Books can be attributed to "Anonymous" for several reasons:
* They are officially published under that name * They are traditional stories not attributed to a specific author * They are religious texts not generally attributed to a specific author
Books whose authorship is merely uncertain should be attributed to Unknown.
This translation renders ancient Hebrew and Greek documents into contemporary English very well. It's translation of idioms by meaning rather than word to word correlation facilitates comprehension, always the ultimate goal in translation. However, sometimes (and not consistently) markers in the original text are lost in the quest for idiomatic translation. The goal of meeting our contemporary norms in terms of gender neutral terminology sometimes aids understanding, but sometimes obscures or even shatters the author's intent. All in all, it is an excellent translation of the Bible that treats both original text and readers with respect.
