Jojo Moyes's novel Me Before You tells a love story between Louisa Clark, and Will Traynor. Louisa is a simple girl who lives a life tightly inside her comfort zone. However, her life changes when she is offered a job to take care of Will. Will is paralyzed from a motorcycle accident. However, he had previously had lived an extraordinary life but now has nothing to live for. Will is a difficult person to get along with for he is a generally unhappy person. Although, when Will's parents hire Louisa his mindset about life begins to change because she starts to treat him differently. They begin to fall in love, and the story takes off with other heartbreaking wonderful events.
I enjoyed this novel it was full of emotion and allowed the mind to fully be sucked into the love story. One quote by Louisa says “ I don’t know what I think. All I know is that most of the time I would rather be with him than anyone else I know” (212) exemplifies the meaning of love. Louisa and Will allow the readers to feel the emotions, and connection that the two of them have. Their love story is very unique, which makes the novel so interesting to read.
I would recommend this book. I think that the author does a very good job, by introducing the characters, separately, and then writing about who they are together. The relationship that Will and Louisa have is very unique and special. The author writes a very fascinating story, that truly draws in the reader. For these reasons, I would suggest reading Me Before You.

"Do you know something Clark? You are pretty much the only thing that makes me want to get up in the morning."

(kind of spoilers)

I must say off the bat that it did take me a few weeks to get into the first few chapters of the book; but this was automatically compensated for, for the rest of the book. After these few weeks of reader-block I finished the book in 3 days.

If you have also read this book.. you know that it ruined you to the absolute core. But I do too know that you have taken a piece of it with you.

I'm a sucker for a hysterically sad book; but 'Me Before You' was one of those books that were so gut-wrenching that you couldn't cry. Your jaw kind of drops and you feels though the life is being sucked out of you.... I know I'm really selling it to you.

Despite the literal fact that it is depression on paper within the last few chapters, I cannot urge you to read it enough. It brings a huge smile to your face before slapping it off again. It is a very unconventional love story which evolves around making the other partner the best person they can be whether that means your apart of their life or not... It raw. Thats how I describe it. Theres no heated scenes, but its soft, touching and the small scenes of happiness are what stay with you. Like the tights scene... you know what I'm talking about.

It has really affected me, my view on love and my view on myself.
Of course the standards have sky-rocketed as always ;)

I tell all my reader friends to read Me before you. And your no exception.

Read it !!

✨✨ BOOK REVIEW ✨✨
🦋 Me Before You by @jojomoyesofficial 🦋

Hola Guys! I am back after a long gap with my first 2020 review. This one was on my waiting list from a long time and never thought I would love this book so much.
The writing is so fluid it takes you to Louisa’s world and you instantly become part of her life. She is now part of me who taught me how to live each moment irrespective of what life offers you on plate.
🦋
🦋
The story is about young Louisa who has lost her job at cafe. After many unsuccessful attempts she finally lands on doorstep of Will Traynor. Will is a quadraplegic who needs round the clock assistance with every move he tries to make. Louisa is his caretaker and Will makes no attempts to hide his feelings of contempt for her. She isnt discouraged and continues with her job due to financial crunch at her home.
🦋
They are the most unlikely pair you can ever imagine, but slowly they connect and Will starts to open up to Louisa and then forms a beautiful bond between them.
🦋
However Louisa is devastated when she learns of his life changing decision. She is aware why he is taking this extreme step but she is determined to change his mind.
🦋
Here we witness Louisa’s strong determination to persuade someone as strong willed as Will and her affections for him.
🍁🍁🍁
Once you start reading its impossible to put this one down. Since I am full time analyst at a bank and also a momma to a 2 year toddler, it was almost impossible to find time to read daily. But as they say…..Where there’s will there’s always a way. I used to read this one between my meals…in the kitchen while preparing meals…or even when I am putting my little one to bed. It was absolutely worth and I even ended up buying sequel “After You"
***.5/5

I would recommend this book to any of my classmates that enjoy a sappy love story with a twist. This book was really good in terms of keeping the reader interested. It did actually take me a bit to get into just because I had heard a lot about this book and that it was really good so I had high expectations to start off with and at first I wasn't too impressed but then it did in fact meet those expectations.
This book is about a girl who helps a disabled man through his everyday life and ends up showing him just how much life has to offer. She tries to be the light in his life that guides him forward and not just stuck struggling in his wheelchair.
I will give a fair warning that this book does have a sad ending, however it sends a very powerful message to the reading and I think is definitely worth reading. It gives you an insight to their lives and also makes you think a lot about your own and the choices you make.

Louise had a peaceful life in a small community; family, boyfriend and job she enjoyed. This all changed when the cafe' closed and she needed to find another job. With limited skills and education, Lou (mid 20's) took a position as a caregiver to Will (mid 30's), a quadriplegic. Lou being able to converse with almost anyone had difficulty connecting with Will. If it wasn't for the position being only 6 months and that her family was relying on her income for support, Lou would have given up. The story continues with how Lou tries to make the most of the challenging work environment. As the time progresses, Lou & Will begin to learn about each other and the value to life. Lou learns to challenge herself to know what it means to really live and not just exist.
I loved this book. I laughed and cried. While reading it and even after I read it, the message to fully live your life, a quality life had an impact on my thoughts. I fully recommend reading Me Before You!

