3 stars. This was only ok for me. This was Cooper and Emilia's story. Emilia is an ER doctor, nursing a broken heart from when her cheating ex gets engaged three weeks after they broke up. She is getting drunk at a bar with her coworkers when there is a hospital emergency and the others are on-call, leaving her alone. Cooper is an ex-military man/current mercenary for hire with the military. He sees Emilia in the bar and they flirt and he helps her get home with her friend safely because she is so drunk. A few weeks later, Emilia is sent to work on a medical mission to the Middle East by her hospital. She is shocked to see Cooper again. Some drama happens with refugees and earthquakes and bad guys in the field and they end up getting together.
This book was too short and there wasn't enough depth to the characters or their romance for me to feel a connection to them. The story line was original and the writing was pretty good, but I felt like there was too much suspense/other stuff going on and not enough romance. When the romance did show up, I felt like it came out of nowhere and was just thrown in. Overall, this was an okay read to pass some time, but didn't really hold my interest.

I'm not really sure what I was expecting with this book, but damn was it good!! What starts off with Emilia trying to drown her sorrows in a local bar after her douche of an ex-boyfriend gets engaged (they all work together), progresses with her sweating her butt of in the Middle East. Emilia is an ER doctor that is having a crappy couple of weeks. She finally decides to break it off with her cheating boyfriend only to have in propose to his mistress...wtf. Unbelievable circumstances lead her to taking a volunteer mission out in the Middle East to aid in a country with too many refugees and not enough doctors.
Cooper his the leader of a special ops team. While most would call him and his team mercenaries, they actually do more good for the sake of it being the right thing than just doing a job for the money. One night back in the US and his eyes land on Emilia in a bar. She's the most gorgeous woman he's ever seen, and talking to her lets him know how smart she is--even with her being drunk. But happiness is always a far off idea as he gets sent off on another mission right after pouring Emilia into her friend's car. His team is sent on more of a peace keeping mission this time--their job to guard a group of doctors that will be sent out to the Middle East to help with the refugees. Imagine his surprise when the lead of the medical team is none other than the beautiful drunk doctor from LA.
There is so much going on in this book that I don't want to give anything away! This is a little bit of a longer read, but trust me, it's worth it. Cooper and Emilia get thrown together in the Middle East in unexpected circumstances. They try to keep everything professional, but that is hard to do when they are working so closely together. When the inevitable happens--wow! There is so much action in this book that it will keep you on the edge of your seat. There are parts that will make you laugh, make you cry, and make you want to reach in the book and strangle the bad people. You definitely get a very real sense for what it must be like for refugees in war-torn countries, as well as what is like for those that come to offer assistance. Emilia and Cooper are both very strong characters, but they seem even stronger when they are together. If you like suspense with your steam, you'll love this story.

What a great romantic suspense by Gemma Hart. Cooper and Emilia light up the pages with their chemistry all throughout and it is electric the way they cannot help that pull toward each other, even when they fight it. Their first meeting at a seedy bar was by chance but it does not stop there, Cooper is her savior that night in the bar then before he leaves her, he gives her his phone number and is off on a mission. The next morning, Emilia finds out her evil ex-boyfriend volunteers her for medical missions work in Qunar. That is bad due to military issues over there along with civil unrest and things like that. Guess who Emilia Happens to run into over in Qunar ? Her bar buddy, Cooper, also known as Captain Hawkeye . The sexual chemistry, suspense, military action is fast moving and the way Cooper/Hawk feels toward Em is lovely. He wants to protect her so he does things to push her away. Oh and lets not forget the evil ex boyfriend and his bag of tricks. There are a lot of twists and turns in this story while forging on for the path of true love. Em and Coop have this lovely love story going and the end was quite nice. I do wish to know if Tammy will get a story for she made a great addition as a secondary character to this story and need her own.

