I struggled a bit with rating/reviewing this book. I really loved 90% of this book but I really did not like the turn this took at the 80% mark. In the scheme of things, it wasn't anything major. No cheating. No violence towards the heroine but ....and here is a spoiler, so don't read any further if you prefer not to know.... but something happened and the Hero, his friends and even the heroines best friend turned on her. I get the disappointment they would have felt for what she did, but the heroine had some major trauma happen in her life and they all knew she struggled with risk. Honestly, I just really hate when a heroine is treated unfairly and yes they all make up in the end and they all feel bad for not seeing her side of it, but it burst my happy bubble that I was in for most of this book. When I finished reading, I actually felt disappointment but then I sat on this for a few days and decided to not let 10% of the book ruin the 90% I truly loved and enjoyed.

Another amazing book by Ahren Sanders. What I love most about her books are her heroes and Finn is no exception. He is strong, protective, bossy, sexy and sweet. Highly recommend.

YES, FINALLY I CANNOT WAIT TO READ FINN'S STORY!!!!updated - √read and loved√

I have been waiting for Finn's story since I read Surrendering in November 2013! Yes I have been patiently waiting for Finn for over 2 years, I loved the series starting with Raven's story in both Surrendering and Surviving and then Robbie's story in Salvation but Finn, Finn was the story I was waiting for and I wasn't disappointed at all! I LOVE FINN and Presley together. What a crazy love affair these two have had. I think I went through a box of tissues reading this book, Ahren Sanders has a way with pulling at my heartstrings for sure, but she out did herself with this book. Finn and Presley's story was heartbreaking in so many ways but so beautifully put together it was a soul crusher.

They meet by chance in the park but when they meet again at the funeral of Presley's brother a Marine that Finn and the crew knew from their time overseas you know that fate was stepping in and pushing these two together.
Presley's personality is pure sweetness, she would do anything for her family which included moving closer to her brother so she can help him raise his sweet little girl, but when her brother dies she takes her sweetness to a whole new level. Not only does she help raise her niece but she puts her life on hold in order to do it. Have you ever had a dream or a premonition about something that is going to happen but when it actually does you don't believe it to be true? Well that is what happens with Presley, she had a dream of her brother telling her that he was sending someone to her and he would take care of her forever if she just let him.

I must say that I was taken back by Raven in this story. Finn loved Raven for so long but she loved Declan, a crazy love triangle that played out in Surrendering and Surviving, so why couldn't she be happy that Finn is finally finding his happily ever after? Jealous much? According to Raven she has good reason to act like a Biotch but I didn't like it at all but I guess it added the angst in the storyline because no one's life is all peaches and cream...right?

Finn's story was a great addition to the Surrendering Series and I cannot wait until the next book comes out.

5 Stars!

I really like Ahren Sanders. I haven't read every book she has written but the few I have have been brilliant and nothing short of amazing. This book, Finn is probably the best book she has written to date. This book will speak directly to your heart and soul. I devoured this book twice before finally writing this review... yeah it was that good.

I loved Finn. Top ten read of 2016... no doubt, no questions asked. Ahren Sanders gives her readers a book that is deep, emotional and intense while also being passionate, sexy, and provocative. Intriguing and captivating, this book will suck you in from page one with action and draws you in deeper with a storyline full of love and happy endings.

This is Finn and Presley's story. Finn is a veteran now turned security specialist. He has a close circle of friends and a loving family. The "disease" hasn't gotten him yet... well not until Presley runs into his life. From the moment he sees her, he knows she is his one. He will stop at nothing to make her his. Conquering her demons is just step one.

Presley is a sweet girl. Family oriented and always living on the safe side of life, she is about to have her world rocked when she meets Finn. She is going to have to take a chance... a leap of faith on him because he is everything she has avoided. Can she face her demons and give Finn a chance? Love isn't easy but it's worth fighting for.

I tell you now.. I fell for Finn hard and fast. I loved him in Robbie's book and this cemented that for me. He was so sweet and gentle yet strong and super protective. And Presley.. total girl crush. I admired her big time because she really showed strength when she could have fallen apart. It certainly wasn't easy for these two but all worth it in the end.

