In het eerste boek, Slow Burn, gaat het om Nick en Carly. Nick is net verhuisd naar het plaatsje Holiday Cove waar Carly haar koffieshop heeft. Deze zomer heeft ze eigenlijk geen tijd voor Nick, vanwege dat ze 7 dagen in de week werkt en net als vorige zomer voor 3 maanden voor haar veel jongere zusje Alesha moet zorgen. Alesha is iemand die het gevaar op zoekt.
Het andere boek On the run zijn eigenlijk 3 delen die samen het boek vormen en gelukkig allemaal aanwezig zijn, want het is spannend genoeg om te willen weten hoe het verder gaat en afloopt. Melissa haar huwelijk is al voorbij, maar als ze wil scheiden hoort ze dat haar man haar dood wil. Ze gaat met zoon Jackson op de vlucht en wordt daarbij beschermd door Chase.
Beide boeken zijn verschillend qua sfeer, spanning en setting. Overeenkomst is dat een voormalige militair de mannelijke hoofdrol speelt in de boeken.

Really enjoyable collection of stories
I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this author's style of writing, being an author I had not read anything by until now. The romance was off the scales and kept me wanting to read more. there was never a dull moment. I could definitely read this again curled up in my chair with a cuppa tea.

AWESOME read
I read the first series and WAS hooked and was very glad to get the second series free I enjoyed ALL the suspense AN story plot . You choose great characters and the ending was AWESOME. YOUR a terrific author . Can't wait to READ more of your books

The Elite - parts six through nine
As with all of KB 's books these were right up at the top. Looking forward to reading more of the series if I haven't already. Highly recommend reading.

Slow Burn picks up the storyline six months after Player ends. Carly Roberts, owner of The Siren coffee shop, has gotten word her seventeen year old sister, Alesha, will be spending the summer with her again while their parents are in Greece. The prior summer didn't go well and Carly is afraid this summer will be no different. Nick Adams is a former Marine who has taken a job as a mechanic at the Rosen Air Museum for Aaron "Player" Rosen. After stopping in at The Siren for coffee and pastries, he's hooked.
On the Run is another follow-up to Player, but overlaps its timeline. Melissa O'Keefe is in the process of filing for divorce from her abusive husband, Henry, when she overhears his end of a phone call where he talks about having her killed. Her attorney helps her make arrangements to go into hiding with her five-year-old son, Jackson, and for his brother Chase, a former SEAL, to provide protection for them.
This is an entertaining set and I enjoyed the follow-up to Player in On the Run.

Arc review for honest review. what a great story chase ,Melissa and her son Jackson are on the run from her ex husband chase is there to protect them but through all the adventures chase and Melissa fall in love and this story will hold your attention.
