Beta read in exchange for an honest review.

I'm so happy I got asked by the author to do a beta read for this book. I really enjoyed the whole experience and journey, also of course the story. This review is based on my beta read, so not the whole finished work. What I can say is that this author likes it dirty! Oh yeah. Insta love/lust? Count it in. And alpha heroes that are OTT for their woman? Heck yes! Those are all the things that I love to see in my books. It's just something that relaxes me and gives me the satisfaction that I need from a quick read. Also, the plot is not something I've read before. The whole Donut King concept is totally new for me. It's interesting, funny, hot and at the same time also very amusing. When it comes to the characters, I liked them, the main couple the most, of course but the ony person that I really disliked is Owen's co-worker. She was just too much and too drama-lama oriented character. What I liked about Owen is that he knew what he wanted, went for it and just enjoyed the time he was given to the fullest. Maybe what did bother me was that at times he was too dominant and the situation with his co-worker could have been handled differently. And as for Olive, not sure what I make of her. At times she's strong but sometimes she's also insecure, shy and simply just too inexpirienced. I'm glad she found someone that understand her or better said that person found her.
All in all, I had fun reading this book and wouldn't mind reading another book from this author.

First off if you have ever read one of Nelle L'Amour's books, you know that you will be needing a spare pair of panties and a way to relieve yourself!! And now every time I eat a donut I think of The Big O...

“Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh!” she screamed out, arching her back and squeezing her eyes shut as she savored the bite full. “Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh!”

Owen's trying to get his company from going into bankruptcy and is trying to revamp a way to get it back in the green...well in comes Olive and the way she has her way with the cream filled donut has him almost coming.

Olive's needing a way to make money since she lost her job and this was an easy way to make $100, what she didn't expect was to experience the most earth shattering orgasms she's ever had.

Owen was all alpha but also had a soft side when it came to Olive and that made me love him even more.

“I’m not done with your sweet little p*ssy. You’re going to come for me again,” he growled, not slowing his pace. “And again.”

It was a quick read but a delicious one as well. Beware when you start reading it and where because Owen & Olive will have you giving your thighs an exercise.

Sweet, funny and down right sexy! ~Kara, 4 Stars

if i could have rated this 0 stars, I would have. I have a lot of respect for people who get their work published and try not to be mean in my reviews (silence is my go to tool) but this shit right here?? DNFed at 8%. I overlooked the H gross ass frat boy thoughts until I got to the part where he is thinking about why he lost his last assistant: "I refrained from telling her that my last assistant (unlucky number thirteen) had a nervous breakdown because she couldn’t get into my pants or keep up with my demanding workload. All she wanted was a full load of my seed." W.T.F.

H offers the destitute and about to be homeless virgin h the job but he has to make sure she is a "good fit" by asking if she is on Birth Control, which begins what I assume will be a sex scene on his office couch but I QUIT.

This book has 4.5 star reviews on Amazon...HOW SWAY??? UGH!!

The Big O
Nelle L’Amour
Author review.
4 "O" stars

After receiving this as a sneak peek, I was intrigued and a little shocked with the 1st chapter. But for everything I questioned I didn’t want that chapter to end. This is nothing like my normal reads, but Nelle, is one of my favourite authors she really even if it totally sucked I would have read it. But never fear, although it surprised me, I enjoyed it in the strangest of ways.

Plus sized, Olive Cumming (nice play on the surname ) is about to be evicted from her home, with no job and no money she signs up for a focus group for Donut King, her all time favourite food. In this she gives the most honest of opinions on the flayling company. But while she manages to annoy the marketing girl, Mallory Clint with her O-ver the top reaction to the donuts, and the comments to the other participants, it is owner and king himself, Owen King that will change her life forever.