I highly recommend this book.

*minor spoiler*

I liked Finn (except when he was being an overbearing, controlling asshat - thankfully this was kept to a minimum), but wasn't always too keen on Presley. Her decisions and reservations are just tiring after about the seventeenth time we hear about them.

Loved the secondary characters and that juicy drama in the middle was spectacular. Actually my favourite part of the book because at least something was happening. This is definitely too long though. Ending/huge conflict was predictable. I was thrilled when it was Presley who messed up and had to get Finn back, so why does it end up with him apologizing over and over? Calm down sir, you're good.

Writing wise, um.... Cheesy. No one speaks like this. At times it was fine, others I was getting a head ache from rolling my eyes so much. And if guys actually act like this (not only just one but a group of friends --- basically think of the cutest, cheesiest, romantic and alpha all rolled into one) then clearly I'm living in the wrong place. Every guy in the group acted the same though, so hardly distinguishable.

This was a decent story even though I spent most of it annoyed with or rolling my eyes at the heroine. Doubt I'd get to the others in the series though.

I liked this one. It was a light read. A dash of drama but not in a way that makes you miserable. And Finn is hottt! So yeah, you know about my priorities. ;)

OK... despite the schmaltzy blurb that says absolutely nothing about the book, I listened to this on audio... the readers, Rob Howard and Desiree Fultz, do a good job.
Finn and Presley...
The first half is pretty slow and boring. One of those stories where everyone is awesome and life is great. Boy meets girl and is flabbergasted by her perfection. It's cute. Halfway through there's a bit of drama from his childhood friend that was pretty delicious. Then nothing much, like a slow American soap opera, but cuter. The men tend to get a wee bit flowery in their dialogue here and there.
The real meat of the story is that Presley has been emotionally damaged by the death of first her mother and then her brother. While Finn's work is dangerous, challenging her peace of mind. So all the foreshadowing will lead where you think it does, but the resolution was more meaningful than I was expecting.
Anyways, it makes a good audio book because the angst is pretty low.

41/2 Stars I can't give it 5 stars but only because The first book in the series will always be my all time favorite!

“Finn” is a standalone book but we first met Finn is the awesome Surrender series! To really enjoy “Finn” to its fullest I would read the Surrender series first.
Finn is a part of a group of guys that grew up together and are very close. He was a marine and had a tough experience while serving in Iraq. He now works for a private security firm owned by one of his friend’s father. They are the best in the business. Well trained to handle the most dangerous of situations. This of course puts his life at risk.
Presley has her own history of sacrifice. Her mother died while she was young so she became the woman of the house at a young age. After college she moves back home to help take care of her brother’s toddler after his wife had left them both high and dry. Presley always puts others needs above her own. But Presley also plays life safe. She dates boring guys. She lives a boring life despite her best friend trying to get her to let loose and enjoy herself. She’s afraid of loss and doesn’t want to risk her heart to anyone who might be in harm’s way.
When Presley and Finn meet sparks fly. For the first time Presley is opening her heart to someone who isn’t the safe choice. But Presley also doesn’t know just how dangerous Finn’s job is.
When she finds out things don’t go well.
There are several great side stories, but they all blend in well and add to the overall appeal of the book. Ms. Sanders develops such wonderfully flawed but loveable characters. I love the closeness of the friends and their families. You feel like you’re a part of this great group and you love every minute of the time you get to spend with them.
But that presents another problem. One of the characters has always had a close relationship with Finn and she goes out of her way to make Presley feel unwelcome. This creates all kinds of chaos. But Finn won’t let anything stand in his way. Not even his best friend. But has his friend already done too much damage for Finn to convince Presley that she’s the most important person in his life?
There’s another plot that involves Finn putting himself in one of those dangerous situations that scare Presley so much. Will she be able to handle it or will she run away?
As these two wonderful characters work through their individual problems they must also face some of their problems together if they are going to make it as a couple.
This book is a standalone book with a HEA! No Cliffhanger! Oh, did I forget to mention the hot sex? Oops!
I loved this book and would recommend it to those who like contemporary and New Age romance.
I received a copy of this book for my honest review.

