In the Jericho Brotherhood MC, I’m the man to get the job done. That’s why they call me Rock.
From the first dance, I knew Avery Winston wasn’t a fast f*ck. One taste will never be enough when it comes to her. I crave her sweet skin and sassy mouth.
I screwed up and she sent me packing. With my second chance, I’ll do anything to keep her by my side.
But that ain’t easy. She doesn’t trust my MC, and they are my life. And there’s too much happening right now to show her what being an old lady means. Brothers fighting and escalating violence has me on the edge.
Then Avery’s family situation turns crazy. When chaos breaks out from all sides, I don't know if I can protect the one I love.
From my youngest days, I have attempted to be an author writing stories about cartoon characters, which turned into stories of teens as I became a teen myself, and then romances.
A true-believer in happily ever after, romance has always held the number one place on my book shelf, and now my tablet. I enjoy escaping to new worlds and meeting all kinds of people who live in the imagination of others. Now that I have brought my imaginary world to life, I find I cannot write fast enough to bring those ideas to you.
For me, erotic romance offers a gritty, close intimacy that let's readers explore dark emotions and taboo desires, although today, I love that more and more diverse definitions of happily ever after are accepted in our world. It is the dark intimacy that draws me to read and now write erotic romance,

I enjoyed reading Rock and Avery's story, particularly after the initial back and forth. It starts off with a pretty immature Avery caring entirely too much about what other people think and setting aside her attraction for the sexy Hispanic biker. The first scene was a bit frustrating as it felt very "high school" but I'm really glad I didn't let it deter me from enjoying the rest of the story. As the two settle into their relationship, I like their interactions and the chemistry they exuded. It gets even better when they step out of their comfort zones and explore a deeper part of their base needs. There was clearly some research and definite tact used in the masochism/sadism scenes. The characters experienced growth and gained depth as they accepted one another more fully. There is something I'm not quite understanding about this series: If the brotherhood is so great, why can't woman be alone at any point while at their clubhouse or parties??? I mean, I'm talking a minute alone gets a woman hit on, touched, or made uncomfortable with the potential for more... The reaction that Rock had when it first happens to Avery was totally over the top and not in a way I liked. Aside from the few things I pointed out, I did enjoy getting to know these two and catching up with Dare and Mama. Safety: No OW/OM/Sharing. No rape or abuse.

I really enjoyed Enough the first book in this series but I was completely taken in by book two, Release! The story line was really deep and covered several different but equally intense circumstances that occurred during the course of this read.
Avery is running from her attraction for Rock. You see, he’s a member in The Jericho Brotherhood MC which she wants no part of. She has a problem with men who take charge of everything and always telling women how they should act and what they can and can’t do. This is all due to the fact of the way her own father has acted towards her mother. But Rock slowly shows her that he is not that kind of man.
Rock has had his own family problems, he was never wanted or loved by any of his family. With his dark past comes an addiction, he craves pain. I have to say that normally I don’t get into romances where giving pain to another is a major part of a storyline. The way things were explained and done here brought me into a whole different level and helped me to understand just why some people feel the need for pain.
I LOVED both Avery and Rock. Oh they had their faults neither of them were perfect and they both made some major mistakes. What they shared together and gave to each other was quite LOVELY! I felt their passion loud and clear, these two needed each other and together they set their demons free.
One of the things I truly enjoyed was catching up with a lot of the characters from book one, Enough. Some of them played major roles in Rock's and Avery’s lives. I LOVED how most of the Jericho Brotherhood always had each other’s backs and how they dealt with the bad seeds in the group.
It seemed like practically the whole town was against the Jericho Brotherhood and it took some drastic measures to change their tune. This part does not happen until the end and it gave me great joy that things were finally all squared away.
Overall,Release was an AMAZING read for me. Now I find myself wanting to know whose story will be next and when will I be able to get my hands on a copy?
I have just one more thing left to say, WELL DONE JADE!
*I received an ARC from the author and Carina Press via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.*
I'm kind of torn with this book. I did enjoy it and it was the type of book that had me staying up way too late to finish, yet there were moments that I was getting very frustrated with it. Mostly in the beginning is where my problems were, and with Avery. I found her a little stuck up and immature, especially in the start of the story. Her character grew throughout the book and by the end I found myself liking her more, but I just couldn't get over my initial judgment of her.