Owen is struggling with his company making a huge loss, with no other choice he has a focus group set up to get real reactions from the public, what he hears is certainly not music to his ears, but on top of the fatal truth of what people really think of his business he is struck, by one particular participant. She is big, bold and gorgeous. He knows what to do.... he is going to take that woman. She can be is queen, his princess. With her truth and massive attitude she will change Donut King, and soon if he gets everything his way, Owen will not be dealing with creditors but preaching highs of his new found company ways and his princes by his side.

In an almost humorous, get together Owen claims Olive for himself . So O-ver the top he declares his want for her, and takes her his does in a hot donut fuelled encounter. Within 24 hours all of Olive’s worries are gone.... Owen wants his queen, and nothing or no one is going to stop that happening. Olive’s big us beautiful attitude is refreshing, and for a millionaire to lust over, and want a plus size woman is nice to read.

Well done Nelle, for another enjoyable read.

Update: Placeholder for a Fan Fiction book I've read.

It's just....bad. That's all I'm going to say

I loved this book. I am a BBW and its so great to see one of us who enjoys food can get her Prince Charming or should I say our King charming. Owen is totally taken with Olive the minute he sees her in the focus group. He is so sweet. Mallory I hated from the start she is rail thin and vicious. Olive gave him the idea to save his company. They are so perfect together. I laughed I cried and I celebrated the HEA! Great book.

This book was just not for me. I get the insta love if done right but as soon as you see that the hero wants her, it's insta sex to the rawest firm. Don't get me wrong the sex was hot but no development for me for the characters to make them relatable.

When the author contacted me via Goodreads with an opportunity to beta read this book, I must admit that even if Madame Nelle L'Amour was a new-to-me author, I was very excited. And wow, I was SO glad I got to read this book ! From this book alone, I came to realize that this author is fabulous and awesome and I totally dig and adore her!

I super floved The Big O. It's one of the best insta-love romance novels that features a curvy plus-sized woman who found an over the top alpha male who treats her like a princess.

The book is a modern Cinderella story of sorts. Olive grew up poor and overweight, and her insecurities grew from a sad past. Her passion was acting. She didn't have so much luck in life and was about to be homeless when she answered an ad from Craigslist looking for people who loved donuts. She never expected that The Donut King himself, her childhood Prince Charming would sweep her off her feet, shower her with so much love, and answer all her prayers.

Owen's donut business was falling apart. A new marketing strategy was needed. This was where he found the only woman who affected him so much with just her mere refreshingly innocent presence. Olive Cumming changed his life more than he did hers. And he vowed to protect her forever.

Not meaning to sound redundant , but I really love love love The Big O ! It was super sexy and kilig! Also, this book will convert you into a donut addict. Or if you already are, it would make you crave for more. This is most definitely one of my favorite romantic fairy tale books this year.

3.5 stars. First book by this author. I liked it pretty well...it was pretty funny. I liked the story line, a struggling curvy actress and a wealthy donut chain owner. I always like curvy girl books. This heroine was sweet but a little to emotional for my taste....but later in the book you find out why. The hero was not consistently alpha for me, he was with her, but then he had the head of his marketing department that really went too far all the time and yet he kept putting up with her crap.

The one thing I really did not like about the book was a little bit to much couple angst for me. The first time was when she walked into his office and the hooker marketing girl was straddling him, trying to get him to sleep with her...even though he didn't want her he didn't push her off either..didn't want to hurt her....are you shitting me....but he could push her off after the "love of his life" walks in...is this thing on...wth. If I caught my husband like that...I would drop kick him. Of course the heroine is sweet and forgives him...way to fast for my taste. And the girl keeps her job...of course. So that was 1 star taken off.....there were a few other couple angst moments but that one irritated me the most.

Overall I did like it though...points for the humor, the insta-love, HEA & curvy girl book....liked all of that.

“I wanted Olive to be my princess. I wanted to rule her body, her heart, and her soul. No woman had ever had such an effect on me. Not ever.”

Owen King’s donut business is in trouble. Running a focus group is an attempt to find out what’s wrong and try and get the business back on course. The minute he sees Olive’s big, beautiful body and angelic face in the focus group, he’s a goner.

