Rate this book
Dragonfly in the Land of Swamp Dragons is Book 3 in the Dragonfly series (Series #2 in the Dragonslayer World)

STRANDED IN A DANGEROUS LAND.

TORN BETWEEN TWO CULTURES.

THREATENED BY A DEADLY SORCERER.

When Greeta and her Northlander friends find themselves in the Land of Swamp Dragons, they face hard decisions. In pursuit of the powerful sorcerer Finehurst, they don’t know where he is or how to find him. Greeta alone knows how dangerous Finehurst can be. She is also confused about the peaceful ways she learned in her Shining Star village and the insistence of her new Northlander friends that Greeta must embrace the warrior ways of her Northlander heritage.

With only a hint of Finehurst’s trail to follow, Greeta and her friends enter a strange new land of humid jungles and treacherous swamps. When they encounter a striking woman and the dragons who obey her, she takes the Northlanders to an exotic city and a culture far more grand than anything they’ve ever seen before. But because they don’t speak the language, Greeta and her friends don’t know if the Swamp Landers are friends or foes, maybe even in league with Finehurst.

Greeta realizes the freedom known throughout the Great Turtle Lands will die unless she can figure out how to stop Finehurst by distinguishing her friends from her foes. But Greeta also must decide who she will become: a peaceful Shining Star woman or a Northlander warrior.

If I could rate this book a 4.5 I would. This is a review for the audiobook and ebook 'Dragonfly in the Land of Swamp Dragons' by Resa Nelson. Resa's narration did seem a bit slower and not as confident as the first two audio books but this did not deter me from enjoying the audiobook. After listening to the third installment of this series I was amazed at the authors imagination. Some writers seem to get stuck in an old repetitive pattern or genre, not Resa Nelson. Her world building is wonderful and I can visualize all details of every scene. Her characters change and mature in each book. Each one is like seeing their world through different eyes. Greeta, the main character, questions herself and is trying to find out how she fits in with the Shining Star people and all the nations plus how to shift into her dragon form. Finehurts is still up to no good and a real pain in the A**. There is so much more to Red Feather then she ever knew and what is he doing with the swamp people. The book is exciting, adventuresome with plenty of drama. You will not be disappointed with the quality of the writing and you're sure to enjoy the foreign world that Resa Nelson has created.
I was given a free copy from StoryOrigin in exchange for an honest review.

On the trail of Finehurst in a strange new land.

This third book in the Dragonfly series finds Greeta and her companions stranded in a part of the Great Turtle Lands that are unfamiliar and inhabited by people whose language she can’t speak. One again Resa Nelson crafts a story rich in imagery and character interaction. Along with meeting the inhabitants of this strange land, Greeta is reunited with a familiar face and exposed to ancient portents of the future and her role in that future. Having read the first two book of this series a few years ago I had to go back and listen to the first two books before listening to this book, I’m very glad I did refresh my memory because it allowed me to experience the heightening pace of the story and overall series. Listening to Resa narrate her story is such an entertaining and mesmerizing experience, her intimate familiarity of the story allows her to set the pace of the story perfectly as well as her consistent character voices between each of the

Definitely an enjoyable listen. This book continues Greta's travels, this time to the land of Swamp Dragons. She is still trying both to find and yet avoid the evil that drives her journey.

The author is the narrator and does a great job with the appropriate emphasis. Also slight changes of voice differentiate the characters, although more would help discern the change in speaker. This is not critical as the story makes this point obvious.

There is a lot of introspection by almost every character in the book. Thus many changes of POV. There is also a lot of mysticism, which is shared by the different cultures.

Intriguing

How do each of the characters interact with one another? It was difficult to keep the characters straight in the beginning but as I got deeper into the story it came together and was easier to follow.

The characters and the lands they were from seemed to be based on our world's history. God's, goddess' and dragons came together to appeal to mankind's since of right and wrong.

Enjoying this series!

I am really enjoying this series, and look forward to it's conclusion in the next book. I've been listening to the audio version, and the only negative is the author's monotone delivery. Without changing voices for the different characters, and the mechanical sound of her voice, the story is harder to follow.

Well written

I got so caught up in the book, I was unpleasantly surprised to find I had run out of pages. Thankfully Greeta will be back in the next book.

After leaving the Land of Ice and travelling to the southern part of the Great Turtle Lands, the Land of the Swamp dragons they find Finehurst is there. This does not bode well.
