The same gag over three volumes and I'm still not tired of it!! My favorite was the snow rabbit and the ensuing snowball fight. I wonder if Seki and Rumi will ever actually make a direct connection that involves conversation of some sort. It will be interesting to see where this goes and how long Morishige can pull it off.

The faces Seki and Rumi make while in the classroom are hilarious. Seki's amazed expression when he feels like he's done something amazing cracks me up and he also has so many stupid faces, too. One panel Rumi's mad at Seki and then the next panel she's in awe of him. It's what makes this manga so engaging. I feel bad for Rumi's grades but at least Seki's figured out what he wants to do with life-play, play, and play!

Goto is still great, and Uzawa is still funny, but the best parts are still Seki and his shenanigans, and Yokoi's internal monologuing about them.

Volume 3 continues the escapades of Yokoi and her desk neighbor Seki. These stories take place in and out of the classroom, but most are in the school. One of the stories took place in a pool, but this could have been in their school since they were in with their class, so I am going to say that there was only one story that took place out of school.

My favorite story-blurb of this volume was the first one with the snow rabbit because having Seki and Yokoi playing around in the snow together was so cute.

My second favorite story-blurb was with Seki and his sister in the park because I enjoy hearing about their family lives outside of school. I hope that the future volumes also talk about their families.

I would recommend this series to anyone looking for a funny school story about a creative classmate and his easily distracted neighboring classmate.

This is really just typical Seki being Seki and bringing the most random and astounding toys and living it up in the back of the classroom. Seki and all of his shenanigans have been annoying the people around him, like always. Great quick and hilarious read by yourself or with friends. I would highly recommend any of the books of this series (and it can be read non chronologicaly because it is written in short, separate chapters. Enjoy.

An enjoyable continuation of the series. It feels a bit like Seki's distractions are becoming more interactive; my memory of the anime series was that it seemed like he was usually focused on his own work, why Yokoi would get dragged in on her own, but some of his goofing off seems intended for an audience or even requires another person (like the tea ceremony).

(read in Japanese)

Another hilarious volume, I feel like there's some subtle character development going on compared to the anime and there's some great stuff in this one that never made it to the show.

The story continues as the two students procrastinate, whether on purpose or otherwise. For the first time, we're introduced to different weather and a younger sibling. I'm really enjoying the humor in the series.

I don't think Seki will ever be shown to speak on the page, but I adore Yokoi's reactions to Seki's shenanigans.

Itu selalu menyenangkan untuk menemukan beragam permainan Séki yg ditawarkan oleh Takuma sensei (serta penemuannya hha). Begitu eksentrik. APalagi interpretasi Rumi (dan Goto juga) menghibur pembaca

Reading with Metta, age 12. Fun, quick read. My favourite scene was the snow rabbit Yokoi saves from Seki.
The gags are starting to feel a little repetitive, but still fun.

Takuma Morishigen "Pulpettinaapurit 3" (Punainen Jättiläinen, 2016) kulkee kolmannessa ja ainakin toistaiseksi viimeisessä suomennetussa osassa tismalleen samoilla linjoilla kuin edeltäjänsä - eli toisin sanoen Yokoi-tyttö tarkkailee vierisessä pulpetissa istuvaa Seki-poikaa, jonka mielikuvitukselliset leikit hakevat vertaistaan - mutta sarjakuva onnistuu siitä huolimatta viihdyttämään ihan täpöllä.

Minusta tämä on yksi mukavimmista suomeksi käännetyistä mangasarjoista ikinä.

Seki continues to goof off, and Yokoi continues to watch in fascination and occasionally try to thwart his crueler games. This time around, Goto actually witnesses Seki's goofing off...and

I've now read enough volumes to get a feel for the role the series' few characters play. Uzawa is Seki's nemesis, the guy who messes with Seki's meticulous creations because he thinks Seki is just goofing off in class in a more normal way and he wants to join in. Goto is the girl who continually misunderstands Seki and Yokoi's relationship, even though she actually sees Seki in action this time. The robots aren't exactly characters, but it's now clear that Morishige plans to have them be series regulars, since they've shown up in every volume. This time around they escaped being found during an inspection.

Seki still hasn't said a word, and I suspect this will continue for the rest of the series. I do wonder what he thinks of Yokoi. Does he see her as a friend? Or at least something close? They have little fights over his meaner games, like his efforts to sink the snow bunny he made, but he doesn't seem to dislike her involvement the way he does Uzawa's.

The premise is starting to wear thin. I accidentally started volume 4 and didn't even realize I'd skipped most of this volume. This series is essentially the same sort of thing happening over and over - just one elaborate game/diversion after another, with Yokoi either enjoying it or getting mad (or both).

~3.5-4/5

This series is so fun.

Seki is, of course, continuing his game antics in class. He creates more in-depth war games with chess pieces, tries palm-reading, goes fossil and gold hunting in his desk. He tries driving a car on his desk, even making detailed licenses; has a tea ceremony; makes a soundtrack to a book he made. We see the robot family that Yokoi is protective of.

Now more people are getting dragged into it. One of their classmates still thinks him and Yokoi are in a serious relationship. Then a classmate inadvertently barges in and ruins something Seki had made. They get in trouble by the teacher.

They’re doing more things outside class, too. They have a fight in the snow, where Yokoi protects a bunny Seki made. And Yokoi meets Seki’s little sister, who wants his attention. His little sister is going to turn out just like him, too, clearly.

This is a very light-hearted, episodic school-life comedy. It’s fun to read, and I enjoy finding out what Seki is coming up with in each episode. The amount of work he puts in his classroom shenanigans are impressive.

Yey, nomor 3 terbit :D Pas banget.

Manga Cupcake Sweetness Dramatized

The fun and games continue with this volume. All of Seki's distractions and antics keep life, school and otherwise, interesting for well-meaning Yokoi. Especially loved the snow bunny (too cute!), the bag check (robot family action-drama!), and the chess vs shogi (zombie attack!) chapters.

I finally got to read the 3rd book and it was good. I think the author was pushing for a good storyline but perhaps in the popularity of his manga, he pulled back and settled on something more episodic and somewhat predictable. In book 3, though, we see progression in their relationship as allies of classroom adventures and some interaction outside of school with Seki's little sister.