What I Fight For: 3 🌟 stars. Good action story. Passionate intimacy scenes because of the situation. Not the slow burn intimacy scenes. Proofreading needs attention! He's a mercenary and she's a doctor. They meet in the USA and end up in the same war torn country. There's not a lot of happy stuff, so heads up. No cliffhanger or cheating and it does end on sort of a happy note.
Undercover Seduction is a Mafia story. She's an FBI accountant conned into being undercover to bring down the head of the Mafia and his son. He, wants out! Never wanted to be part of his father's organization. A lot happens, surprise reveal, and some steamy intimacy scenes. No cheating or cliffhanger, and it ends on a happy note. Proofreading needs attention! Risky Temptation is mentioned at the end that says there is more for these two, so hopefully I they get a happy ever after then.

Ok this book rocked .... And well deserved more than⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stars !!! First of all there way to different people one she saves lives and he takes them .. For Hawk when he meet Emilia in the bar she was wasted from trying to drown out all the sorrow from her recent break up , Hawk was just home from a mission and was trying to relax ... But something about the small Dr . Told him she would be a spit fire and he left her his number only to get called out on a different mission .. Never in his wildest dreams would he think he would run into the good doctor thousands of miles away in a foreign country helping refugees... This story only gets better the more u read

Oh my god, this is just the american version of the Korean popular drama Descendant of the Sun! Almost every key elements are the same. Two people met in passing, and then suddenly have to go to some place where crisis is happening. The man is a soldier, the woman is a doctor. They live in the same camp. Even the morning rituals of the soldiers that made all medical team thirsty is also the same.
And then, the old acquintance who turned bad, the child trafficking, the earthquake!!! It's too many to be simply a coincidence.

Such a beautifully written book. Cooper and emilia meet and attraction is instant. Cooper is called away and emilia is volunteered by force in a country in need of medical care. They meet again and the attraction is hooter then ever. This book has it all love, understanding, betrayal, hot sexy scences. It covers some serious issues and gives you a look into a ugly situation. A great book.

Emilia has had her heart broken in the worst way possible, not only was her jerk of a boyfriend cheating on her, but once they broke up instantly he was engaged to the other Woman. Having to watch that all day her friends took her out drinking, that is when she would meet Cooper and her life would change forever only it wouldnt happen right away. Cooper who is home for the moment meets this woman who he could see was special, but with his line of work not wanting to get attached as it might end in her heartbreak again.
What I enjoyed most about What I Fight For is watching Emilia being thrown into the wolves by her ex to go be apart of a medical staff in a foreign country that is in the middle of war and tons of danger, but watching her take it for all it is and going. Seeing Emilia finally feel safe with someone like Cooper when he lives the most dangerous life she could imagine. Emilia going through whatever it takes in dangerous situations to make sure others are taken care of and getting the medical attention they need.
This is another fantastic book by Gemma Hart. October 29, 2016This is the first book I have read by this author and I enjoyed this story. What I fight for is about Cooper aka Captain Hawk who is on Easy Team. A team made up of selected Ex Special Ops who work for or no longer work for the government. They are sent in when the large troops can't get down and dirty. The h of this story is Dr. Emilia Lyon she is a young beautiful doctor who recently was dumped by her "doctor" boyfriend of two years, to find out three weeks later he is engaged to his mistress. Lyon first meets Hawk at a rough bar in LA. He keeps an eye on her when she is a little drunk and left alone to wait for a ride. Hawk is interested and gives her his number but before he can get a little more acquainted with the doc he is called on a peaceful mission to the Middle East.
When Lyon"s boss nominates her to volunteer medical services to a small refugee camp in sands of the Middle East, she will find fate will have a way of making things come together. When her protective detail includes the hot alpha males of Easy Team along with their Captain Hawk. Will Lyon and Hawk let the chemistry between them continue or will they both decide their better not pursuing each other? ? A lot can happen in hot sizzling sun of the desert.