“He was my lover. My savior. My dream maker. My hero.”

Olive is a starving actress who went along to a focus group for two reasons. Money and donuts. She’s loved Donut King donuts since forever. Her natural orgasmic reaction to his donuts completely enthrals and captivates Owen – the handsome, gruff, Donut King whose heart is closed off. Olive’s sweet innocence has him falling for her - hook, line and sinker.

“Olive had a magnetic pull on me that was greater than gravity. I had found my solar force. My world.”

This novel was a fun, somewhat OTT insta-love story. I found it adorable and very sexy, with a high feel-good factor!

Insta-love, insta-magic, insta-drive to buy a dozen donuts! Must warn you, reading this book will plunge you into overdrive need for donuts! Especially the cream-filled ones!

Owen is the donut king. He runs his empire, which he inherited from his parents, and is all-consumed with continuing to make it a success. He has hit a down turn and must determine WHY his delicious donuts are not selling like before. In comes a focus group and among the women in the group is OLIVE! All it took was for him to see her and he was never the same again. Olive is sweet, intelligent and loving. Picture Marylin Monroe, boobs and all, and you will definitely realize Owen is a-gonner.

This is a delightful and remarkably intriguing read as the plotline thickens and evil comes to play with Olive's well-being. Be prepared for the shocker... but do not despair, all's well that ends well.

If your a fan of instant love then this story is for you. Owen is the Donut King and his business isn't what it used to be. During a focus group he sees Olive and immediately wants to claim her. Olive has had to dealt with insecurities all her life and a chance meeting with the Donut King has her feeling things she has never experienced before. They are amazing together and wish Owen would have kicked Mallory to the curb sooner. Another amazing story and love reading Owen & Olive's story.

Ok first of all this book has so much potential to be a 5 star book!!! And I so hate giving anything less than 4 stars but I have to be honest. This book had some very hot scenes just let me tell you!!! And Owen the lead man...lord bring him to me and he can devour me like a donut any day!!!! There was also some funny parts to this book that I loved!! Actually this book had everything you could want but it just come off in such an immature way. In some parts I almost felt like I could visualize a bad porn. And I love the insta-love books and the hero being all alpha and taking care of his girl. But I just couldn't connect with this book. But I could in some parts connect with Olive the main female and I love where the author is trying to go with this book!!! I just wish she made her stronger but I understand where she was going with her character. Overall though I had to finish, I needed to know what happened so it wasn't a DNF for me which says a lot. But I do urge you to read this book and judge for yourself. Because like I said I did like it,I just didn't love it.

3.5 stars!

Nelle L’Amour is a new to me author and I was very excited to read The Big O!

From the first page, the author had me hooked with this modern day Cinderella love story. Olive, who is about to be evicted, answered an ad from Craiglist hoping to make a quick buck before she ends up homeless.

Owen, The Donut King, is looking for a new marketing strategy because his business is falling apart. He sees Olive and is completely smitten with her and vows right then and there to sweep her off her feet!

The Big O was a very fast paced, fun read. I enjoyed reading about Olive and Owen and their insta-love romance. I loved the fact that Olive, who is a curvy, plus sized woman, finds her alpha male and HEA.

It did come with a warning.

Yes, it's over-the-top, fast-paced, and fantastical but if you just want fun and diverse characters, this one's for you.

The story started with Donut King being in the red and Owen King (the actual Donut King and owner) needs to do something to save his business.

Enter Olive Cumming to save the day (and be saved). She's a big and beautiful woman who dealt with the cards she's given and there's insta-lust and instant attraction between Owen and Olive. Enter the over-the-top and fast-paced part.

I like how things progressed. There's a bit of drama, humor, and sexiness, and a guaranteed HEA.

