore. She has without a doubt become one of my favorite authors. She writes multiple genres and always keeps me wanting more. Even when there are currently many books to a series. Each book is tied together by the setting and characters. So even after one story is finished, you will most likely see the main characters again. The best part about this series is they can be read as standalones! That means ... no cliff hangers! Yay! Honestly just go out and purchase the book. It is well worth it and you will thoroughly enjoy it!
Holt has been in love with Izzy Sawyer since he was thirteen, but Izzy is five years older and doesn't date. When her sister tries to fix her up with blind dates (disasters!) Holt steps in to help. Both have secrets, things that they have never shared out of shame, things that have convinced them that they will never get or deserve a one true love. Holt has been a fixture in this series, and it's great to read his story. Izzy has been a background character with the suggestion that she is odd. She isn't. Centre stage, they are wonderful. Together they bring out the best in one another. Plenty of humour again, but a lot more angst in this romance, making it more heartfelt. Terrific.
It could be a cute story of two people healing together, but something did not add up with me. I liked the romance, but some part seems repetitive.. like we've been told in every chapter something horrible happened on the day before turning seventeen... And some other stuff like that made me disconnect from the story for moments. I liked having Baya again, I'm not sure how I'm feeling about Lacey haha.. let's just hope these girls keep up making these guys better... Because they definitely need it....
I have to admit that I probably like this book in the series, the least, so far. It took awhile for me to get into it. It ended up being just okay for me. I really liked the check-in with the other couples. I think that it could be read as a standalone. In fact, if you read this one first; you'd probably like it better than I did. I would recommend that you then go and read the other books in the series, though.
Wow what a fun dance. Honest to goodness the feels in this story are so real it hits you like a ton of bricks. Izzie has been through more then any one young girl should. She has made promises and kept her word no matter the cost and
Izzy and Holt are two lost souls who have been connected for a very long time. They each had their own secrets involving family that was holding them back from living their lives. Once together, they were able to be that motivation for each other to start living and allow love in.
This was such a good book! Izzy and Holt have had crushes on each other for years, but Holt finally takes a chance and talks to Izzy. These two both have some issues that they have kept hidden from everyone. These two both take a leap of faith and trust each other with their secrets. The ending is sweet!
