"John Returns" continues the story that tells how John Harris leads a group of survivors through the chaos of a country that has fallen apart. The US President and a coalition of third world leaders have launched a major nuclear and EMP attack on all of the major powers and killed over 100 million Americans. The Grid is down and most cars and trucks won’t run. All electronics were destroyed with the EMP blasts. The USA is in chaos with criminals and thugs attacking innocent citizens, while John and his team fight the corrupt Department of Homeland Security and the President.
John Harris leads the people from a major part of the old USA and most of the remaining US military in building a new country, the Independent States of America. The USA immediately begins attacking the new country along with attacks from drug lords based in Mexico. In the last book, Apocalypse in the Homeland, John has survived being kidnapped twice, a plane crash and several battles as he fights to get home after his plane crashed in Wyoming. The ISA has sent Scott Harris and a small army to find his father, John Harris, the President of the ISA. John has plans of his own and is almost home when he hears of a devastating attack on his home base.
John is a tough man, but is this the last straw?

A.J. Newman is the author of over 22 novels that have been published on Amazon. He was born and raised in a small town in the western part of Kentucky. His Dad taught him how to handle guns very early in life, and he and his best friend Mike spent summers shooting .22 rifles and fishing.

John Harris

Just finished reading all the books in this series and really loved every one of them. The author takes you through what might happen if something like this happens and does a great job of showing how people react and change in times like this.

Good Plot Delivered Well

AJ Newman has a winner here. This is my 2nd time to read this series and I think I enjoyed it more. Crooked politicians, corrupt News media and. Power hungry groups abound. Military AND EOTWAWKI readers should love this series

Good but last book had me puzzled

Loved the whole series but am completely puzzled about the last book. The dates in the first four were 2038 & 2066 but in the last they're changed to 2022 & 2048. Why the change🤷🏼‍♀️

Centrist

I would have given this a higher rating except for the fact that the author overdid the attack on the left. When you consider who will be occupying the White House( or Trump Towers) in a few days. We are down to the last few days and I haven't heard of one instance of the Progressives confiscating weapons. 98% of scientists believe that Climactic Global Change is happening. The person that will be leading the Free World shortly is a narcissistic, rascist who bullies his way through life. I would live in the ISA if some of base of this story did indeed happen. But it seems to me that the engineer of this will be taking office on 01-20-2017.

Love this series

AJ Newman is one hell of a great storyteller. Hell in the Homeland has vaulted to the top of my all time favorite series's. I hope for more of John Harris but will understand if Mr Newman wishes to retire the character. John Harris to Make America Great Again

3.5 stars. An entertaining read; a few typos, some of the dialogue is stilted, but it was good for a quick distraction.