Rock's backstory added a lot to the story, I thought, and it broke my heart to learn about his past. I really liked him and how he grew from a hard life and made a better one for himself. His interactions with Avery also kept me very interesting and I loved the back and forth type of relationship they had.
Bottom line, this is turning out to be a great series and I can't wait for more from this author. I had my issues with the heroine but I still enjoyed the reading experience and overall enjoyed the book.

This is a sweet romance with a kinky side about a hot, tattooing biker with a need for pain and his sweet girl finding it difficult to become his property when she doesn’t have a good history with her abusive father. Will Avery’s love for Rock be strong enough to become a part of the MC. Can she handle his need for pain?
I prefer my MC books a little bit darker and hotter but this still was a wonderful well written read. What I missed was an epilogue. The story ends rather abrupt. What happened to her father? I hope we’ll read more about Rock and his Almita in the next book. Deny, Book 3 of the Jericho Brotherhood is planned for December 2016. Looking forward to this one. Will it be Jericho’s book? Or Marc?
Release was the second book in the Jericho Brotherhood series by Jade Chandler.
It was a story of second chances while simultaneously working through the MC challenges within the Jericho Brotherhood. I enjoyed the portion of the book when Rock and Avery fully accepted each other and a forever love. Rock and Avery then gelled and it became a sweet story.
Rock and Avery both had family, acceptance and abandonment issues that each had to work through. I liked parts of it but also had a hard time keeping up with some of the Brotherhood storyline. Hopefully we'll have more filled in as the series progresses.
Additionally, there was an interesting BDSM perspective. I found it intriguing but it's only recommended for those that enjoy reading BDSM combined with pain.
All in all, it was enjoyable and entertaining. It's not my typical MC book, but enjoyable none the less. I'm looking forward to future stories, such as Mark and Zero's. In the meantime, we finally have Jericho and Mar's story next in Deny.
While with the h, the H constantly thinks about “needing a session with Marr” who is a domme He eventually schedules a session with this Marr, tells the h he has “personal business” to attend to. He was planning on going to a sex club to be whipped. While in a relationship. Without telling the h. I mean, the h asked to tag along when he said he had somewhere to be and was ok with it, so more power to her, but to me that was cheating, or intent to cheat. He undresses when he’s whipped and calls Marr “mistress”…. They then proceed to fuck while he’s hit by the mistress Like… that’s just not for me.

Having not read anything by this author I had no clue what to expect and the blurb although is decently descriptive it's not nearly enough for you to have a clue what your letting yourself in for. I choose this out of mere curiosity not because the the blurb caught my eye or because I know this author, I don't. But I set my self up for hell of a ride becaus this book is gosh darn fantastic.
This authors writting is super unique and very authentic. I haven't read anything like this even though Iv read tonnes of MC stories.
I absolutely adored rocks characters but he's extremely closed off about himself until near the end of the story. He was so different to what you'd think a biker should be. Extremely loving and attentive towards Avery he somehow managed than line of tough alpha badass man with the sweet loyal caring and oh so loving boyfriend with great ease. His character was very hard to crack and aside from not being afraid of his emotions towards Avery he shared little about himself and passed life. He has some acquired tastes that would be classed as bdsm and not for the faint hearted but and there is a big but here. He a masochist who's needs pains but as of late doesn't have pain with sex nor does he sleep with his dominant who delivers his punishemnts. Until Avery or shall I say until it comes out that he enjoys pain and she learns to help him with this. But he is very ashamed of why he needs pain and you don't find out the reasons for this until near the end of the story and let me tell you its heart breaking and equally enraging. His life has not been an easy one but being apart of the brotherhood gives him the family and stability he's longed for and needs.
Avery is also a fantasic heroine and definitely someone you'd want as your friend. Her family background is not great and strained to say the least which has caused her some issues in trust and acceptance in herself because her father is a total asshole who led her to believe she was useless and never good enough. At first reading this story Avery comes across as very young minded and closed off to anything that's different because of her reaction to rocks MC. As you read on and start to pull back layers of her personality you learn her reaction to them is out of fear and holding a grudge rather than just because there different to the average person in lifestyle choices. Through something that happened previously that she was involved in unintentionally she can't help but think negatively of them because of how they acted. Once she has a heart to heart with Lila she realises she jumped to conclusions and needs to forgive and forget which she does. Now things aren't always smooth sailing from that point with regards to the MC but by the end they are on big disfunctional happy family. Her character as a whole was just great. She wasn't the crazy loud mouth lady but she wasn't a mouse either. She's strong in her own right and never once judged Anyone.. accepting them flaws and all. Her reaction to finding out rock enjoyed pain was beautifully understanding even though she didn't know his reasons she was willing to learn for him because she loved him for who he was qwerks an all! That right there shows you strength in character because most would at least have a freak out first.