Presley Chambers lives in a safe place. Her life has not been about taking risks, but finding a calm, no surprise lifestyle that she surrounds with her brother, father, and niece. When she meets Finn Black, that is what she sees, risk, desire, and putting her trust into the unknown. Presley is not sure she can be that girl though.

Finn though he loved once, but it was nothing like what he feels with Presley. He knows she is fragile, he knows he needs to take his time to get her to trust him. Finn will give Presley everything if she is willing to take a chance on him. Boundaries are pushed in more than one way though risking everything, can they hold on to the storm that is about to come?

I have been anxiously waiting for Finn's story. It did not disappoint. I liked Presley and understood her reasoning for being hesitant. There was one part of the story I was stunned by, if you have read the series I think you would agree. Not going to point it out but it had a very real life situation I could easily see unfold. This is a powerful couple, I think Finn is probably the most alpha so far in this series.

Ahren F-ing Sanders. I am absolutely speechless with this book. 99.9% of the time, books don’t affect me emotionally, but you… you and your words made me bawl. Finn is a book of nearly epic proportions, and I’ll admit it has taken me quite some time to sort out all the feels I had with this book and put my review onto paper. Sanders took my heart, crushed it, and then brought over the glue and duct tape to fix it after the ride came to an end. It is simply amazing what Sanders can do when she puts her pen to the paper.

Finn’s book has been a long time coming after his involvement with Raven and Declan’s story. While we are never given exactly the blow by blow that happened in Paris, we get the sense that it was a game changer for both Finn and his romantic entanglements. Raven secured a piece of his heart for herself, but he knew that she was never meant to be his. After Paris, he jumps from woman to woman until a chance meeting with a woman at a dog park. As a military man, he jumps at the chance to be involved in Robbie’s security firm, but even when Presley comes barreling into his life, he knows that the dangerous situations that he is placed in may be too much for her to handle.

Presley is what you would call the spunky, but reserved girl next door type. She has always done what was best for her family, including moving closer to her older brother to help raise his daughter. She craves a life of safety and comfort. Yet, one dream days before her brother’s death in the military rattles Presley and sets her on a course to break down those safety barriers and learn to live again. She’s never taken a single step outside into the danger zone, but for him, she’s willingly to try.

Finn and Presley’s story is beautiful in its broken hearts and broken souls mentality. There were so many moments in this book that made me gasp and grip my pillow in anger or frustration that I am sure my husband has looked into mental institutions for me. Finn is so much more than the love story between the papers, but of trusting in the one person who may just complete you and learning to knock down the walls around you. Sometimes you have to make a tough decision, but those decisions may not always be the best for everyone involved. I’ll admit while I love Declan, Sanders made me all head over heels for Finn. Her characters are so warm and genuine that you could literally see them walking down the street or at your favorite restaurant getting a bite to eat. Finn is by far in my top ten reads of 2016, and has likely cemented its self in the best book of all time standings as well. Now, the only thing I have to ask is, Miss Ahren Sanders, when is your next book coming out because this girl needs to stock up on her Kleenexes and whiskey?

4 "I forgot how yummy Finn Black is!"-stars!

*****MILD SPOILERS MAY OCCUR!!!****

I have been wanting to read Finn's book ever since the Surrender series. I think, looking back, that Finn has always been my favourite of the bunch, even if he didn't get the girl in the first two books. But he and Raven were never meant to be.

And after reading this one, I have to say, Raven has become one of my least favourite characters. If you loved Raven in the Surrender series, be warned! She shows herself from a very nasty side repeatedly, and although she (kinda) redeems herself, I couldn't really forgive her bitchiness. Sorry.. Three bitchy strikes and you're out!

Our sweet heroine, Presley, is almost too good to be true. She's loyal, caring, kind, understanding and, of course, ethereally beautiful (like Finn would get with an ugly troll?! Puh..lease), but thank God she also shows some attitude when thoroughly pissed. Otherwise, I don't think I would have been able to stand her. Like any other h, she has issues. Her issue? She's big on safety. Safe and stable (read: boring) life with dependable and safe (again read: booooring) boyfriend. Having lost her mum early and her brother to a roadside bomb, finding a man who lives dangerously is not what she was hoping for. But alas, love concours all, right.....?

