I loved this book! It was full of intriguing characters and had a great plot full of twists and surprises that keep you reading till the last page.

3.5 stars really. A funny and light-hearted read. Very much a Victorian comedy of errors.
Spinster Anne takes care of everybody. She saves the heroes life but because she fears being accused of his beating, she arranges to dope him up and drop him off where he can be safely cared for. When he asks her name, she tells him Cassandra. Other guises she assumes are an older widow, and a young male. See what I mean about a comedy of errors? My only beef is that the oh so dashing, manly, etc, etc hero never recognizes her? In any of these guises? Ah well, that's why I said light-hearted.