Some not all of the side characters are something to be desired but by the end most end up winning you over. I'm very curious about Jericho his character at first I very much dislike but by the end wanted more of him.
The best thing about this story other than the romance is the growth of the characters. They all make mistakes but most learn and change throughout the story constantly evolving. The MC was very much in the old time with their regards towards women but by the end of the story you see that changes are being made and actions are taking place to change the old and bring in the new. That I absolutely love.
I love this story. It's not perfect by any means but it feels real and sucks you into their world making you want to be apart of it it. It makes you feel every emotion from love to hate. It's has a little of everything to keep everyone happy.
My only disappointment about this story was the ending for me was so abrupt and left me with some unanswered questions. However there could be a reason for that.. like some involvement in the next book of the series. So until I read that I'll hold my thoughts.
Like I said at the beginning. I haven't read anything from this author before but I'll be sure to keep an eye out in the future because I love her writing, I loved this book and I want more.
This ARC was kindly provided by netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I liked this book. It kept it kinda light and really focused on the releationship between the two main characters Rock and Avery. The first book in the series had me up and down too much, but this one was great. This one did not turn into a sex fest either.
Avery is an indepdant woman trying to find her nitch in this world. The author brings out great points about living in a small town with small minded opinionated people. You are judged constantly and what people think they see isn't always how it is. Avery finds her nitch in Rock who seems to free her from the small mindedness and just be her. Avery is very open minded and once she loves you she wants to make you as happy as you have made her. She really goes out on a limb for Rock and over comes her fears to help him. I don't understand Rock's hang ups about pain... sooo not my thing... but as Avery said it isn't for us to understand it is just good to accept the person that you love for who they are. I am glad she comes to accept the kindness of others and really belong and feel loved for who she is. She was one TOUGH cookie at the end!
Rock is a complicated guy with a backstory that wasn't pleasent. It is a shame that your family can hurt you so much when they are the people that should love you the most. I like that he just set his mind on Avery and he was going to make sure she was always his. He was not the jerk he was in the first book and actually his "brothers" sorta redeemed themselves from the first book. Rock has a big heart with some strange issues, but he stepped to the plate to help Avery and even put all his beliefs on the line for his love.
Good read... hot sex... some pain things so if you don't like it don't read it.
Received an ARC from the publisher through NetGalley for a honest review.
I know that some people like to compare books within a series. I don't like doing that, nor would I be able to, considering how different this one felt for me. Not, different in a "I'm not sure if I liked it" way, different in a "this is so flippin' cool" way. Let me explain...
Now that we know that Lila, aka Big Mama is with Dare and living the biker life, we know a little more about the club, what they do and what they stand for. Remember when Avery (the girl who owns the clothing shop across from Marked Men) hooked up with Rock at the bar? Well things were good between them until she found out that Rock had his hands in hurting Lila that day in the night club/bar. So now everything is left in this limbo between Avery and Rock. Avery doesn't trust Rock and absolutely doesn't trust the club and the Brotherhood, yet is still attracted to him in a big way. So after having a conversation with Lila, Avery realizes that life is too short and maybe, just maybe, she's been judging things a little too harshly. So she gives in and allows herself to feel for Rock again. And that's when this story REALLY takes off.
You see, Avery has this issue with pain. It's taken her a very long time just to get inked. So when one of Rock's secrets comes to light, she's put in a very interesting and erotic situation that has her really looking at herself and Rock in a different light. SIDE NOTE: I LOVED THIS SCENE!!!!! Everything about it was beautiful and VERY well explained/done. Ok, back to the good stuff. Drama goes down in Avery's family that literally leaves her breathless, confused and trying to find her way....again. But Rock is so solid, he's the only family she needs...period. But the issue with the Avery trusting the club is still an issue, and a very big one.
This book is about so much. Finding ones self, helping those who matter in your life and most importantly acceptance. Acceptance in any and everything. The chemistry between the two is crazy beautiful, but the love they feel for each other is off the charts.