This was a serious case of insta-love. Their love bordered on too sugary-sweet to me, but yet I really enjoyed this story. There was much needed drama near the last 25%, which gave the story some angst and showed both MCs' vulnerability and faults. Up until that point they were pretty perfect. And let's be honest, perfect is boring!

Dual POV. Can stand alone, but I recommend you read the Surrender series first for Raven and Declan's as well as Robbie and Ember's stories.

Get ready to have your socks blown off! Finn will do that and more once you read this book.

From the moment he set eyes on Presley, he knew she was it for him. He felt that love at first sight where your mouth goes dry, you go numb from the speed your heart is pounding, a little dizzy in the head, and as the world disappears from sight, you can only focus on the person that is affecting you this way. I fell in love with this man the moment he described how he was attracted to her.

Finn represents courage, bravery, a protector at heart who will never be able to change that about him. Presley, on the other hand, represents the need to play it safe. She is sweet and adorable, but she really has never lived and experience the exuberance of letting herself go and embrace life. She has suffered horrible losses and is scared to give her heart completely and loose again.

The courtship between Finn and Presley is what romance is made of. My emotions ( all of them) were all over the place as they courted, fell in love, and then life stepped in testing these lovers to the limit. I almost hated for the book to end. I was so engrossed in their story, I wanted more!

Urgh, I gave up.

They were just too 'perfect' and the story wasnt going anywere. It was normal dating without anything interesting happening. No, this does not mean I need lots of drama in my love stories (I have read great stories when there has been no drastic plot but their relationship and the banter has been brilliant). This had none of that.

#BuddyRead Review
Cyndi and Loredana were fortunate enough to attend Authors In The City (AITC) this year. Lo and behold, we had the opportunity to meet Ahren Sanders, and struck up a quick friendship. So, when we had the opportunity to read and review Finn, we jumped at the chance. We were left with some strong emotions and thoughts on the book. Wonder how you'll feel about it...

Loredana: Cyndi, I liked this book, but I think I may have to drop-kick Raven across town. I know the book is all about Finn and Presley, but I am still PISSED at this woman.

Cyndi: *giggle* I love how much she pissed you off. I'm right there with you.

Loredana: Seriously, I can't stop thinking about it. I have two schools of thought on this...either I am too fixated on Raven's bitchiness OR Ahren wrote her so well to have evoked such an emotion from me. Okay...let's actually talk about this book now. This was my first book by Ahren. What about you?

Cyndi: Yes, it's the first by Ahren that I've read. I have to say I think her writing style make it easy to get into the story. The prologue was a good intro to the 2 main characters ~ I knew immediately where they were in their lives.

Loredana: You know..that's a great point. A prologue seriously does help acquaint a reader with the characters. I hate when you're playing catch-up for the first part of the book! I liked Finn a lot. He moved really fast (apparently that's the MO of these guys) so that was a bit to handle for me, but he's an all around good guy. BUT, the whole GPS thing on the phone got to me.

Based on his personality, do you firmly place him the Alpha category, pseudo or not at all?

Cyndi: YES, he's Alpha - definitely Alpha. I loved that about him but I agree, he does take it a bit far. What I loved about him was that I could feel how pulled he felt towards her. There was that phenomenal connection.

Loredana: Really undeniable. What did you think about the secondary characters? Anyone stick out to you?

Cyndi: I'm onto you - you just want to talk about Raven.

Loredana: LOL...this time I was actually thinking about Reese and Tripp :)

Cyndi: I haven't had my Raven bitch-fest moment

Loredana: BRING IT!

Cyndi: I'll answer your question first. I liked Reece - she knows Presley well and had her back, but also called her out when needed. Tripp didn't stand out all that much to me. He was just there...all the boys loved goading Finn. Did I miss something? What about you?

Loredana: YES! Rather than being a blindly supporting friend, Reece was supportive, insightful, and intelligent about it. The best type of friend. Nah...Tripp was like a good time boy. I don't think we really got to know him.

Cyndi: That's it - that's what I felt with Tripp… just didn’t know him. So, before we get on the bash Raven bandwagon, what did you think about Presley?