I have read a lot of Nelle L'Amour's books, That Man is one of my favorite series and I love her Gloria series, but this one was just okay for me. It could have used better editing and the h seemed immature and almost childlike, it was a little strange. I also found it weird that the H kept his dead mother's vintage dresses in his bedroom closet and he got all hot and bothered when the h wore one. The H was known as the Donut King so he should have called the h his queen not princess especially since they end up having a daughter. The completely ridiculous, over the top poisoning scene was just a bit too much for me. I know these are dumb things to complain about but I cant help that they annoyed the crap out of me. Owen King is the "Donut King", he built an empire out of the one store his beloved owned and operated. Lately business has not been great and Owen has taken on an investor to help financially. Unfortunately he got stuck with the investor's spoiled daughter, Mallory as his head of marketing and all she wants is to get in his pants. Olive has lost her waitressing job and she's about to get evicted from her apartment. She sees an ad on Craig's List that pays $100 to participate in a focus group for Donut King. She's desperate for money and she loves Donut King donuts so she signs up for it. Owen watches the focus group from behind a two way mirror and is fascinated by a beautiful, curvy blond woman participating. The group is shown the new commercial featuring Owen dressed like a king with a cartoon beard and asked their opinion. Most of the women don't like the commercial and make negative comments about it and refuse donuts when they are asked to try one. Olive is outraged and says she loves the Donut King and thinks he is gorgeous. Then she eats a donut and Owen is shocked and amazed by her reaction and so are the other women and they all start eating the donuts. After the focus group is over Owen asks that Olive be brought to his office. Olive is nervous to meet with him thinking she did something wrong and won't get her $100. Owen is inspired by Olive and her reaction to eating his donuts so he fires the company doing his advertising and hires ZAP, the firm owned by Jaime Zander (Gloria Trilogy). Owen is even more enthralled by Olive when he sees her close up in his office and he offers her a job being his personal assistant.

The BIG O

Okay by now you guys know the drill; Nellster gave me an ARC for my honest opinion of the book. So let's get started:

This is something I never do l, and that's analyzing a book cover. I personally think all book covers are great, and it captures the authors vision of what he/she believes the cover should be. Nonetheless, I thought this cover was breath taking! You have this fabulous woman laying on what I'm assuming is a bed, showing that no matter how you look, you can be sexy! And sexy is an understatement of how she looked. She was classy with it, and loving who she is. And also you have a mouth watering donut there! Can this get any better!? Being comfortable in your skin and having food at your disposal!? Sign me up!! Nelle job well done on this cover.

Moving along quite nicely!
This book! I was captivated within the first 10% of the book. How could I not be? Not only was the author play on words were amazing, but she did something most book lack, a blast from the past. Meaning, she made reference to things that had me giggling and reminiscing. You know those day? Yeah the good ole days.
The story circulated around a phenomenal woman whose down on her luck, yeah but she has been down for a long time. Regardless of all the difficulties she faces, her faith never wandered. And too often we forget that what we do through is so bad we just say fudge it. But a little faith goes a looooooooong way. This book pulled a few heart strings, while in other aspect had me craving a donut! But no ordinary donut, I wanted the donut King! I wanted the Big O! Yes an oh so good donut to sink my teeth in, and have my taste buds going AWOL!!

Oh frosting, glazed, cream filling!!! I need me a donut King! I need to feel the way the female heroine felt! This is book made me love the male hero so much harder! He didn't let anything or anyone stood in his way of claiming what's his! And claim he did!! I'm getting fluster again replaying the scenes in my head!

Enough of me going on and on..
If you doubt the sugary goodness of this book, I dare you to go buy it and read it for yourself, and form your own opinion of it. There's so much more I could say but I'd end up re-writing the book. Lol!