It will have you laughing, and crying in this emotional roller coaster.
I read this book in 1 day, I just couldn't put it down. Looking forward to reading more of Jojo Moyes books.
Would recommend.

You know it was a good read:
When you are still stuck "in" the book you just finished and can't bring yourself to start a new one.

The book had a very boring start , I felt as if I couldn’t read through it and I pushed myself to give it a chance , it got a little better towards the middle/end but then I found the end shocking as I thought will would changed his mind my heart broke , but then I felt as everything was for nothing , all the trips all the things she did , was for nothing

tardé un poco más de lo habitual de leerlo pero me encantó, hay muchísimas partes que no están en la película. Eso particularmente me emocionó, me parece un gran libro donde de verdad te lleva a querer/empatizar con los personajes. 5/5 muy bueno.

I am not sure if I like this book. The plot is easy and predictable. Everything is quite direct. It’s just OK to read.

Hi,
I am writing this letter in my last days of life and if you are reading, it has a reason and a purpose. Before start, I want you to know that I love you so much…
Know it has passed some days that i'm not present with everyone, but I hope that the conversations are still the same, with many laughs, hugs and jokes, this were one of the things that I most appreciated in our friendship.
Our rides to Pier 21, Pontão, Stônia, Shows, movies, no doubt were the best hours, just by the simple fact that I was with you.
I only ask you one thing… PLEASE, don't stop doing those things because i'm not with you guys anymore, I just want you to continue your lives normally, happy like always. I will always be with all of you… in your hearts, never forget this.
I will not deny, I wanted more than anything to be with you the moment that you reach your dreams, give you a hug and say "this was more than deserved". But as not everything in life is how we want it, I will be seeing everything, but from up here and always giving you all the necessary support.
I know that these first days will be difficult for you and everyone, but remember that life is like a book, and this is just a chapter. In a little while you turn the page and everything will return to its proper place, or even as a series, you choose, this all is just a season where not everything is happening as planned, but it is about to end. EVERYTHING in life passes, but don't be wondering how long it will take to pass, each day the pain decreases a little and when you realize it, everything has passed. Continue your life normally, studying, working hard, having fun, going to parties, meeting new people, making new friends, don't be deprived of anything because I'm not with you, please!
After that you read this whole letter, do this things that I will say now:
1- Go to my house and take something from my room that makes you remember me, to have a little piece of me with you, it can be anything, just as I have one yours with me.
2- On the top of my bed, you will find a gift, I hope you like it. I am not going to say here what it is, because I want it to be a surprise. I did it with a lot of love, just as I am also doing this letter. Hope you like it.
I told my parents that you were going to visit our house and asked them to prepare a risotto, yes, the food we most enjoyed eating and making together. I promise it will be very good, but not good as yours.
3- Sit outside on the barbecue and try not to think negative, just in the beautiful things in life and how we enjoyed every second when we were together.
I have one more message for you (I'm sure you would never wait for this one).
4- When you get home, ask your mother for the book that is kept in her room. I made one with our photos from when we were small until our teens, with a few sentences and telling a little bit the story of our friendship.
I have three guesses of how it will be your reaction when opening the book:
a- crying liters of water (I know you)
b- opening a smile from ear to ear
c- the two options (almost certainly it's this one)
You have no idea how important our friendship it's to me.
Even though i've died, she will not stop being, I will always carry a piece of you with me, along with all our moments together.
If at any time you need me, vent or anything, write everything in a letter, I know how you like to vent writing.
I promise I will be accompanying you in all stages of your life and when you need, I will give a touch in your heart, that you will know it's me.
Ok, I think this letter is getting a little bigger than I imagined, but as it is for you, I just can't stop writing, because this farewell hurts me a lot, and I'm sure it also hurts you. Even because you are more sensitive than me (many people thinks it impossible to find someone more than me, but you are a proof hahaha).
I promise you that the letter is ending, even though you may not want it right...?
I just have to say a few thanks to you... THANK YOU for being this present friend, for all the advices, every hugs, laughs, risottos hahaha, shows ... THANK YOU for everything! from my heart. I don't even have a word for you and not even to explain how special you are, not only for me, but for my family as well.
Now the worst part of the letter has arrived, right? the farewell ... I will try to do it in the least painful way possible, to be better for both of us.
You still have a long journey ahead of you and remember, you can do it! enjoy everything you have to enjoy, I'll always be with you, never forget that, ok? my family is there, for anything. You're also our family, remember?
LIVE WELL!
JUST LIVE!
Live the present, leave the past in your memories and be prepared for the future!
With love,
Isadora Borges

First, I have not seen the movie. That said, I reluctantly started this book expecting a sappy love story. Wrong I was! It is about finding strength and yourself, dealing with life, and making difficult choices. Now, I will see the movie.

2. Phim cũng rất pơ phẹc ngoài cái mạch phim bị cắt xén bớt chút ít. Cực thích nhân vật Louisa. Tạo hình nhân vật khiến mình khá bất ngờ. Cách diễn của Lou và Will siêu hay. Thích. Will đẹp trai với giọng siêu ấm nữa. Haha.
Lâu rồi mới coi phim Anh, nghe pronunciation cũng thấy thích ☺
Kết luận là pơ phẹc

I was recommended this by the lady at the secondhand book store. She was right, it was so sweet pretty hard to put down. I watched the movie straight after and it was a pretty good adaption, too.
