What happens when a bet goes too far?

Nick Rothberger has led a charmed life - money, women, freedom - it all comes easily to him. But when his brother, the CEO of RothCo, comes to him with a seemingly unsolvable problem, Nick proposes an unconventional solution -- one, which might just turn his easy life upside down.

Zoe Blanchard has worked hard for everything she has - including her menial job as assistant to one of the most demanding Vice Presidents of RothCo. But when her boss is laid up after an accident, and Zoe is asked to fill in, she reluctantly agrees to the brazen scheme Nick proposes in order to help RothCo and save her family's business.

With their constant bickering, Nick and Zoe seem to have little in common, except for his project to turn her into the glamorous executive she needs to be in order to cinch some delicate negotiations. Their mutual dislike turns to grudging admiration though as each begins to learn more about the other. When they look beneath the surface they learn there's more than either of them expected to find.

But Nick's been lying to Zoe about some important details of their little arrangement. What will happen when Zoe learns the truth about why Nick has been turning her into his perfect woman?

Lie to Me is a 60k word interracial romance featuring a HEA and no cliffhangers.

What BS did I just read?

The absolute worst book I've ever read. Why must African American women be portrayed as Dumb, fat, unruly natural hair, ignorant etc.. The person who poorly got this book published had all of that to say about the leading lady character, Zoe. I refuse to call this person an Author. One that poorly needs an editor I might add. This crapolla was loooooonnnnngggg and boring as heck. Way to many thoughts that dragged this crapolla on for far to long. The male was an entitled, spoiled, of course rich, capital "A" hole. He literally said the most offensive things about the leading character with his brother that I've only aforementioned a few. He and his brother made a juvenile bet that was worth Billions but Zoe was collateral damage. You know what? This isn't even worth my time nor yours to try and explain this foolishness. Just take my advise. DON'T READ THIS GARBAGE. You'll thank me later.

Lie to me! I received this book as an ARC member in return for an honest review. This book was excellent! I couldn't put the book down. There was drama everywhere. Nick makes a bet with his brother to take a homely looking woman and make her into a high quality business woman. In the midst of doing this Nick falls in love with Zoe. Adam reniges on the deal and Nick loses everything even Zoe when she over hears them talking about her and the bet. As we know love conquers all. Read the rest to see how Zoe and Nick rekindles their love and goes from broke to being millionaires thanks to Adam. Good read!

WOW! Family rivalry at its best. Nick and Adam make a driven bet, but little does Nick know that Adam cares much more about his company than he does his brother. Zoe is a great PA, working for a horrible boss. When she is asked/ordered to "become" her boss to close a business deal, she takes on the hardest challenge of her life. It was predictable the HEA, but not the struggles Zoe and Nick went through to get there. This was a great read.

Couldn't finish

I've never read anything by this author so I'm not sure if all her books are as demeaning as this one. I tried to get through it but had to stop at 22 percent. Nick is absolutely horrible and maybe he gets better but I don't want to stick around while Zoe is picked on for her weight, curly"unprofessional" hair, or bubbly personality.

Enjoyable

I really enjoyed this book! I loved the fact the hero wasn't some millionaire/billionaire alpha male who is always the smartest person in the room and has it all together, the heroine is the most brilliant one in this book. My favorite part of this book was when she knew the situation was becoming stressful to her and she was smart enough to realize she didn't like the person she was becoming and took a step back from things to regroup. I really loved the heroine in this one, the hero too, but definitely loved her!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

This was a clean and wholesome story by Mia Caldwell. I really liked Zoe she had a fiery personality. Nick was a jerk in the beginning but was changed through his "mission" of making a sophisticated woman out of Zoe. It was nice that this billionaire BWWM romance did not end up in the stereotypical unplanned pregnancy. I enjoyed this book, but prefer novels with a little more passion and steam. I would recommend this book and look forward to reading more by this author.

So close to absolutely loving this book! The character development was nothing short of a fresh breath of air. In this millennial literary sand storm where everything is fast and characters are two-dimensional, it was nice to feel the Hero's growth throughout the work. And I loved the way it was written! (Have I said that already?) Definitely pick this up as a read, Zoe and Nick won't disappoint. "Read Happily, Write with Inspiration, and Live for the Promise of Adventure." -K. Faulk

Very good.

Never judge a book by its cover and that seemed to be true in Zoe's case. Nick also learned that lesson as well. I liked how these two got together especially when the teacher became the student. Adam got exactly what he deserved with his pompous ass. Over this was another good read.

Bland

This story was just bland to me. It had no sizzle no fireworks no nothing!! After a while the story just got boring. I didn't feel any type of chemistry between Zoe and Nick. And Nick was no alpha male!! Especially after all the nasty cruel things his brother said about Zoe. IDK about this one.

I enjoyed Lie To Me. Both Nick and Adam learn a valuable lesson, you can't judge a book by its cover. The story is enjoyable and a quick read.

This is a quick, easy, good but somewhat boring read. There were times I felt as if the plot was rushed (particularly the end) but otherwise, it is a good read.
