Where there are beginnings, so too are there endings. Once, for the great gods of the old world, the end lurked in a very, very distant future. Unfortunately, things change—and not always for the better. As humanity turns to a new god, the deities of old fall to war and chaos in an effort to survive. In the years before and the ones that follow the great Immortal Wars, two marriages disintegrate.
Do Us Part is the direct follow-up short story to ‘Til Death, and is an optional Lovers and Liars prequel.
Liz is a Canadian author who grew up in the Middle East. She has a degree in Bioarchaeology from Western University, and when she isn't writing about her own snarky characters, she is reading about other people’s snarky characters, babying her herb garden, loitering on social media, or taking care of her furbabies.
Liz dabbles in both paranormal and contemporary erotic romance. Her paranormals are usually dark and angsty, and her contemporaries are stress-free smutfests, but you'll find both riddled with feels. Most of all, she loves writing realistic characters in fantastical settings.
Do Us Part was written for the follow-up anthology of It Begins Here, It Ends Here. As the title suggests, the first story, 'Til Death, was about beginnings. This is about endings. We find Loki and Sigyn facing tough times in Ragnarok, and even tougher times in the bleak period that follows. Aphrodite seeks her freedom from her forced marriages, and Hephaestus has to pick up the pieces in her absence.
I had a blast writing these little snippets. That's exactly what this and the previous story are. Snippets. Little glimpses into the worlds of the deities in the Lovers and Liars universe. I drew from myth and twisted it into fiction. I had a lot of great stories to play with, and I'm really excited to keep exploring the stories that happened before Aphrodite and Loki met in a martini bar in Manhattan.
