Martin Outfitters had a potentially lucrative partnership in the works with a clothing company based in California. A face-to-face meeting with the owner was all they needed to seal the deal. Cole Martin was confident he could take care of business, and he offered to make the trip. When his father suggested he take a vacation on the West Coast after the meeting, Cole refused. He was solely focused on securing the partnership so he could get back home. He had no intentions of taking a vacation, much less building lasting personal relationships or experiencing life-changing events while he was there.Everything was going according to plan until he met Olivia."Rescue me," was the first thing she said to him, and well, with Cole being a Southern gentleman and all, that was exactly what he did.

Dear California: Martin Family Book 2 is by Brooke St. James. This book takes place in California and Louisiana. It is a cute book that simply takes you to a wonderful place in romance. Olivia (Liv) Torres and her sister, Estela (Tel) , have a unique occupation. They travel and blog. This was Tel’s brainchild and Liv has gone along with it. Their blog “Liv and Tel” has millions of followers; but Liv is tired of the traveling and wants to go out on her own designing clothes. She has gone to her Father’s office to pitch her staying here and designing for his stores. Cole Martin and his family own Martin Outfitters and want to bring in a line of clothes from Square Root from Pepe Torres. He has come to California to talk to Pepe about this. He literally runs into Liv outside the office building where her Father is located. There is an immediate attraction between them; but their encounter is very short. Cole is very surprised to learn that Liv is one of Pepe’s daughters. He learns this when he sees her photograph in Pepe’s office. When Liv, upon being introduced to Cole realizes he and her Father are going to lunch, invites herself along which is out of character for her. What will lunch bring? Will Cole get the line of clothes he wants and more? What surprises are in store for Liv?
I enjoyed this book because I love the Martin family. I love how humble they are even though they have money and how they are there for each other. I also love how they are just great people and hard workers. I read the first book in this series and absolutely loved it. I really related to Alex but I really couldn't relate to Olivia and couldn't decide if she was self absorbed or a good fit for Cole, who seems to be a great guy, until the end of the book when she didn't feel good enough. I also wish they wrote more from Cole's perspective. So even though this book was good, and a good read, I still enjoyed the first book more. Another in this series will be here in a few days though so apparently I didn't dislike it enough to not continue reading about the Martin family.
I read the first book of this series and really enjoyed it. This one was very ok. I don’t think I particularly connected with the main character and her selfie-life. The book just wasn’t long enough to break past her superficial exterior for me. Overall, it was a cute short read. Finished in a few hours. I think I may take a break from this author and read something a little more character focused next that spends a bit more time developing the story.
Celebrity insta-love. Liv is tired of her celebrity life and wants to settle in one place, living it normal. Then she bumps into this gorgeous guy who takes her breath away. And as chance would have it, he is into business with her dad. They spend the day together and fall in love. Quick love story, not too deep. Narrative: 1st person, following Liv with some passages in 3rd person, following Cole Religion: yes Romance: chaste, but some steamy kisses; allusion to marital intimacy
Easy to read and kept my interest. A easy to follow book. When reading I could easily picture where they were at and picture the people in the story in my mind! Can't say to read the next book!
This book held my interest just like the first book! Easily to see the characters in scenes as you read!
Wow, Liv and Cole have the best meet cute and love story! It was a whirlwind, but so sweet. I wish I could see all the amazing pics taken during this story. My parents were engaged in 13 days and have been married for 49 years, so I definitely believe in love at first sight and love progressing quickly for some. This was a beautiful story. I love the Martin family.
Between two hearts meeting in California. It was nice to have a family name from the Hunt series come up in this one. Cole goes to California to get the contract between his family business and the Torres family business when he meets Olivia Torres and falls in love.
Cole and Olivia ugh my heart is so happy this couple. I love this short little book. I love these char and how they wasn’t looking for love but when they first met in the street it was like love at first sight. I love how he told her he will give up everything for her and she would have done the same thing for him. So happy they got to together and were happy together.
This was a fantastic quick read! I wanted to keep reading and wasn't bored at all! There were some great kisses, but it was clean! You have to suspend your disbelief for awhile, but it's worth it! I love their banter and how quick everything happened!
This story was over the top in the speed in which they fall in love. This is certainly not the norm, even in fiction. The typos are annoying me more as well. Isle is short for island. Aisle is the path made by chairs or pews on one or 2 sides.
I enjoyed reading this book. Reading the reactions of someone not from the New Orleans area is priceless. Living in Houma all my 65 years, you don't realize that we have a different culture. I love reading the cajun dialect.
A romantic tale about Olivia and Cole. The family dynamics are great and make you feel like you’d like to belong to a family like that. The plot happens very quickly, but it’s well done. A quick read.
I love the way Liv and Cole just naturally go together. She is high society and he likes to fly under the radar, so they balance each other out. This is a fantastic series that I just reread in its entirety. You won't be disappointed.
It's so enjoyable when authors connect a series to another one. This book will briefly and perhaps subtly, connect with the Hunt family series. The book is enjoyable, and one in which the reader can fully immerse.
An online influencer duo is about to break up. One twin sister wants to stop loving her life online and the other doesn't. Liv meets a southern boy obviously from the Martin family and it all goes from there. Clean romance. Fun story and cute interactions. Enjoyed.
I really enjoyed this book and I couldn’t put it down. it was a very easy read and almost infectious. I’m really looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
Delightful! The author has a gift for dialogue, which is a good thing as this book is basically all dialogue. One caviat: if you're not into sweetness, you may want to look elsewhere. This story is an original and will make you smile. Worth the time.
I liked the first book better. I still loved the continuation of the Martin cousins, however, it didn't seem as if the plot was developed as well. Still reading the next book.
