“Our kiss is no longer a kiss but instead a man trying to devour the first woman he’s tasted in over a decade. I’m starving for her. The need to touch every part of her is overwhelming. I am completely blinded by it. ”
“You may have been untimely, but for some insane reason, you promised you’d wait until I was ready. Until the time was right.”
“The woman is understanding and forgiveness. I don’t fucking deserve her but somehow I still have her. Bernice Noble is everything. Fucking everything. And I’ll never let her go.”

“I’m okay!”
“You may have been untimely, but for some insane reason, you promised you’d wait until I was ready. Until the time was right.”
“She is an angel. Stumbled right into my life and shone light when I was in my darkest place. And ever since, she’d been lighting the way – guiding me toward happiness.”
“I didn’t fall…the floor just needed a hug.”
“I just want to make love to her. For once, I want it to be real.”
“…but deep down, I was selfish and greedy. I wanted you. My heart begged for you. My soul craved you. Love hit me hard that day, even when I was out of it and inexperienced that I forgot what it felt like.”

Gosh. I'm not even mad tbh. I'm just disappointed. For a romance book, the author failed to convince me that the Hero is genuinely in love with the heroine. At least, not until the very end. In my eyes, the heroine deserved so much better--she deserved someone better, period.
Our Hero, Adrian has been living in a lie he created for years. In a way, he literally stopped living for 12 years. Consumed by guilt and regrets, he hasn't been able to let himself live the life he truly deserved. But as fate have it, our klutzy, crazy as hell heroine, Neesy entered his life.
"She's so vibrant and full of life. She makes my heart ache with need. With every smile or laugh, she sends currents of happiness coursing through me. I love being around her."