Another side note....I can't believe that this is only the second book written by this author. No really. My mind is blown. I've read two books within the same series and felt like I got two completely different, yet similar (character intertwining) stories. Well done Jade. Well done!
*I received this book from the Jeep Diva in exchange for my honest opinion.
I really enjoyed 'Enough', the first book in this series which was about Lila and Dare. This one was ok but I struggled to like either main character at times. By the end I liked them both but it felt like a bit of a journey to get there.
Rock seemed to go from being sweet, joking and light hearted to being controlling and not in the way I'm used to with Biker characters. For example, at 34% Avery does something that angers him because she put herself in danger. I felt like he totally overreacted and he spoke to her like a complete ass. Then Avery responded in a really meek way. Where was my feisty , ballsy heroine???
Also, Lila seemed like an entirely different character in this book. Really. Like a whole new person and she didn't appeal to me much at times.
Overall, the story was good . There is a lot of intense sex in this book and I liked the way it demonstrated the growing closeness, trust and love between Avery and Rock. It was touching how they adored each other and always strived to put each other first. Rock really does grow some in this story.
Lots happening in the club in the background, so the next book should prove very interesting.
I love the Jericho Brotherhood MC men with their wild ways and the women they bring into the MC. It’s now Rock’s turn and he has an addiction…no, not drugs but pain. Growing up the way he did it is no wonder that he gets turned on by pain and has to use one of the MC’s businesses, Bound, in order to feel true release. Avery and Rock had history but that history became tainted with what Rock and the Brotherhood had done to her best friend Lila. Rock would do anything to get with Avery again but she thinks she can fight off the feelings that she has for Rock…until she can’t any longer.
Avery is a business woman in a small town who don’t like the bikers but she is a free spirit who loves to make those around her laugh and feel good. She doesn’t understand the town peoples’ feelings for the bikers and she’s witnessed firsthand how her friends, included, ostracize the bikers and anyone involved with them. This doesn’t stop this feisty woman and if it means losing her friends she’s had since school, then they weren’t worth having as friends. Avery, like Rock, had not had a great childhood and even with Avery opening and running a successful clothing business in town, she cannot get her father’s approval.
Avery has worked hard for her business and it means the world to her. She’s tired of being dominated by men which her father had seated deep within her. That’s her big issues with the MC; she will not be dominated by a man ever again. It takes a bit for Rock to show her that is not what he wants but that does not mean that he will leave the Brotherhood or their ways. He does everything in his power to show her he can be trusted to look out for her best interests even if he is a table member of the MC and women have a place in the MC lifestyle.
With all of this said big things are happening internally with the MC and things aren’t safe for anyone so how is Rock going to keep Avery safe from everyone outside and now even inside the club that she doesn’t trust? Will Avery be willing to put her business and her personal freedom in jeopardy to hook up with her hot biker or will this all be too much for the strong, independent woman she has become? Even though Rock and Avery have extremely wild times in bed will Avery be able to take on her sexy biker’s kinks when it comes right down to it or will she then realize that someone with these issues will leave her with nothing but pain in the end? I definitely recommend this hot biker read along with the first book in this series, Enough and I can’t wait for the next one to come out. This is a great read for any biker fans.
This book was provided as an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.
I received a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads 3.5 stars Second book in the Jericho Brotherhood series. While I'm really enjoying the mix of MC & BDSM genres this book fell just a bit flat for me. I really liked the first book with Dare & Red and had high hopes (maybe too high?) for this next installment. I had trouble connecting to Rock and Avery for the first half of the story. Rock is a masochist but also has dominant traits. Avery has never had anything to do with BDSM or the MC club, The Brotherhood. She grew up on the farm and while she pushed her father's boundaries every chance she got, she was a good girl who liked to please. The town is split and Avery is in the middle with her eclectic "biker babe" store but her close ties to the rest of the townies who despise the club. She has to choose between Rock and the MC and her family. Rock has to come clean about his need for pain and hopes Avery can still love him after she knows what he needs. The story does pick up quite a bit more than midway through and I found myself more interested in the couple. Avery's dad and one of the MC's members gone rogue give us a nice bit of strife that spices up the story. Avery takes easily to the Domme role and her and Rock almost get too sugary sweet in love. I hope the next book is about Zero as I'm really enjoying his character.