Loredana: Presley...she reminded me of a little old bitty not living her life. Not until Finn. Nice enough girl, but she needed to wake up because life was passing her by.

Cyndi: Agree - She's just getting by. Very measured, altruistic and loyal She's careful and I get why but she NEEDED to meet Finn, she needed to be shaken up. And Finn... well, he's totally swoon worthy, quite the catch. It's hard not to like almost everyone in the story. Robbie and Ember - great circle of friends to be a part of.

Loredana: They are a great circle of friends. I love the ode to Finn at the end!

***RAVEN RANT***

Cyndi: Raven - well, I completely DESPISED her. Part of me wants to go back and read about her and Declan in Surrendering. But man, she made such a bad impression on me I'm not sure I'd get past what I know of her now. Though it was her appearance and reaction that made for the PERFECT angst. Maybe I'm like her, judging based on only a small bit of info and preconceived ideas - that's exactly how she is with Presley. It's just that she is SO MEAN. ugh!

Loredana: Yep. I couldn't really understand why she went off the rail. Postpartum stuff, being left out or the fact that her security net (not that she really wanted it) was gone.

Cyndi: I’m gonna have to tell myself she is suffering from post-partum mood swings. But her treatment is more premeditated - her opinions formed without talking to him directly. And poor Declan. So embarrassing to him. Wouldn't you wonder?

Loredana: I know I would!

***RAVEN RANT OVER***

Loredana: What part of the story stood out the most for you? And did you have a favorite?

Cyndi: Hmm….I loved their first date and the subsequent Benefit event date. Finn is so romantic as well as being so sexy. He's sentimental and devoted to her from the get go. Yours?

Loredana: I think Winnie was my favorite and I loved the dream where Simon came to Presley.

Cyndi: Awe, I can see why Winnie is your fave! I think she was why I liked their first date so much. The fact it was with Winnie. It's so sweet of Finn to include her. It shows how much he wants to get next to Presley.

Cyndi: What did you think about the second angst scenario?

Loredana: It felt anti-climatic to me...even though it was pretty serious...

Cyndi: Yes, agree. I wasn't surprised at Presley pulling the stunt she pulls - plot wise it gives it a new kick. I loved Finn's reaction to Raven. I still think she gets off too easy. I don't trust her!

Loredana: I agree with all of the above! Overall, it was a smooth read. Even though Ahren prepares you with the prologue, I think you really need to read the series in order to get a good read on all of the characters.

4 stars!

Ahren Sanders stole my heart, made me cry and completely made my day with Finn! Finn and Presley are the perfect couple if they can make it through until the end.

I am going to be the first to admit, I was a little torn when I started reading this book. It was a lot to take in initially, not may authors can pull of opening a story with such a dramatic feature, but if you had met Finn previously, you knew where his dedication was and you knew where his heart was. You loved Finn from the first meeting of him, much the same way that Presley did. But there is so much more to Finn than what we knew about him and now that I know the real Finn inside and out, I can tell you if anyone was lucky enough to capture his attention, she would most certainly be the luckiest girl in the world.

Presley has so much going for her and the biggest heart of all. But after everything she has been through is Finn really the right one for her? She grew up way too fast losing so much of her childhood when she lost her mom and as time went on she took on a much bigger role with her family. She moved from her hometown to live near her brother to help raise his little girl. Now it seems, it is time for her to do something for herself. But can she let go of all of her other responsibilities and find a way to embrace the love that Finn is willing to give?

Of course this isn't a perfect fairy tale and Finn's line of work seems like a lot for Presley to handle and may actually be the breaking point in their blossoming relationship. But Finn is no quitter. He knows that Presley is the one. He will fight for her every step of the way. The question is, will she fight for him just as hard?

Finn stole my heart, Raven broke my heart, Presley healed my heart. This book, despite my overly emotional tears in the beginning, is the book I have been waiting so long for. It is the book that captured me and hasn't let go. It will be a book that is read and re-read over and over again. Not only brilliantly written, but written with so much warmth and love it is a book to be treasured.