One love
Xoxo

This story is about Owen, CEO and proclaimed donut king and right now business for him isn’t doing so good. He is pushed into getting a focus group together to find out why things aren’t so good in his business. In his focus group, he comes upon the sweet and sexy aspiring actress Olive Cumming. He sees something happen with her and his donuts and folks, it was written in stone at that point-- All he knows is he wants her for more than just his focus group. He wants her in his bed, and more. Its insta-lust, love , attraction, heat all rolled up into one. Olive finds herself out of her waitressing job and she took the focus job to help pay her rent. Next thing she knows , Owen CEO sweeps in and hires sweet Olive to be his assistant. She can’t believe what just happened but she doesn’t look a gift horse in the mouth. The heat and chemistry between this is phenomenal—but there is someone is waiting in the shadows to make sure they aren’t together and keep this awesome couple apart.
Owen is this wonderful alpha donut kingmaker, he finds his Queen and that’s it. No messing around and he is determined to do what it takes to make her his as soon as possible, and woe to whomever stands in his way. What is fantastic is how Olive goes about changing Owen and for the better. Before there was this coldness, this hardness to him and Olive comes in and sets about changing his outlook for the better and in doing so, changes his company where before there were creditors, and with his new outlook, he is reaching his goal and saving his company and exceeding things—so before Olive, there was no hope and now with Olive, he has hope. Oh this story has twists and turns and there are those determined to keep him down and ruin him and Olive but Mr Donut King doesn’t let that happen. The ending is delicious and the HEA is full of heat and heart. What a great love story that is Cinderella-esqe in style which is great but with a twist that has a full figure heroine and an alpha male –perfect!

My rating: 4.8 stars *****

This is a short comment I sent to the author after reading this wonderful book I that I was lucky to obtain an arc of.....

I am so sorry to once again bother you but I just finished reading "The Big O" and I was blown away. I'm trying to find a way to articulate in a review for goodreads the overwhelming love I have for this book. Yeah, I laughed so hard with all the puns and jokes. Really, Olive Cumming? That in itself had my rolling.

A virgin who is loves donuts and the donut king. A full figured woman who knows the body shaming that bigger women know. It is sad but you made her story more acceptable to larger women everywhere. And a man who's eyes are truly open and sees the person inside and outside of a reflection of the woman. My husband always says a man loves something to grab on to. You gave so many so many women a new outlook on themselves and life after reading this, even if most of it made me laugh.

I was most touched my your personal thoughts and words given to all us ladies. The picture at the end of Olive was perfection. Big can be beautiful! Thank you soooo much for given me an opportunity to be have early access to this awesome book. I can't wait to share the word about your book but with your words of wisdom, I need to find my balance to verbally be able to express how wonderful I found it.

Once again, "Thank You" and I can't wait to see what you have next for us!

Note: This was the authors response to my comment and I couldn't find a better way to express how much I loved it so, I took her comment to heart and am sharing it with all of you.

"Seriously, you could just copy and paste this email and it would be the most perfect review and help others discover The Big O and its message:"

Now as a reader, I believe it is our responsibility to spread the word about books that can make us laugh but more importantly share a messages to help others feel good about themselves and I think this book does just that. Everyone deserves and can have a HEA.

Nelle L'Amour is a new author to me but after reading this book...I am totally a fan!

Running a business takes a lot and along with it comes stress and sometimes very long and lonely days. Owen King knows this all to well. He is trying to do whatever he can to save his business. He is known to many as The Donut King and he is trying to run his kingdom well but he is missing one little thing. someone to love and share it with. focusing on work, he has no idea that he's about to find the missing piece to the puzzle.

Olive Cumming is struggling to get by. She is an aspiring actress who works hard to make ends meet. Luck just hasn't been on her side. Facing eviction from her apartment she attends a focus group hoping to earn extra cash. little does she know, its for her favorite place of all time. Dount king is someone she adores and she absolutely loves the donuts. She has no idea that owen king has found something that he needs in her. sometimes you are just in the right place and luck is on your side.

after the group ends, olive is pulled to the side. thinking she has done something wrong she gets upset. thinking all of her luck has finally run out she hears a voice that lets her know things are totally about to change. The chemistry between owen and olive is completely off the charts. the romance in this book is scorching hot!

i can honestly say i'll never look at donuts the same way again! you will have a whole new appreciation for them.

i'm looking forward to more books from this fantastic author! don't pass this book up! its a sweet, sexy, insta love to the max amazing book!