Dark, twisted, kinky and also fun – this is the story of Rock Juarez and Avery Winston. Rock is a tattoo artist at Marked Man and a member of the Jericho Brotherhood. Avery owns the shop, Black Label. They were together for a bit then broke up but have been missing one another for the two months they have been apart. The question is whether or not they can find a way to be together again that will work for both of them. Are Avery’s beliefs about the motorcycle club and what it would mean to be part of it true or erroneous and can she be with Rock as she desires to be without losing herself? As Rock and Avery spend time together, learn more about one another, begin to grow as individuals and as a couple, deal with family and others they eventually do find a way to move forward that works for the two of them. What will happen to the Jericho Motorcycle Club is still to be learned in future books of the series AND I am wondering if Marr, the Domme, might just end up with one of the biker brotherhood. It will be fun finding out who has their story told next when the book #3 is released.
Thank you to NetGalley and Carina Press for the copy of this book. This is my honest review.
After the role hero had in hurting her friend in the previous book, there are some trust issues with the club from the heroine's perspective. They both come from two different worlds and she needs to figure out how to fit into his, love the man. love the club. She has to learn to love the club because she loves him and that he is who he is. They have a few bumps , but she finds her way. They help each other be the best that they were meant to be.She's a good switch, because she is like a chameleon who is the person that each person in her life needs because she can read them. I liked the connection these two had and how they put each other first. They instinctively knew what the other one needed, because they knew each other so well. This story had an interestingly new side to BDSM then I have seen in other books out there. I cannot wait to read the next guy who finds his happy ending. ARC received from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Jade Chandler is becoming one of my favorite authors in MC romance! After reading and loving Enough, Jericho Brotherhood #1, I knew I was in for a treat!
This story features Rock and Avery. It was a sweet story but also had a bit of kink in it, which made it really spicy! There is a lot of angst and I felt sorry for Avery and the past abuse from her father. Rock and Avery's chemistry is explosive so keep a fire extinguisher handy!
I am not going to recap the whole story, read the reviews and you will realize that this is a special book! It is a standalone but you will love it so much more by reading Enough, book 1!
✨✨✨✨✨ I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book ✨✨✨✨✨
Great addition to this MC series. Lots of drama and suspense. I liked the characters and the sex is steamy. I liked Rock, such a big heart. The story held my interest throughout, exciting and entertaining. A good read.
I just have to say oh my goodness how I love this series!!! I had read enough and loved Dare. There was so much intensity in that book. This brotherhood is exactly what it is, a family what they do for each other shows through during the worst and best of times. Although everyone seems to have some type of troubled life they all seem to be able to find each other within the brotherhood. I loved seeing the characters from the first book. What has been happening and how they have grown from the first book. I just want to say Dare is not what I expected, he was so much more. When you come from two different worlds it can be hard. Making changes in you life are never easy but when you have to because you want to be with someone, well you will do everything possible to find a way. Something always seems to get in the way though, and makes you think is it really worth it? So when your past is holding you back are you going to fight your way through it or will you walk away.
Avery was such a strong character. She had a lot of daddy issues which is nothing to joke about. So she is not trying to be controlled by one certain biker. As this story moves on you see how Avery develops into this woman that not only needs Dare, but moves on from a past that was making her hide from her future. Avery shows you that you can be a strong woman and still be with a strong man. Dare, what can I say hes one of those bikers that you feel for all the way through this book. He felt he was never good enough, never stands a chance with the woman he wants and he doesn't know what he can do. Dare fits so well into this brotherhood and all he is looking for is to fit in with Avery. It's not going to be easy, two broken people with a past that shows its ugly head as they try to move forward, will they try to make it work, or will the past rule their lives. These two being broken and trying to mend their life is not an easy road. They will fail, they will succeed, and they will figure out what is actually best for them. These characters are so well developed that you want to see more of them, you want to see them strive and you need more from all the characters in the book.
I am so happy that this author was one of the ones that I get to review. Her books show so much depth and keep you wanting more to the very end. I can't wait to read more from her because not only do you get attached to the books she writes, you will get attached to the way she writes. I love biker books, but this one is more, the family that is built from this series will move you, and that is all you can ask when an author writes.
Release is the second book in the Jericho Brotherhood series, the author's second novel and a very well-written one it is. While I didn't love it as much as I enjoyed Enough, the 5-star first novel in the series, I still rate this one a 4.5 star read. If you've not read the first novel in the series, I'd suggest it, because without a prologue, it will be hard to understand the relationships between the characters who are all introduced very early in the novel. I'd also like to suggest to the author that such a prologue be offered in upcoming installments.