This book is what true love is all about. It was one moment, one look and Finn was gone, but so was Presley. This book completed a journey for Finn that was started a long time ago. Never settle and never give up. A love that last is the one that is worth fighting for. Ahren Sanders brought that love to life in Finn and I not only highly recommend it but I have added it to my top 10 of all time!

It started out great, possessive and crazy-in-love hero as well as a sweet heroine, but the drama that ensued wasn't my cup of tea. Particularly which I felt was really unnecessary although the hero (Finn) .

Also, the drama towards the ending was.. I just didn't like the way it went.

Finn Black wasn't looking for love, but sometimes you find it when you least expect it.

A chance encounter has landed Presley Chambers directly in Finn's line of sight. With an undeniable chemistry, Finn soon learns that he and Presley are connected in more ways than a brief meeting one summer afternoon. Now he's on a mission to learn more about her, and to help protect her fragile heart.

Presley Chambers has suffered a devastating loss, and Finn Black, the handsome, charismatic man she met just days before, is somehow there on one of her darkest days. A strong, commanding presence, Finn quickly goes from sexy stranger to so much more.

Presley, who values a life of safety and security, finds herself falling deeper into a life with Finn, a man who has made a career out of protecting others. When faced with the truth of Finn's dangerous career, can Presley handle the reality of it? Or will she cut her losses and run back to her life of safety? Maybe sometimes love isn't enough.

I was so excited to read this story. Finn and Presley together are perfect. They complete each other so well that you can't help but smile while reading about them.

Finn meets Presley while he is with Ember looking for a warrior dog for Robbie. Finn honestly has his breath taken from him as he can't seem to even speak when he lays eyes on Presley. She is also very attracted to Finn.

The next time that they meet is under such bad circumstances but the connection they feel is still there. What follows is a sweet love story about these two but they also have a few obstacles thrown in there direction. And Presley's little niece stole my heart. She is such a cute girl and her interaction with Finn was really cute. Some of this story was a little slow moving at parts but over all I really enjoyed this book.

It's been a while since I have read an Ahren Sanders book and if I'm honest I forgot how good her stories were.

There were parts of this book I felt out of the loop, I recommend reading The Surrendering Series before tackling Finn even though this can be read as a stand alone I felt there was too much I had missed about the background characters and also Finn.

I loved both characters instantly in this story, although when Presley made a stupid decision I was so mad at her and lost a little respect for her but she earned it back quickly!

Winnie was a big part of why I loved this book also, she was such a loveable kid and the way she looked up to Finn was amazing.

This book literally had me a sobbing mess at parts but most of it had me smiling or laughing. This was a great book and totally worth the read!

Finn and Presley sitting in a tree..... Doing more than K I S S I N G.... This was a long awaited book for me. Every book has always left me wondering... Who the heck is Finn and just what makes him tick?!? Not sure that I saw Presley coming into his life but oh boy!! I'm so glad she did. She really is an enhancement to all that is Finn. Full of zest but in a refined way, she's certainly what Finn needed to balance out. This book is a story of feels and closure. I certainly enjoyed and NEEDED the background on Finn and Ahren pulled through with precise execution on it. Every lingering question was touched on and I'm not left hanging. Miss Sanders has completed the series that will forever be engraved in my heart.

Not really digging the characters or plot. I think maybe its because I had just read 2 really amazing books and this one is just rubbing me the wrong way.

And the h's internal monogue was driving me up the wall:
"Russell wasn’t that bad. He was completely safe and kind. I try to defend the man I dated for a few months. But it’s not a good defense because Russell was a bit of a dud.” *eye roll*
I seriously cannot stand it when h is proud of the fact that she dates 'safe' guys so she doesn't get hurt. get over yourself

“We just buried my brother, and my mind can’t stop thinking about a man I don’t even know. Finn… Finn… Finn what? Shit, I don’t even know his last name.” *double eye roll*
And this gem. I think it explains itself.

Oh well. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Friends, family, true love...That's what this book was about. Hea, some drama (small amt), love, family, great sexy scenes, friends you wish were yours all wrapped into a great story. This is an excellent story with great secondary characters, well all except Raven but she pulls her head out of her as* eventually. I would happily read a book about any of theses characters. This book will have you laughing one minute, pis*ed the next, then crying, full circle of emotions. No cliffhanger, Highly recommend this book.