This is a wonderful story full of betrayal, drugs, child trafficking for sex or labor. Captain Cooper Hawking s a well trained Special force turn mercenary for the UN to aid in disaster relief or special recon. Emilia Lyons is an ER Doctor in the worst part of LA hospital and have had her heart broken when someone she's been dating decided to pick someone else to marry. And to add more salt to her wound, her ex-boyfriend (Edward) volunteers her to aid with the special medical aid for Qunar. This book have amazing characters and was very well written. The doctor endures a measles epidemic, earth quakes, children sex trafficking, children slave labor,arms dealings and drugs. The author does not disappoint by giving readers an intriguing story-line, gripping suspense, and breathtaking scene descriptions that keep you hooked from start to finish. Cooper and Emilia story wasn't easy, it was messy and the things they had to deal with aren't fun, but their story truly is beautiful and amazing

Awesome contemporary military/medical romance. Hawk (Cooper) is a former Special Forces officer who works privately as what some consider a mercenary. He and his team are sent on a peace keeping, protection mission. The night before his next mission he rescues a pretty doctor. Little did they know a few weeks later they'd meet again in a war torn country. Emilia is an ER doctor trying to get over her break up with her long term boyfriend. While overseas she becomes a stronger person. The country is unsafe between drugs, human trafficking, poverty and starvation the military and medical team must overcome so much together. This all pulls Hawk and Emilia closer even in a major earthquake. There is suspense, intrigue, heartbreaking situations but also love. I received a free copy of this book via Hidden Gems solely in exchange for an honest review. I look forward to reading more of Ms Hart's books in the future.

Then life and jobs get into the way and they thought it was done. That was until Emila showed up in a war zone and Cooper and his men are sworn to protect her and her medical team. Things happen and the chemistry and respect they have for each other comes through in the most difficult of situations.
This was a quick read that was filled with romance, suspense, humor and danger. The writing style is done so well, I felt like I was there. The ending unfortunately felt a little short for me, but I really love this couple and hope to see them again in future books.

I really enjoyed the book. Felt it was too short though. Maybe a little more push towards added suspense but overall was a nice read. The characters blended well with the story and there were only a couple spots that kind of got annoyed with the heroine but overall enjoyed the personalities of the characters. It was weird to me being halfway through on percentage of the book and already at the Epilogue but then I saw that another book was attached to it and that made sense, lol. I would recommend the book to a friend and look forward to reading more by the author.

Arc for honest review - 5 stars aren't enough for this book.
What an absolute amazing book, written beautifully. This book does have some hard hitting subjects in it but they don't go in to depth on them. I found this book to be really gripping and loved the suspense of it as you weren't sure what was going to happen next. Perfect.

I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review. I couldn't put it down once I started reading it. You will love reading about Cooper and Emilia. Humiliated and heartbroken Emilia drowns herself in alcohol one night. Mercenary Cooper feels obligated to look after the her but he was no hero or protector. Just one night that all it could be. Until I land in a country and an ocean away I see her!!

This is the first book in the Easy Team Series by Gemma Hart and an excellent start to the series. Emilia and Cooper are thrown together twice under vastly different circumstances. This book is fast paced, characters well developed, and had interesting dialogue. I love a book where the relationship builds and developers, rather than insta-love. Thins was a great read and I look forward to the next books in the series.

While this story wasn't one of Gemma's best, I really liked it. Some parts of the book seemed rushed. I loved the characters and how revenge came about while it wasn't really intended to be revenge. The plot was good; however, I wanted more from the characters. How would they react in a normal setting and if they would really have an HEA while not being in the middle of a "war zone" type situation.

This was a super hot and sexy read. Emilia and Cooper are fantastic and sometimes karma is just great. If you enjoy bad boys, military men or just hot guys you definitely need to check this one out. Really enjoyed this new book by Gemma Hart. At times I laughed out loud. Cooper is just the right type of hero. He's handsome, funny, protective and just lovable!
Em is a wonderful doctor! I enjoyed reading as she grew into a strong, understanding woman!

Almost DNF
This book just didn't grab me, I just could not get into it. I did finish it. It had everything it needed to be a great book, but I just couldn't get excited about it
