It's 'Aspen' meets 'Airport', as a star-crossed assemblage of lovers, dreamers & schemers descend (or ascend, as it were) on a plush ski resort. After Burt Hirschfeld struck paperback gold with 'Aspen', a number of "ski & scandal" tomes hit the racks and 'Sky High' is one of the most satisfying of the bunch. There's all manner of soapy subplots & sexual shenanigans before a deadly epidemic and an avalanche pile on the drama. Not every subplot wraps up as I had hoped, but this was still a solid, sensational read. While reading, however, I couldn't help wishing Irwin Allen or Ross Hunter had crafted a film version...