Loved this one.....I really liked Finn from the Surrendering series, so I could not wait to see him get his HEA. I loved how alpha and bossy he was.....just the way I like my Hero's to be.....mmmm the bit with Raven did not impress me.....kinda made it soil her in a way!!! Loved Presley and Winnie....

Now I really really hope we get a book for Max......he too needs to become infected with the "disease"

Not for me. Way too sweet for my liking. Way too much instant love going on here. Boring. I can tell how this is going to end. Predictable. Perfect, way too nice characters and all their friends are attractive. Meh.

I have loved every book from Ahren Sanders and this one is no exception. First that cover. The eyes draw you in and want you to read. Once that occurs you can’t put the story down.

Finn Oh Finn you are just swoony..Swoony and wonderful. Amazing and beautiful. Loyal and kind. Understanding and gentle. The story of him and Pressley is so fitting for him. It wasn’t the easiest road at times. Why? we have some roadblocks that need to be worked out but it isn’t something where him and Pressley are looking like it will be where they fall out of love or won’t come together forever just some issues that have to be resolved. wartching Finn with Pressley’s niece was so heart melting. From the beginning you could see the admiration and love for the little girl he had. The princess fort building scene was just precious.

Pressley is a great character. She gives up so much for her niece and it is so sad how the story begins. She loses a piece of herself at the beginning and she buries this behind being busy. She also has a fear that comes to light and needs to be addressed before she can truly move on as well. It is Finn that helps her and guides her as they fall in love and become each other’s lobsters. Pressley is sweetness personified and you just root for her and Finn to make it.

The one character that I growled at was Raven. Raven had no right to act how she did towards Pressley. She didn’t know her and yet was just vicious to her. She treated her with such malicious words and anger for no reason than she was with Finn. To Raven it was her protecting Finn but to Pressley it hurt her and fed into her fears. For Finn, it hurt him because Raven is his best friend and he has loved her and done so much for her and he felt she didn’t want him to be happy and find love. He sacrificed his love for her and stepped aside so she can be happy and yet she didn’t even give Pressley a shot. It was horrible. What got me the most was how she couldn’t see what she did and when she did didn’t respect Finn’s need to step back and decompress from it all as he figured out how to make Pressley feel safe and loved while being Raven’s friend still. Once Raven deals with her issues, things are better but it was hard to see Finn feel so hurt by his bestie like that.

The story is so sweet and wonderful. Sad at times but wonderful. sexy as well. Finn is all that and a bag and chips. Pressley is all that Finn needs and more. She is a perfect fit for him. They have some roadblocks and watching them navigate through them was amazing. A wonderful, sexy, fun sweet amazing romance that you don’t want to miss.

I didn’t think Ahren Sanders could create a better hero than Robbie Hayes. There was just something about how he took care of and loved Ember Walker in Salvation that made me fall in love with him. But after reading Finn, I can wholeheartedly say that Finn Black is just as amazing as Robbie is.

I have to admit, though, that I haven’t yet read about Finn’s time in Paris with Raven in Surviving, so my opinion of him heading into Finn was not manipulated by his place in the Raven and Declan ordeal. So maybe I wouldn’t be so head over heels about him if I was privy to those circumstances, but I highly doubt it;)

A safety girl and a risk taker – Presley and Finn couldn’t be more different in how they lived their lives, but when the heart is the main decider on who someone belongs to, the fact that Finn is not in the “safety universe” doesn’t matter, at least when it comes to falling in love.

Finn Black is a balls to the wall kind of guy; he lives to protect and serve, willingly facing danger in order to help those who need him. As a former Marine, he understands the risks, but the good he can do far outweighs the bad, and when it comes down to it, using his abilities to save other people is what makes Finn who he is.

Presley Chambers has always played it safe because she understands how easily situations can go wrong. Losing her mother at a young age forced her to be the “woman of the house,” which in turn, put her in a position to live for everyone but herself, ensuring that everyone else was taken care of and happy. Fear is a guiding principle in her life, so falling for someone like Finn – a person who looks danger in the eye on a regular basis - was not something she ever thought would happen but god help her because after one meeting, she couldn’t stop herself is she tried.