This is story of Avery and Rock. Rock is a half Native American, half Hispanic tattoo artist, a loyal member of the Jericho Brotherhood, and we're told from the very beginning that he's into pain--and he's isn't joking. If you can't handle the "M" part of BDSM, this is not the novel for you. I've read a lot of erotica over the years, but this is the first novel I've read that takes a serious look at masochism, and it isn't for the faint of heart or readers under 18 years of age.
Avery is twenty-four, and comes from a seriously dysfunctional family. She's sharing a house with her best friend, Glory, and she's the proud owner of her own business, Black Label, a somewhat kinky boutique in the small town of Barden. It's located directly across the street from Marked Man, the Brotherhood-owned tattoo parlor where Rock plies his art. Avery and Rock were an item in Enough, but their relationship ended and Avery really has no interest in getting involved with a member of the Jericho Brotherhood MC, no matter how attracted to him she is. Rock's been trying to get them back together ever since he had a hand in betraying one of Avery's best friends, Lila, who is now the old lady of Dare, another member of the Brotherhood.
While Avery is attracted to the feel of family shared by members of the Brotherhood, she's angry and hurt because it seems that she's losing her friends to the MC. She also knows that should she hook up with one of the Brotherhood, her family, especially her abusive father, would disown her, and she's very close to her brother, Chet, and doesn't want to lose him either. But Avery has finally decided that she wants a tattoo of her store logo, and she wants Rock to be the one who inks her. She's afraid of the pain, but the attraction between these two sizzles, and so begins an on again, off again relationship between these two troubled characters and it's at this point that the novel really takes off.
Rock too has his doubts, but not about his attraction to Avery. He worries that she won't understand or accept his addiction to and need for pain, so he keeps it a secet. Yet although his kink is hard to understand, he's an amazingly attractive character, both loving, protective (sometimes too much so) and supportive, and at no time do you ever doubt his sincerity or his love for Avery.
In addition, there are rivalries both in and outside the MC, members who aren't pulling their weight, betrayals large and small, and lots of conflict and drama, all of which makes this one very difficult book to put down. Told in alternating narration, these are characters you come to care about and root for, and I'm very much looking forward to the next book in this series.
I received a copy in return for an honest review by Netgalley. This was a bit darker than I usually read, it has elements of kink that is a bit more than what I like to read. Having said that I did enjoy the book overall, well written with good character building. Part of a series, I have started back to front and will be grabbing the first book in the series to read as soon as possible. I would strongly suggest reading book 1 first as it has the beginnings of the overall story that is background to Rock and Avery's. As an MC book this is one is right up my alley and I look forward to reading more of the Jericho Brotherhood MC boys.
Jericho Brotherhood MC member Rock Juarez and his on again/off again woman Avery Winston (Avery Townsend) have been off for awhile, but if Rock has his way, Avery will be his again. Avery hates the Brotherhood, doesn't trust them, but she can't seem to stay away from the sexiest man she's ever met. Tattoo artist Rock is a pain slut, a fact that he's terrified to let his woman in on. But it's definitely not something he can hide, so it's a matter of whether or not Avery can accept all his kinks.
Avery not only accepts Rock and all his freaky, kinky baggage, she revels in it. But just as the two seem to really get started, threats from Avery's family and Rock's MC crew start throwing wrenches into their happily ever after. Can these two weather the storm or are they doomed to be apart?
RELEASE is the second book in the Jericho Brotherhood series, and while it started off OK, Ms. Chandler definitely hit the sophomore slump the more the book went on. I also recommend reading this one after the first novel in the series, as there are many many parts that refer to that book. I'm not sure what it was about RELEASE that frustrated me, but I think it was the excess, mundane dialogue between Rock and Avery. The book could've been tightened up by a lot and not have missed anything relevant. There was a lot of downtime in between anything good, and even the sex became redundant to the point where Ms. Chandler stopped writing about it and skipped over it, saving me the trouble of doing just that. And the disagreement between Avery and Rock…it was beyond ridiculous.
Despite the subtitle, RELEASE was in no way dark, though it was erotic, especially with Rock's need for pain and Avery's desire to give it to him. The writing became contrived and super cheesy however. There was also a ton of editing snafus in RELEASE (including a spontaneous name change for Avery...it's Winston in blurbs but Townsend in the story). I would still read more in this series, but this one was a definite disappointment since the first book was so terrific.