The Big O - ARC - Nelle L'Armour

Owens company is in strife, profits are falling. While watching a focus group he sees a woman that infatuates him, Olive, she is passionate, she loves donuts, and manages to turn the whole group around, and have them moaning in ecstasy as they eat the donuts. When Olive isn't paid like the rest and called to the bosses office, she assumes it's to be yelled at, unaware that Owen has watched her whole display and is totally enamored with her. Now she's crying in front of the owner, a gorgeous scumbag, and all he's doing is making fun of her. But soon she realizes her mistake, she'd just been evicted, Owen seeing the whole thing. Now she has a job working for the sexy hot Owen, and a new place to stay, all she has to do is keep her deep dark secret, and survive the evil Mallory who wants Owen for herself.

I have to admit, when it comes to hot and steamy, Nelle is awesome, my favorite in fact. Nelle has an amazing talent of making you fall in love with her characters, she builds them up to people you feel you personally know, and once again she has not let me down. When Olive's past catches up with her, and she fills Owen in on what happened, your heart will break. Owen is this amazing romantic we'd all love to meet and have as our own.

2 Disappointed Stars

Let me start by saying I've read and reviewed two other serials by Nelle, which I really enjoyed. But unfortunately this one didn't quite work for me.

The first time "Donut King" Owen King sets his eyes on Olivia Cummings, he's instantly smitten. Well, smitten isn't really the word... more like imprinted. He decides she's the one for him and goes really far out to make her his. He barely knows her name, or she his, before they are off to the races. I'm all for insta-love, but thing happened really quickly here. I won't ruin it for those who want to read it. Just know everything happens so fast, I didn't feel it.

There is everything from company espionage to poisoning that happens in this very quick read, which lends itself to feeling a little forced and convoluted. It's sort of a sweet erotic romance on one hand, yet some really heavy things have happened to both characters and happen to them currently on the other.

I don't know, I just felt like everything was a little forced. I was sad because I really love Nelle and respect her way of storytelling. This story just didn't quite work for me. Won't stop me from reading her again. I just can't really recommend this one this time.

Sad face, as I write this review.

NO Just NO

Okay, so I thought that by at least the title of the book, this would be humorous. At least a little. *sigh* I guess the joke was on me, because I DNF this when my kindle said 8%. The book was not what I thought it would be. I mean I understand that she is attractive and everything and this was an insta-love read, but damn. This was written so poorly.

It was cringe-worthy the way the main male character was towards her. I was really creeped out. Like he hadn’t even met her and was acting all fucking in love and possessive and like he needed to sleep with her because the way she ate his donuts. He acted like he would go and get her through a glass pane and ravage her over it. I was revolted.

Then when they finally met, she was so happy he wanted to have sex with her over how much she enjoyed the donuts his company made. He gave her a job and it was like voiced that she would have to sleep with him to keep it. She was all for it. I wanted to throw up. I just couldn’t finish reading this trash. Some people actually said they loved this and gave it 5 stars. I think they were smoking something or other.

I just don’t get how this was even published. Must be off their damn rocker, you guys. Honestly.

OOOOOOMMMGGG! This book had me on a sugar high rush that was off the charts. Sexy bachelor Owen King is the CEO of Donut King. Unfortunately sales aren't doing too well. So his marketing assistant Clint decided to do a focus group to help better the business. Since business hasn't been doing to good Owen has pushed his love life to the side. Until he set his eyes on Olive Cumming at the focus group.

Sexy, smart Olive Cumming has lost her job and is about to be homeless. Meanwhile trying to find a job she answered to an ad about looking for people who loved donuts and to give an honest opinion for $100. At this focus group Olive has made a big impression. Owen was so impressed he had to meet her and make her his.

Once they meet there was an instant physical attraction that they couldn't explain. There's one problem though their nemesis Clint will give them trouble.

This Hot as hell instant love book will have you saying Ohhhhh!