Finn and Presley easily succumb to the “disease” that has already claimed many of Finn’s friends, and it’s easy to tell from the very beginning of their relationship that they’ve found their “one,” but there are factors and complications, emotional baggage if you will, that threaten to undo the bond between them that seemed to solidify as soon as they met, and with the dangerous situations Finn finds himself in due to his job and Presley’s fears of losing someone else who she loves, their journey to a happily ever after is definitely a tumultuous one, and unless Finn can calm Presley’s fears and ease the emotional torment she feels due to a variety of situations, it doesn’t seem likely that they’ll end up in the same place that Raven and Declan and Robbie and Ember did.

If there’s one quality of Ahren Sanders’ writing that speaks to me as a reader, it’s her ability to construct complex characters who readers are shown instead of told about throughout the text. There are multiple layers to the heroes and heroines in Sanders’ stories, and we are privy to all of them, which allows us to understand everything about each character and reason out why they make the choices that they due in their story, even if we don’t agree with them. It’s easy to tell with how the dual perspective is written that Ahren Sanders lives and breathes her characters as she’s writing them and the storyline she puts them through pushes them in every sense of the word to figure out who they are and what they want from the live they were given.

Finn and Presley’s story is an emotional one, which makes sense due to their pasts and the events that occur during the text. I was pretty much emotionally invested with the couple from the start, which made it both frustrating and overwhelming to witness everything that they have to trudge through to get to a place where they’re both happy and unafraid. But the payoff is so worth the tears and heartache that I experienced while reading, and I’d gladly go through it again with Finn and Presley because they were absolutely meant to be.

I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

A few things happened while reading this book. The first thing to happen was that I cried my eyes out, while reading the first couple chapters. Then I went on FB to yell at Ahren for making me cry right away and to also tell her that she is very clever and also a bit mean. ;-) The second thing to happen was that I fell in love with Finn pretty much from the moment he was introduced in the book. That dude is the ultimate book boyfriend. **swoon** The third thing was that we were introduced to Finn's friend and I decided that I want to Weird Science (yeah, i'm using that as a verb) EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM.

From the moment Finn meets Presley, he is drawn to her. He can't explain it, but when fate intervenes and he sees her again, he knows he has to do something about it. And while Presley feels the same way about Finn, she is hesitant to start anything with him. She has a habit of playing it safe with her relationships and starting one with Finn would be the opposite of that. Finn's nickname is "Hero" and he was given that name for a reason. He is everything Presley should run away from, but everyone in their lives, and I mean EVERYONE, can see that there is something between them.

Finn. Finn basically perfect. When he asks Presley out and she turns him down because she has a standing date with her niece Winnie, he doesn't hesitate to join them. So Presley and Finn's first date is at a Chick-fil-A, with a four year old. And if that isn't enough to warm your heart, this exchange happened:
“Hey, what about me?” She puffs and waves at herself.

What happens next will stay in my brain forever. Finn reaches across the table and takes her small hand in his, at the same time his grip on my shoulder tightens.

“Pardon me, little miss, I meant I’m lucky enough to have two dates tonight, Presley and Winnie.”

Her little face lights up, and she nods approvingly at me.

Instantly, my heart melts.

Me too, Presley. Me too.

And that isn't the only time Finn does something like that. Throughout the course of the book, he not only tells Presley how much he cares for her, but he is constantly showing her. Their path to a happily ever after isn't easy and they have to go through some difficult stuff to get there. They both do things that had me yelling at my e-reader and telling them to get their shizz together and stop acting like children, BUT I never once doubted the feelings they had for each other.

This book is a stand alone, but some of the characters were introduced in Ahren's Surrender series. (Full disclosure: I have not read the Surrender series so all the characters were knew to me. I HATED Raven. So much that I don't even want to go back and read her story. Okay, maybe I will some day, but as of right now I just can't. Haha.) So if you enjoyed that series, you will want to pick up Finn. But you don't have to have read that series to enjoy this book. So go ahead and scroll on up back up the page and click on your platform of choice and meet Finn and the gang. You won't be disappointed.