Bottom Line: Not the worst MC book out there, but it definitely wasn't the best.
Release is the second book in the Jericho Brotherhood series, and it was a great read. This is the first book I've read from this series and author, and I was not disappointed. It had an suspenseful storyline, complex characters, mystery, smokin' hot sex with some BDSM elements involved, angst, intense situations, as well as intriguing twists that'll have you turning the pages faster just to see what happens next. This was a great story, and I can't wait for more from this series.
This story started off steady, but once it picked up, it was non-stop action and suspense till the end. I wish that I had read book #1 prior to reading this, because the situation between Dare and Lila was mentioned several times throughout this book, but it never told the whole story, which was frustrating. Also, I was confused throughout most of this book about who was who regarding the MC. It took over half of the book before anything was said about who held what positions in the club, and that included Rock, the main character of this book.
I had a hard time connecting with Avery throughout most of the story. She seemed a bit childish and flighty for more than half of the story, but eventually seemed like she got better the longer that she and Rock were together. I really liked Rock, how he was strong, loyal, and not afraid to go after what he wanted. He had a huge heart, took care of those who he cared for, and was always willing to help anyone in need.
I really enjoyed this story, and wished that I would've read book #1 prior to this so I could've understood more of what was going on. It isn't completely necessary to read it to understand most of this book. However, to get the whole story of what happened between the club, Rock, Avery, Dare & Lila (which is one of the main reasons why Avery refused to give Rock a second chance), you'll have to. I can't wait to read the next book in this series. I definitely recommend this book.
I received an arc from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest and unbiased review.
I liked #2 more than the first book. Release is a very erotic book, and Rock is a very intense guy with issues that have to be felt with. Avery doesn't want to get involved with the club, but she has very strong feelings for Rock, who is a life member, so she can't get away from it if she wants him, but she is scared of losing her independence by someone's property. I liked the characters Avery and Rock, she had a lot of determination and Rock tried to be understanding. A great story. Very fast paced and sexy, there's some erotica also. It will draw you in.
Warning...you're going to need to read the first book in this series before reading this one. Without reading book 1 you will have a difficult time understanding the connection between Rock and Avery. Even though I had read it (awhile ago), I wish the author would have given us a reminder of what had happened that night.
But, even without that this book was nothing short of amazing! I loved Avery's character; she was strong, yet sensitive and caring about others. I appreciated the turmoil her relationship with Rock caused with her family; all too often this is overlooked by authors of MC books.
And Rock's story...holy sh*t! I didn't see his back story coming at all!
Just started book #3 and can't put it down! Dying to know more about Jericho!
This was a very good read and I'm glad I found another series to feed my sudden MC addiction! This is the second in the series but I haven't read the first one - yet - and had no problem following along. The characters are well developed and the story moves along at a great pace. There are times, especially in the beginning, that Avery was a little immature and somewhat annoying but she eventually grew on me. Loved Rock all the way through. Even though Rock knows Avery doesn't want anything to do with his MC he doesn't give up on her. You have to love that in a man. He shows her a side of him she didn't know about and all her defenses seem to melt away.
You want to read Avery and Rock's story. I highly recommend it.
This picks up pretty much at the end of the last book. So, if you haven't read Enough then I would highly recommend to do so. I just loved every little bit of Rock. Usually, it's the woman who is seeking the relationship, but this time it seemed as if Rock was more for it than Avery. I liked the sass of Avery. She didn't seem as if she fit with Rock, but I soon got caught up in their story and decided I loved them together.
This was my first read from Jade Chandler. Even though I didnt read the first book in this series I dont think that it took much away from the story. I didnt feel like I was lost and not know what was going on. This was a nice smooth read that was so sweet. Most MC's I have read have been dark and heavy so it was nice to be able to sit back and get into this without it being as dark as what some of them have been.
I loved Rock and Avery, Avery that girl was a goof, "she walked into the living room, stopped, staring down at me. “You’re a beast, and you’re mine.” She pounced on me. “I’m going to ride the beast.” I loved this book, Rock was so attentive to his girl, and Avery was perfect for him.
Avery and Rock has a thing but she tried to stay away because she didn't like The Brotherhood...Avery reconnected and can't let go...She has always hated pain but let's Rock tattoo her shop logo... Avery is disowned by her parents as they hate The Brotherhood...Avery can't leave Rock...
