This book was a great read about California and Santa Barbara history told from the experiences of T.M. Storke. I was reading this when the Santa Barbara News Press filed for bankruptcy. So sad after all the hard work T.M. Storke put into the paper.

The first half or so of the autobiography is excellent. Events become somewhat less interesting as the author becomes increasingly influential. The key events of the account are must-knows for anybody living in the area.
