The Tapper twins are back and the stakes ramp up with even more competitive and dangerous stunts than the prequel. In their oral history account complete with text messages, screen shots of the competitors' online chats, and photos, Claudia and Reese Tapper (from differing viewpoints) describe the events occurring during the "First Annual Culvert Prep Middle School Scavenger Hunt For Charity" with convincing snarky tween voices. The diverse students are divided into separate teams for the competition. One of the most wonderfully obnoxious of the Culvert teams named Goddess, Inc., a group of rich mean girls are pitch perfect, from their body language to their glib jabs. An especially entertaining character Xander speaks in jive street talk sharing his completely unfiltered honest cringe provoking thoughts throughout the events of the competition. This is a hilarious prankster sequel that middle school students will appreciate as they enjoy characters so like themselves or classmates in this zany tale.

Not quite as funny as the first one but it was still funny. I admit I was laughing so hard again at parts. The ending was perfect though. Can't wait for the third book and neither can my kids who love these books.

I am so sorry for the late review. This one was so funny, I wanted to write this review but I had something to do right as I finished reading it and then I totally forgot about it.

Warning: Possible spoilers ahead.

I think that this story was so cute. Question: "Do I need to read this one after The Tapper Twins Go to War with Each Other?"Answer: NOPE! This one has literally one reference if that from what I saw.

I had so many laughing points in this book. It was a nice break from my normal hard to read books, such as the one I am probably currently reading (in the future).

I NEVER feel childish reading this type of book, it is so weird. I couldn't put this one down. It was over WAY too fast. I can't wait for the next one.

I am apologizing for the fact that this review, and the next ones probably wont be the best because I literally forgot to get on here and write the review, and so all the crazy thoughts have escaped me.

I have not read the first one. I had no idea who these characters were, and I did not know what to expect. What I found was a pretty funny adventure through New York's most identifiable tourist traps.

The back-and-forth dialogue between Claudia and Reese was hilarious. I loved that they bickered like any real siblings, but you could still see the affection they had for one another. Surprisingly, despite there being mostly dialogue and very little in the way of character development, each character had their own personality and speech patterns. Probably more having to do with them being caricatures, but they were amusing ones all the same.

The Beast Squad is definitely the best part! Their poor stuffed animal Calvin got so butchered to heck I was just cracking up the whole time. At least they still got half points for getting half the Calvin in pictures, right? Even if it was only the legs...

Ending was delicious and a perfect way to end it.

Easy read, it looks thick but a lot of it is maps and pictures--it goes quick.

Almost as great as the first one. I have some reservations about the resolution, and the tone of one of the plot threads--rancor between the parents, including lying, is disturbing (but maybe discuss-able!)

Still love the format of mixing texts, social media content, lots of maps in this one (evidently--saw an ARC).

Crazy competition level could be very interesting to discuss. And the scavenger hunt idea is irresistible.

Külön pont a vicces, kézírást imitáló megjegyzésekért, a rajzokért (szupercukiiiiiik), a fotókért.
Elő fogom keríteni a többi részét is!

Likely the book from my preteen era that kindled my enthusiasm for epistolary frame fiction and absurd, humorous, detailed realism. Absolutely holds up. Perhaps the closest we'll ever get to a middle school Ulysses?

Couldn't decide for a while if this book was deeply cynical or totally unquestioning. In the event, it was neither. Entertaining and enjoyable. Possibly slightly circumscribed in characterisation (Xander and Kalisha come to mind). 9 year old co-reader (who usually has to be cajoled into reading in English, his second reading language) enjoyed it so much he read about half the book alone and without being promoted to do so. Recommended.

(Said 9 year old also questioned interpretation of the rules. As he saw it, all the teams needed 'a' chaperone, not 'the named' chaperone. Thus, team Fembot, with their drivers, were the only team who actually kept to the rules once Athena Cohen's mother insisted that splitting up was legal. We argued this semantic point for about an hour. He won.)

This book brought a huge smile to my face, and I could not stop chuckling as I read about Claudia and Reese's wacky scavenger hunt in NYC. This book will draw in any kid with its text messages, humorous photos, and witty banter between the characters. I especially loved the parents involvement, and honestly, the story was believable though over the top in the best way. It will make any kids laugh out loud, and make them read and read until they find themselves suddenly at the end of the story. Thankfully another book is coming out to keep kids reading and wanting more!

I'll admit when I first started this book I was irked that it seemed to have used many of the features which made the Origami Yoda series by Tom Angleberger so unique and funny. HOWEVER, I continued reading and quickly realized that the format of mixed commentary by a class of 6th graders, including photos, drawings, and "handwritten" commentary is such a great style, there is room for other authors. This version comes across highly contemporary with plenty of text messages, online dictionary definitions, and chatroom chatter.

AND, I laughed just as much.

The Tapper twins crack me up. I love how funny Claudia is--we don't have enough funny girls out there. Kids can devour these books, with all the pictures, text messages, online chats, and dialogue that moves the story along. I'm curious how the next one will be written. I love Claudia's oral history, but I wonder if there is another way to play with the format.

Another great listen from Geoff Rodkey. Son and I both feel it is as good as the first one.

The best part of these audio books is the narration. They have different actors reading the parts so rather than just a book being read to you, it is a radio play being performed for you.

We both hope there are many more Tapper Twins books in the future!

I loved the first one, and I read this in one sitting. Laughed out loud multiple times. I am waiting to meet the people who love this sense of humour as much as I do. Hits the perfect note for both Claudia and Reese - completely believable, real sixth graders.

sfjkh di hlm. 13, Claudia nulis "Gandhi: tukang protes damai terhebat di dunia".

(((tukang protes damai terhebat di dunia)))

description

Overall ceritanya sama serunya dgn buku pertama.

lol so the first time i read this book was a few years ago and i just re-read it to see how it would go.
tbh, i like how some of the characters actually have decent/realistic personalities. obviously though, some people were just based off cliches...

Xander is the typical annoying/'quirky' kid. idk any people who call their moms "mom-a-saur" but idk. vibe ig. the "fem-bots" is literally trash, like, evidently, the writer has no idea whatsoever what a mean girl is. james is like the weirdest character but it's actually true bc some people are like that so hats off to the author.

the plot was very twisty and loopy and !!! but what do you expect, it's the tapper twins.
also, the parents were dumb af

overall 3 stars because some of the characters were very confusing & the plot was very loopy but i like the way the book was written.

This are all the characters.

Oral account told by the twins of a scavenger hunt they participated in in NYC. The twins were on separate teams and were very competitive.
Characters were realistic, parents were a bit mean to each other and a bit irresponsible, friends were realistic. Story told in various text formats - emails, photos, texts. Claudia uses acronyms for many of the words she is speaking (tmi, btw, naaw) - which could confuse some readers.

Listened to audio version, which could have been confusing, but worked out well.

"The Tapper Twins Tear up New York" is a great book by Geoff Rodkey. The book is about is about a chaotic scavenger hunt made by Claudia (Reese gave her the idea). The Scavenger hunt takes the kids of Culvert Prep all around New York , such as South Houston, The Statue of Liberty, an expensive restaurant, and the back of a truck headed for New Jersey. My favorite part was the Flubby fight. Overall, this book is a great read! 4/5 (would read again)

This book was a good book because it was it's own thing and It didn't care about the rules of other books which made it special. It starts with these twins who want to do a school scavenger hunt but it soon turns south and there is a lot of chaos. I would recommend this book to younger readers as it relates a little more closely to them. This book is part of a series and it lays some base layers to the overall story. Overall this is a pretty good book to read.

Tapper Twins Tear Up New York has Claudia and Reese Tapper go on a wild scavenger hunt in NYC, where they rush to find a cronut or get popcorn jellybeans from a candy store. Havoc occurs as Beast Squad (Reese and his friends) have Reese get lost in a truck, and their Calvin the cat (plush school mascot) gets mangled. Tons of fun. I don't really like the ClickChat thing but, you know, I'm kind of socialmediaophobic anyway.
